Good win against a decent team. We played most of the game sans two starters. Loved that Essigian took a major step forward on offense tonight. Good to see. I was a bit disappointed with our defense effort and our general lack of intensity. We also did a below average job with our ball handling. Perhaps I am not giving enough credit to South Dakota. Their ability to take it to the basket was a big concern, we have some players that cannot stop the dribble drive. Our bigs could not close out on them either. So, something to fix moving forward.

Nope, that has been his defensive style all year -

Good lord, KC was a BAD team. Should beat them by 40...and we did. -
Glad the Jayskers are still behind their winning program. We shall see.

Creighton may not win another game until they get their injured guard back. I thought...ahem, cough...maybe Traudt...ahem, snicker, may start taking over games. HeeHeeHee. Seriously though, their losses will not do anything to enhance our national presence. -
Good take...BUT...I am not convinced that Purdue is close to last year's team. In my humble opinion, we are clearly more talented and deeper than Purdue.

I believe once we start heating up from the perimeter, the lobs and dunks will come. Right now, the opposition sags to the paint in order to stop our drives rather than come out to pressure most of our shooters.

I will say this now...there WILL be referees that will not find our physical style of play to their liking. Those games will be rather, ahem, frustrating.

Really hard to tell. So much has to go into that decision. I imagine the practices include experiments with various line ups. -

It was a pretty decent weekend, don't you think. We played decently and beat a clearly outmanned Creighton men's basketball team. The football team finally played a good football game and beat Wisconsin, gaining bowl eligibility for the first time in ages. The volleyball team played okay and beat Wisconsin into submission. Alas, our one stumble was the Husker women playing their hearts out in their first game post-Potts injury. They came up short. All said, passing grade.

You missed one variant. Yes, the team may lack quickness; but the men have length that goes nicely with the grit/intensity. Plus, at least last night, the men closed out on the Creighton shooters like crazy. -

It was fun when the husker football fans let out a huge cheer when the score from last night was announced. Jayskers had to have a slow embarrassing burn! -

Nobody but the NIL people. Many of those Jayskers have plenty of coin. -
Steve, I would be interested in your perspective of the Creighton "rivalry". Did the non-Nebraskan players and coaches buy into the rivalry or was it simply another game to prep you for league action?

Yup. Still amped up about the win. You know, others have mentioned the following, and I definitely believe it to be true. We were the better team. It was certainly not a fluke that we won, and that we did so decisively. -
