I don't know; but I am betting the wind will be playing a role. -
I visited with Frager's grandma at the BOB scrimmage. They went into the preseason 100% positive he was redshirting. But by the time that scrimmage took place, there was serious discussion of him playing. I'm glad he redshirted...and I'm pretty confident he will be in the rotation.

Read today that Creighton paid $2 million for Freeman. Not sure it is true or not; but if true, wow.

Good point; but there were a hell a lot of us that were pretty damn excited about most of the signees last off-season. Simply go back and look. Hindsight is 20/20.

At this point, I'm betting that most information is being passed on by player agents. It benefits their clients by getting bidding wars started. Here is the deal. We are most certainly vetting names, listening to contacts, watching film and guaging interest. But my guess is that WE are not leaking anything to the press. If we are leaking anything, it is to a select group of individuals that handle our $$$.

It talks about Amy leveraging the portal on a limited basis; yet we've been successful doing so. Successes include Bella, Jaz and Berte. Will likely leverage this year if we can find the right fit.

Sounds like either Iowa State or Purdue bound.

Lol...we did as well. -
Connor can perfect his shot from Chadron and Scotsbluff, not to mention Terrytown.
-
Well, if he is interested in academia, a transfer to UNL should be pretty seamless.

Man, isn't speculation fun. Honestly, some names being tossed about likely can, and perhaps will be the perfect fit. I am in total agreement with the majority that our number one target must be a point guard. In my mind, we actually need a PG that defends, has handles, can shoot and distribute the ball. They are a dime a dozen, right. Next we need a combo guard. The perfect description is Mr. Williams, please. Third, we need a big. Contrary to others, I'm not sure we need a bouncy big; rather, we need a versatile big. Examples being Berke and Mast. I'm not convinced we know what to do with a rim protector, so to speak; but he needs to be able to play help defense and defend the pick and roll. Behind those three must-haves is depth. A shooter, a plus defender and a thug would be kinda cool.

To be clear, Hurley ranted and cussed. Although boorish and expected from him, especially after a loss; he was not the one that issued the threat. It is the SID that should be held accountable by both the school and authorities.

Last year, Ernie almost left for a HC gig. So I am going to speculate he is out looking around a bit as well. One hope I have is the newbie has an in on some quality talent. We shall see. Howard was indeed brought in for his defense scheme. He apparently learned that defense from an earlier gig. He also was a recruiter with emphasis on the southeast region. That never planned out. I know there is some angst about losing him; but not me. I'm not sure timing is ever right; but with him, I do not see where we were a great team. We may just find a hidden jewel. Let's get better...let's find better talent. Let's find someone who will get us to the next level.

Perhaps. Time will tell. Obviously, if they get the financial support, they will be in a better position to buy players.

Thought this deserved its own thread. Gonzo. Heading to N.C. State Not sure if this is good, bad or otherwise. Hey, we didn't earn a NCAA Tournament bid or a NCAA Tournament win with him. Hopefully, Fred can find someone, who is the right fit, and has a magic elixir that takes us to basketball nirvana. Good luck Adam, and thank you for your service.
