Still out there recruiting... Colin Cymbalista is finally showing what he can do on a baseball field. Next year he’ll be doing it at Nebraska. The catcher/first baseman at Hutchinson (Kan.) C.C. committed to the Huskers on Sunday following a hot start that has the sophomore among the more well-rounded producers at the junior college level. He chose NU over finalist Penn State and a host of other interested schools including Gonzaga and Western Kentucky.

Not sure why a "dude" would leave a team where he was a project to go to another team where he would be a project? Sounds like he may be a Summitt League candidate. He could hone his game and then move up if/when the time is right.

Correct. Players and coaches understand. They will push the envelope until they are made to stop. A push is not a foul, until a ref calls it a foul. So if isn't called then a push can become a shove, etc. Now, it is pretty much anything goes. Then what becomes frustrating for everyone is the occasional touch fouls "that seem to" favor one team over the other.

Stealing this title that Norm provided in one of his recent takes. I thought it could use space for an interesting discussion. We have heard about how we started to change the culture last year and broke out this season, in part, due to this evolution. We also know from the recent past, that skill and talent isn't the only requirement in building a team. Pieces must fit together so the team is cohesive and are all moving the same direction. Talk, talk, talk; but what is the magic formula? How come some players get it, and others do not? Certainly there must be traits that you have to look for and recruit towards, right? There are well over a thousand basketball players currently in the portal. We fans are like kids in a candy store, yelling out to our mama's, I want that one, and that one. How do the coaches choose the multiple players we need? Can we give psychological profile tests to the players? Do they meet the entire team on their visits? Thoughts, knowledge, answers, more questions?

So the refs clearly blow a call, then magnify it by calling a technical on the coach for being outside the box!!!! Good grief. Do they really need Duke in the final four that badly???

Interesting hearing Van Gundy compare college ball to the NBA. He indicated that college refs allow play to be much more physical. Whether true or not, it sort of blows my mind. I remember the NBA during the bad boy era. Even before with Moses Malone and a host of others. They had a ton of bad mo fo's on the court. High School and college was much more finesse and skill oriented. Now pro ball is the most hands off level of play...goodness gracious. By the way, high school ball is WAY out of hand. The administration and referee association has to fully address and alter foul versus non fouls. So back to college, maybe holding Keisei is now a perfectly fair and normal way to play the game

The refereeing in the UConn v Illinois game is deplorable.
