  1. The Des Moines Register asked the Hoibergs about the rumors at the Michigan St game, and both Dad and son had some interesting vague replies.
  2. Watching the replay of last night's game and he's excited as anybody about Trueblood's performance. Here's a guy that is personally invested in our school. I certainly don't mean to say other players aren't, but his off-court demeanor speaks volumes even though his career is over. Thanks again, Isaac, and all of our seniors!
  3. I get more uncomfortable by the hour about this.
  4. I wonder if there is anyone in Berkeley who can confirm if Moos has left the stadium yet.
  5. I hope we're not setting ourselves up for another Bill Self moment in this program's history.?
  6. Maybe Moos talked to Altman this past week, who knows. But if we ended up playing Oregon in the NIT under those conditions - talk about awkward.
  7. OK, you are right on that one. I really didn't do my homework, did I? Oh well, let's hope Moos is more focused than I am. This is just intuition, but I think the home-run hire for Nebraska is going to have to be somebody we all are not talking about, so just picking my brain for who that would be.
  8. Maybe. I have no idea if he is getting better support or worse support than Miles. He's won two more NCAA games at Northwestern than we've done in 120 years. He would walk in here and know just as much about every program as any other Big Ten coach. He has to have established recruiting connections in Chicago and maybe the East coast. These things might count for something. Would you rather have Collins or a hot mid-major hire? Is there one you have your eye on?
  9. It did take him a while for a title, but he had some pretty good teams along the way.
  10. Chris Collins - Northwestern. Though some further reading seems to indicate that he has a better contract than I thought.
  11. Somehow, Johnny's statement and Nick Bahes' statement don't mesh to me.
  12. I have to say, I don't know why everyone is getting worked up about Bill Moos' statement. Seems like he's respecting the possibility that our season is not done. He's between a rock and a hard place over-communicating or under-communicating. I also am perplexed by Miles' critics who say "he doesn't relate with his players". Seems pretty far-fetched for a pretty relate-able guy. And the quote above doesn't support that theory either.
  13. OK, there are two people with those attributes. I actually wasn't thinking Matta. This person hasn't been mentioned (incredibly) in the first 63 pages of this thread. Actually, can't say that Ohio St was a mori-bound program, so Matta doesn't qualify for #1 entirely.
  14. If we are in the hunt for a new coach, I would think the following qualities would be pretty intriguing: 1. Has head coaching experience taking a mori-bound major conference program to the Sweet Sixteen 2. Knows the Big Ten conference landscape intimately, yet... 3. Gets paid less than the current NU coach and doesn't have a big contract to buy out, and... 4. Isn't a sexy hire this year, so is under the radar with respect to other major conference program openings. If I were Bill Moos, I would be falling over myself to talk with this person. And of course, there is one coach I know of today who has all the attributes above. You know who I'm talking about, right?
  15. And this just came in the mail.
  16. It will be nice to have his towering presence in the middle. He really dishes it out, so should be good for assist's sake. But I question his footwork.
  17. Were either Boehm or Moos visible at the game?
  18. I'd like to see a nice showing by the fans and the players too. It feels like we have gone full circle in a 2 year time period. I can't get that 40-point home finale drubbing to Michigan in 2017 out of my mind. Hope we don't see that against Iowa.
  19. I know I shouldn't over-react to one game and even a one-month meltdown, but how many times has our program been in this ridiculous position the last 20 years? This is depressing. My heart would like to think better days are ahead, but my head says 6 years from now we will fire another mid-major coach who couldn't take our program out of the dark ages.
  20. I'm trying to remember the last time NU hired an A.D. to fix the basketball program. Anybody remember? Maybe it's time if Moos can't. Seriously, can you see Hank Bounds calling a press conference a couple days after the Penn St fiasco, you know, sort of like Harvey Perlman did in 2007 after the Okie St football game and hiring a new A.D.? Tells you something about where BB stands in this state compared to FB. Of course, I'm not exactly distributing a news flash here.
  21. I wonder which hurts worse. A bloody nose or a root canal? Tanner will tell us tomorrow.
  22. A no-return conference road win against a top 25 team? It doesn't get any better than that.?
  23. By my count, Sunday's game against Iowa will be the first game NU and their opponent were both ranked since playing the Fab 5 Michigan team in the Rainbow Classic on 12/28/1992.
  24. ding-ding-ding! Hey, we were 7-9 just two years ago in 2016. Quite a turnaround.
