Congratulations to Danielle Page for being the first former Nebraska Women's Basketball player to medal in the Olympics! Danielle played a big role in helping Sebia win the bronze medal!

I keep pinching myself to see if this is all real. Nebraska IS becoming a basketball school. So many said it could never happen. Both men's and women's basketball have a tremendous class lined up for next year. The future is certainly bright for both hoops teams. PBA will be a rocking atmosphere the next few years. I AM PUMPED!

Wow! Nice!!! I don't recall this feeling many times in Husker Hoops recruiting history! I'm feeling a little giddy

Deverell Biggs dismissed from the team

Disappointing, for sure... But a coach only gets one opportunity to build a foundation for the program. You've got to build it right the first time. -
'Fans' leaving at 1:19 left in the Game
Slammin1 replied to wrightbackatcha's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Most of the "fans" that leave early while the game is still very much in doubt are probably the same ones that sit politely throughout the rest of the game. They finally feel like they need to stretch their legs a little so quietly walk out so as not to disturb the cheering faithful. -

Sounds like your man cave would be a better venue, more suitable for your particular sensibilities. If you don't like noise and you don't like people standing in your way, Brewsky's won't be a better option. The only time I mind people standing in my way is when they're hanging out in the aisles leaving early or arriving late. Otherwise, if people are standing it's because there's something important happening and I am going to be just as inclined to be on my feet. If people behind me have their view obstructed, they're more than welcome to got on their feet as well. By the way, every fan who pays for a ticket, whether in section 116 or 316, is helping to foot the bill. Spot on Norm! My feelings exactly. I would add that players and coaches feed off the fans going crazy. A home court advantage does come from fans sitting and politely applauding when good things happen on the court.
-
My seats are currently in the 200 level at center court. I would say that probably 40-50% of the fans in the section are serious fans and are active in supporting the team. Most were near me in the Devaney for several years. We have a couple that are convinced the refs can hear them when they express their opinions. I would sit anywhere in the PBA if there was an opportunity to have an entire section of real, active, loud, passionate fans.

The coach really calls out their freshman post player in her post game comments calling her poor play the biggest factor in the loss. Interesting...
-
whoop- Connie always has the position players sit next to their individual position coaches on the bench. The bigs sit next to coach Shimmy and the guards sit next to coach Smallwood and Finch. They coach the girls on the bench during the game. Unfortunately since Simon left, we only have 3 bigs on the roster and two are in the game at almost all times. That leaves the one all by herself on the bench next to her coach.

I know Katie hadn't played much to this point but we could've really used her in conference play. If in fact she did leave, that hurts. Ally would be the only front court substitute. Not sure she is quite ready for those types of minutes. We could be one injury away from a disastrous season. I hope for the best!

Bon Jovi for Nebrasketball: Do we need to stop it?
Slammin1 replied to hhcmatt's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I'm not completely sold on the Bon Jovi song but it could be worse. After seeing the UNL drum line perform prior to the 4th quarter of football games this year, I think we could somehow incorporate them into the beginning of games. They have a lot of fun performing and could really get the crowd involved. -
Thanks Row 6! That is a very impressive list. With one solid verbal already, one or two more from that list would make for an impressive class. That on top of what appears to be a very good class for next year bodes for a bright future. PBA could be one hoppin joint in the years to come!

I am in row 4 of section 219 which is mid court for men's games. It is a long way up but the view is good! For the women's games I am in row 1 of section 101. I am actually a little concerned about being too low there with people walking in front, cheerleaders standing... I am sure I'll get used to the cheerleaders...
