  1. A lot of people talk about spacing, and I agree with them. I am watching Notre Dame against Kentucky. One thing I would like to see is get the ball out of the net and try to push when the other team allows. It's difficult in the Big 10 because teams are so well coached to get back on defense, but I still would look for "cheap" points. Press at times, beat the other team down the court. If you can't shoot it's one way to get some points.
  2. Utah just got a huge hose job. They called a terrible foul call on Utah's PG, which was his 3rd with 5 minutes to go in the 1st half. Not to mention the countless travels Duke's big men have committed.
  3. Yup. If we land Michael Edwards out of Michigan, it's going to be the same thing. Anyone who is 6'9"+ and ready to go as a freshman is a rarity and probably a 4+ star kid. Or go to Kentucky and be in the NBA the next year. And the checkbook Kentucky can open up with no salary cap restrictions.
  4. This is my list for players that will leave us this year, in the order of probability Petteway, most likely to go pro Hammond, did not get much playing time. Some problems with academics. Fuller, not much playing time. A heady player, though Tai, might want to give up on college ball, and head to NZ pro league. Benny/Shields/Walt/White/Smith, don't think any will leave. Would be floored if any leave.
  5. I think it was a combination of over performing last year, and under performing this year. We should have probably been an NIT team both years. It's a funny thing, that confidence. I think it had a lot to do with our winning streak last year, and the lack of it had a lot to do with our losing streak this year.
  6. This season came down to shooting. We couldn't shoot. It is why our half court offense looked awful at times. White, Shields, Petteway, Tai, and Walt can shoot better, and it would make a huge difference in what our offense looked like. We shot 28 % from 3. That is awful for a Division I program. There are junior high teams that can shoot better. I think it is mental. We shoot an average 33 %, and that is almost 3 points per game extra. Also, we have to figure out how to get to the line. Whether that means we take acting classes, stop complaining, or something, we have to learn to get to the line, consistently.
  7. If Terran and another player leave, I would look for a JC guy and a HS guy. If Terran stays and we have one spot, I would go JC. If Terran is the only one to leave, I would go JC. I think it might be too late in the process to get a solid HS guy that you can count on for 4 or 5 years. Unless the coaches are telling them that if someone leaves, they have a spot open, and the kid is willing to wait, I would pass on HS. As for Hammond, I think a lot is classroom. The baseball team has a player that struggled with academics his first year. He barely pitched. The coaches insinuated that he was focusing on the classroom, and now is a solid starter. Hopefully, Jake turns that around and bulks up in the off season.
  8. If someone leaves, I would look for a healthy Leslie Smith type player.
  9. It would help if we had someone to grab the rebound, and a shooter.
  10. If you only counted the ones they didn't foul on, it would be about 7.
  11. If I'm this game, if someone goes in the lane just tackle the player, they won't call a foul.
  12. They should lose their minds. I'm shocked they're still in the game.
  13. I am not all convinced that a T cost us anything at this point...check out the offensive stats for us vs. Penn St...that is what is causing us grief...just saying. The score was 40 - 35, and when we got the ball back it was 45 - 35, then we have to sit him, and have no other offense.
  14. Why don't we press? It worked too well the first time we played them?
  15. Terran cost us this game with his bonehead tech.
  16. Glass half full attitude.
  17. A disappointing end to a disappointing season.
  18. At least make it where the team has to HAVE the ball.
  19. I thought you have to have the ball to call timeout.
  20. If only we could make 2 foot shots, this game wouldn't be very close.
  21. If these refs call a travel on Nebraska, I will go through the TV. They have missed at least 3, obvious to everyone, travels on Maryland.
