They were working it hard last night. Fun to watch them get into for their teammates.

I have always loved the flop. I would love to see some of these big boys drop like that when somebody bumped in them at a pub or some guy is hitting on their girlfriend. Like" Hey there Honey" "Don't talk to my girlfriend like that" Slight push, guys goes falling into the bar and then down to the floor. While screaming and arms flay about. "Lets get out of here." "Yeah, way to protect me loser." Okay I have too much time on my hands.

01/22/2013 - Illinois Report Card
Silverbacked1 replied to hhcdave's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Every time you go up a level in any sport your body has to readjust to it. Remember reading about how some rookie that came out of high school to the NBA a few years back was sleeping like 15 hours a day. He went to the doctor and the doctor said your body is telling you that you are just tired and your body needs the rest. Hard to do with classes and studying to get all that in. -

Kind of like you can always tell a Husker Fan, you just can't tell them much. Change is bad. -

Yeah the striping didn't work. It was a fairly good effort by the B section though. I think we as a crowd are worn down too, no energy, even the Red Zone had no life last night. We did make the one run and the crowd was into it, but we then gave up a bucket or two and we go back to sitting on our hands, me included. -

After the game Miles said they will today off because practices are becoming hard. As in they are tired and not crisp at all. Even said that they quit practice early on Monday because of it. They have hit the wall. -

Both coaches being rung up tells volumes about how the game was called. -
I am a little concerned about all the Shields love.

Geez Pimp don't you know that this is a message board and we are to only write things like: best ever, total bust, should transfer, next______. You can't come on here and make thoughtful comments like the one you just did. I mean "Come on Man" I really kind of felt the same way looking at some of the things I read yesterday. The Illini will be on the look out for him. -
We have to hope that the ones that are leaving have heard about Miles comments. They couldn't have read about it because they most likely don't tweet.

I do miss the long white coats and fedora, best uniform for a ref ever.

I think this sums up why they think we win. Not talent but attitude. riles55 Location: Quad Cities Posts: 129 If we can't beat Northwestern on our home floor in front of a sellout crowd, why would anybody think we can beat any Big 10 team on the road? Even if these guys lack what ever it is they lack, the blame goes further than just the players. With a new coach we should see something different than the same old stuff. While they have proven to us they can't compete in the Big 10, I would think our new coach with his new system and coaching style, we would at least see them losing in a different way, but it looks like the movie Ground Hog Day. A coach running up and down the sideline ranting and raving and a bunch of lifeless players on the floor. Now that's entertainment. Interesting how many of us are giddy over what is going on and Ill. fans are in melt down mode. Hustle and hard work is rewarded by us not throwing in the towel on them yet.

Sidney Swans are the Creighton of the AFL. And I love me some 13 packs.

I didn't real pull but they didn't seem to make it here. Right now a bunch of University of Cincinnati signed freshman football players are mad because Tubberville isn't honoring the LOI that they signed. Guess he didn't even call them they had to call the school to see what was happening.
-
But didn't Miles pull like 3 other offers?
-
Yes he did. But Miles went down like the day after he was introduced and talked to both Benny and Shavon about still coming here.

Think how many points Jerry Fort would have had if the 3 point line was around then. Saw where the stat guy from LSU looked up the shot charts on Pete Maravich, and according to the chart he would have averaged 13 made 3 pointers a game in his career. That's way when people want to say so ans so was the greatest ever in a sport, I want to know by what rules are they going to be able to play buy. Think of Jordan without the extra step or push off, or allow Oscar Robertson to have the palming. What would Wilt have been like if he was allowed to push guys around like the they do now. -
Then why did Miles go down and ask him to play for Nebraska? He pulled a bunch of the other guys offers so why did he do this if he didn't think that Benny would help? Just seems that if he made the effort to go to KC and keep Benny from going some place else, he wanted him here for 4 years. Not just one and then cut ties. Miles has shown he is willing to play with guys he has picked up at try outs so I don't think he "kept" Benny for any other reason than that he will be a contributor to the team, for more than just this year. I could be wrong but it seems weird if he did.

I think trying to keep 4 star ego in check is harder than x's and o's.

Why do we have these arguments? We will know soon enough, and somebody will be either back or gone. Enjoy what is going on now.

Ryan had a better supporting cast his freshman year than Shavon does this year, I think. He'll need to grow his hair out but I see what you mean cip. -
