Jimmy's trivia overshare of the day: I haven't stayed in Tucumcari since my first trip driving from Kansas to my first job in El Paso in 1968. Don't remember anything about the town except it was on famous Route 66 which later was the name of a tv show starring Marty Milner. Paul Brinegar who played "Wishbone" the cook in the tv show "Rawhide" starring Clint Eastwood was born there. And we once met Clint and took a super eight movie of him when we lived in San Antonio a few years later. I then bought a poncho like Clint wore in spaghetti westerns and wore it until my wife threw it away. I think my brain is now empty to begin the day.
Fun to read this thread today. And a special shoutout goes to coughunter-Y'all come back soon, now. Lamont Cranston + Homer Simpson=Lamont Simpson. (I'm sure all those old enough to have listened to the radio version of The Shadow will understand it, if there are any here).
I was at that game and had totally forgotten the details. I do remember attending a pregame HHC gathering at Barry's which had been organized by Cip, however. Don't want to derail this thread, though. RIP, Dylan, and condolences to his family.
I was impressed by Sanogo last night even though he was outperformed by Kalkbrenner. Wish he had decided to become a Cornhusker and wonder how close we came.
I really want to pick us but in the interest of not jinxing will go with the Badgers, 72-68 since I picked against us at Penn State and OSU. If we win, I want the credit.
That would be Hugh Durham. I remember that game well because for some reason I got tickets in the student section in the first row behind the east goal and watched a Georgia player miss some crucial free throws toward the end as everyone chanted "Clank-ston".
