Keeping Up with Old Friends (The Transferred Thread)

Happy for JL, but I’m good with RW. Something to be said for chemistry. -
uneblinstu's postgame chatter : vol 17; ed 11- Hawai'i

I think it’s a mistake to compare this year to last year. While we are turning the ball over more, we are also getting more turnovers. We are much better rebounding and defensive team. We are an extremely deep team. We have 3 potential volume scorers. I’m not concerned with RW. We are better with him on the court. SH has taken a diminished role, however his impact coming off the bench is noticeable. We all know what he brings to the table and it’s all good. Interesting CE low production against UH, even though he played 20 min. Didn’t even notice him. Need to find ways to get him involved in the offense. AM needs to be more consistent. -

I was really worried coming into the season if JG and BW were going to have to carry this team on their back. SH coming off the bench as an after thought. Current NET is 33 before this game. -
With that being the case then we for sure need at least 2 bigs.

As someone who doesn't follow recruiting very closely this is some good info. I have big concerns about Ulis eligibility. Our luck is that when these sorts of issues drag out related eligibility the less likely it is to work in our favor. Does anyone have a timeline for a decision? Just based on what we have now it looks like we only have one more open starter/rotation slot and that needs to be a big. Even w/o Ulis we are still stocked at Guard. With HCFH propensity to run 3 guards I have high hopes for Jano to break into the lineup in that 8th spot. The only things we know for sure are that BW and RM will be starters. JG will begin the season as a starter. This roster, right now, has a lot of flexibility and more athleticism. We didn't lose a single guy to the portal that I was disappointed to lose. While losing that many guys does look bad; to me it was more like a control burn.

100%. This was very obvious watching our last 2 games. This is the evolution and I'm very pleased.

Someone said we need a replacement for KT…
-
We need to run it back. What ratchet ups the pressure is when it is so long between appearances. The core of this group in Mast, Gary, and Williams will be back add to that Lawerence and a more experienced Rice and Diop. Now just need a few pieces

Definitely Bando. We needed a lock down perimeter defender. -

So you are putting this on him? He scored 21pts. Every team’s best defender was on him. He was grabbed and pulled in every game. Defensively he improved every season. He wasn’t an elite defender, however he was average. His scoring more than offset any defensive deficiencies. It will be very difficult to replace him. Best pure shooter since Pike. -

The timing of him leaving was an omen. I’ll never forgive him for what he did. Call me unreasonable, I don’t care. It was a huge distraction at the worst possible time. -

I’m sick to my stomach. A&M shot the ball way beyond their season averages. I thought in the second half they would return to the mean but they didn’t. Love this team and always will. We need some dudes. 1on1 we were out matched. -
It was reviewed, as a potential flagrant, because of how the KU player fell down. That was the shortest review every.

KU got very lucky last night. That block being called a foul on the dunk attempt changed that game.

Yep. I can’t watch with casual fans who are going to say stupid things and spill beer everywhere.

I'm watching this one at home. Every part of mental being will be there with you all at the game. GBR! As a reminder don't forget that the Women's team is also playing later in the evening after the Men's game is over.

Duquesne is pretty good. BTW, our 89 against them is the most they’ve allowed all year.

In the age of the portal it is very important to have both a strong culture and a coach that can manage high levels of change.

I wonder if this hire will have the added benefit of him being the bridge that would finally get UNMC to group with UNL which in turn would give us a path too return the AAU?

I watched my first Husker basketball game ...
Ron Mexico replied to Norm Peterson's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Mine was the BDSC in 1990, my freshman year in the student section, vs current BIG foe MSU. Not only was it my first Nebraska BB game it was my first College BB game ever. Before I went to school at Nebraska I didn't ever consider any other sports there other than Football. I was a huge NBA fan because I grew up in San Antonio and this was just the beginning of the David Robinson era. I used to go to NBA games all the time and saw George Gervin play often. Still one of my favorite players of all time. This was a great time to be a Spurs fan. Anyway, seeing the Huskers play up and close got me hooked instantly. Of course I was lucky, however I never thought this would be the high water mark for seasons. A few notes about that season I remember the most: 1. Losing to Murray State. Murray who? Oh yeah the Murray State team that had Popeye Jones and made the NCAA's. 2. Not being impressed by the Big 10 after we beat Illinois (neutral), MSU (home), and Wisconsin (away). 3. The student section! -
