Well I keep hearing how Trev is cut throat because he gutted football and wrestling at his old job. Maybe he's actually a methodical AD that realizes he has resources to help coaches instead of trying to fire his way to success. Like I mentioned in the other thread I have no problem if he has the "Frost talk" with Fred. I don't believe making some changes/setting certain goals to save a coaches job is a bad thing. The football team has had a nice off season thus far, I don't believe waiting it out a year will hurt that program nor do I think it would hurt the basketball program either.

I will say I'm happy with the changes Frost made and think it's possible the football team will be good next year *winning record. With Hoibergs buyout I don't think he's going anywhere. Trev is going to need to the same talk with him that he had with Frost. Changes will need to be made and baselines will need to be set. Will it change anything? who knows. I will say I don't believe Hoiberg was a bad coach his time at ISU wasn't lighting in a bottle but something definitely changed since he went to the NBA/Nebraska. Entirely possible with all the money he's made perhaps the same fire isn't there that was at ISU or perhaps times have caught up with him like Pelini.

The record unfortunately speaks for itself however I don't consider him on the hot seat due to that buyout. I think this program dwindles until his buyout is more reachable.

Fred won't last long if he can't get some guys who can rebound. Yeah those FT misses by Mayen were bad but that offensive rebound that led to a foul on the other end was just as bad if not worse. Gotta rebound in this league.

I will be thrilled if they go 1-4 in the next 5 it's a dandy of a schedule. At that point they are pretty much out of the tourney. But seriously if this team SOMEHOW made the NIT would we not consider that a success?

Hopefully we can string something together in conference play. I know many on here seem done or close to done with the Hoiberg expirement. I just don't see any good moving on after 3 seasons despite it being 3 terrible seasons. I'm hoping this year is just a case of biting off more than they can chew with a couple of guys who likely won't be here next year. One thing we can say is we have guys you can work with for the next few seasons. Haven't been able to say that in awhile.

Rewatching the game on EspnU. One thing I noticed about Fred this game is alot of Mike Riley vibes with similar mannerisms. As far as the game the ball movement was much better.
