I thought WE would be the Buckeyes in this Tournament…

What are the AD expectations for Fred next year?
Handy Johnson replied to huskerbill85's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
We need to strike Gold in the Transfer Portal with a Dynamic Wing Player, a PG & a Post. We’re counting on players in Lloyd & Rice who haven’t played a minute of B1G Basketball to contribute immediately. They could just as easily fall flat on their face, the examples of that are too numerous to mention. BUT we have a solid core returning & a modest level of success to build on… -
Of ALL the things that need to happen for us to be GOOD next year, Wilhelm’s development is about 10th on the list.
-
I agree Norm, & those couple things are Rebounding & Developing 1-2 Pet Moves around the Basket. As you said he’s never going to be a polished all-around player, but there’s an upside there for improvement.
-
Yeah, but you could always tell that Keisa could shoot the ball. BnB as a stand still shooter is poor & even worse off the dribble. He’s Tall & he’s scrappy & that needs to be enough.
-
If we’re counting on Wilhelm to be anything but a Bit Player, we’re in a LOT of Trouble.

Fred deserves a Tip of the Cap. When Bandoumel went down, based on the 3 previous years we had zero, ZERO reason to believe our best Basketball was ahead of us. But here we are…

My All-Time favorite Husker. Patterned my Low Post game after his in High School.

Replacing Walker will be a tall order (pun intended) Ben Johnson referred to him as an All-League Player several times on his radio show today. I’m using Chucky as an example, but a Veteran PG & Post are equally important.

HHCC Standings - End of Week 17

The Sun shines on every Dog’s A** once in awhile, & I’m still Man enough to admit I wanted Brady Heiman to start as a Freshman. -
Jamarques Lawrence named B1G Freshman of the Week

He’s now my favorite Freshman since Joe McCray! -
It’s tempting to think we would’ve incorporated the shooters MORE into the lineup as the season unfolded, parsing out minutes & maybe even bringing Gary off the bench. I hate having guys on the team that can’t shoot, & our record this past month speaks for itself. BUT then I think of Gary @ Minnesota & Emmanuel’s on ball defense & maturity. “Ya Dance with the Girl that Brung Ya” however so this is a paradox we can ponder after we Win that Trophy

We finished AHEAD of Wisconsin & THE Ohio St. Love it…!!!

uneblinstu's postgame chatter: vol 15, ed 31: at Iowa
Handy Johnson replied to HuskerFever's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
It was almost FOUR years ago to the day that Thor & 5 other Huskers beat Iowa on OUR Senior Day affectionately known as “No Quit” Sunday. -

He gave a great postgame interview with Kent & reminded him this season is FAR from over… -
I’m as excited as anyone for the players we have coming back & the valuable experience they’ve gained down the stretch, but if we add a Chucky Hepbern or someone of that ilk we could easily make the jump from 11 to 4.

HHCC Game #32 - neut. Minnesota (Mar. 8, 8:00 PM CST)

Cornhuskers 74 - 65 2 -
The “X” factor is obviously getting that Player in the Portal that could take us to the next level. Who that might be I can only speculate, but they’ll have more to do with our success than the foundation that’s already laid.

At Willie’s 70th Birthday Party Kris Kristopherson told Toby in no uncertain terms what he thought of his contribution to Country Music. Since this is a PG-13 Forum, you’ll have to look it up yourself, but trust me, it’s worth it…

Well, it’s the Border Battle so throw the records out the window. Plus the Gopher’s are feeling their Oats after that 2nd Conference Win so it might be tougher for Bucky than you think…
