He'll be at Sunrise Academy for two years, then join the Huskers at age 20 with 4 years to play. This is what I've read.

Of course having "too many" good players is a nice problem to have, I just don't want to waste a year of eligibility on a real talent who might not get alot of minutes. Not a big Parker fan myself, but they won't redshirt him his sophmore year so Hawkins can play. Performance will sort all of this out.

Nothing but speculation on my part, but he seems to be the most likely candidate. Perhaps nagging injuries could alter the "big picture" plan, but I don't see him getting enough minutes to keep him in the rotation.

Here's why you should hate Jon Bon Jovi. In 1989 the Replacements were on the cover of Musician magazine and the headline read "The Last Great Band of the 80's". JBJ saw this and said he had never heard of the Replacements. Not that he didn't LIKE the Replacements, he had never HEARD of them.

I've got us on 20 - 25 wins myself. I see at least 10 Conference wins and a top half finish. What's always puzzled me is the casual sports fan who LOVES the football team, but has NO interest in the basketball squad. If you have 0 interest in the basketball program, why even bother responding to the poll at all? Knuckleheads.

There is a poll in the paper this morning concerning the success or interest in the upcoming hoops season. 20% have us on 10-14 wins, 38% have us on 15-19, and another 20 have no interest (bluebird fans?). Anyway, so 8 out of 10 people think we're going to mediocre/bad or just don't care. I know this shouldn't make me want to bang my head against a wall, but it does.

Yes, I will probably be totally pumped until I see Petteway throw up a brick from 3 using form that would make Norm cringe, or Biggs play phantom defense, or Smith get stuffed by Vooch b/c he is really on 6'6", or Fuller get blown by when playing defense b/c he has lead feet, or Tai dribble the ball of his leg 5 times in a row . . . WAIT! SORRY! I MUST NOT GO THERE! I am just so conditioned after 12 years of Collier and Doc to expect the worst b/c the new "recruits" never lived up to the hype. It is a hard habit to break when it has been ingrained in your head year after year after year. Will this be the year to break the curse? Yes, One of these years (This One) we're going to be a whole hell of alot better than maybe even the most sunshine and rainbow fans want to believe. I'd bet my naked picture of Bob Devaney on it!
