OK... I'm going to reign this thread back in. Over/Under, how many weeks until we're back in the Top 25? I'll say 3, after knocking off Michigan St at home and getting our Conference record back over .500 at 4-3 we will re-enter the rankings and remain in the high teens to "those receiving votes" for the remainder of the season.

I thought Tai Webster was overmatched at the D1 level his first two years, and he turned out to be a rock star. Petteway, Pitchford, even Palmer and Copeland were bit players at their previous institutions. Some guys do just need a change of scenery and more minutes... hard to say how much we've "Coached em Up" but they've all been huge contributers.

Don’t underestimate how much we miss Evan Taylor & Anton Gill, not only for their steady play and points off the bench, but we don’t have anyone that has filled those roles. We miss Amir for the minutes he allowed us to spell Glynn & the D he provided. And we never even got to see what Karrington Davis has to show...

My expectations were (are) to win the B1G, so I expected whatever rankings went along with that. I’d say your Conference champ will have ballpark 5-6 losses so that has become highly unlikely for us. Of course there’s always the Conference tourney & the automatic bid. P.S. I saw a double feature at the Drive In movie in Bellevue last summer Fast times/Animal House, forever funny as hell.

I’m sure a lot of you might have seen this in the morning LJS, but the number flat out floored me. Nebraska has been playing basketball for over 120 years & yesterday was the 9th time, NINTH, a ranked Nebraska team has played a ranked opponent, ever. Obviously this is where a lot of the “Here We Go Again” sentiment stems from regarding yesterday’s loss & 1-3 start. With that in mind, looks like we’re all going to find out what this team is made of.

I wouldn’t run up the white flag just yet. Winning the Indiana & Michigan St games wouldn’t be OMG type wins like when we knocked off the Hoosiers with Bo Spencer. Let’s get Penn St this week and move on from there...

We need to get more from Roby & Copeland down on the block, plain & simple. We settled for WAY too many threes & got almost nothing in transition.

The games we have that are "winnable" to "highly winnable" we really need to get, and I would put this one in that camp. Especially as HB13 mentioned with the Hoosiers & Spartans on the horizon, you don't want to be climbing out of a 1-3 hole...

This is just the reality of a “dieing” rural America. Superior has went from B all the way to C2, Geneva & Hebron have become Fillmore & Thayer Central respectively.

Speaking of the younger Arop, there was a nice article in the paper today about his expanded game and ability to drive. With Burke, Green, Nana, Roby & Akol we have the potential to really light it up on the wing. Would be nice to find a JUCO Center but that’s a discussion for another day...

You should NEVER put your hands on a player in that fashion. You’re the adult, the educator... People will do a lot more for you if they like you than if they’re afraid of you.

Not sure why Bruce is all salty about Tim’s recruiting in Omaha. He had Biggs on the roster and has went after almost every D1 player available. Probably has to do with the Arop kerfuffle...

Larry Klause was the guard from Fairbury that played with Zabel. My old Fraternity brother Tom Vlach led Cedar Catholic over Mt. Michael the following year... speaking of players from that era do you remember All-Staters Randy Edwards or Jim Placke from Superior? Both of them went on to play at Hastings College.

I stumbled onto the Twitter feed for Nebraska Basketball today for the first time today and WOW did they have some scalding takes on the Maryland game. They level of ignorance & bile over there was frankly shocking. Most everyone wants Miles fired tomorrow & the rest have maybe shot hoops in the driveway. Thank God for the Haymarket Hardwood...
