Interesting choice of Webster as your player of the game, I probably would have given it to Biggs. -

I think Pitch threw an elbow That's what the explanation looked like from my vantage point -

Petteway got rattled early when he started missing everything and never bounced back. Miles yelled at him early that everything was going to be okay and then sat and talked with him for a few minutes in the second half. -

Bon Jovi for Nebrasketball: Do we need to stop it?
doc1394 replied to hhcmatt's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
They played the video with like 9 minutes until the game. there wasn't anything that led the team out on the court, which was a little weird and certainly didn't help with the energy in building. I would take Bon Jovi over nothing. -
http://scores.espn.go.com/ncb/boxscore?gameId=400509956 The thing that jumps out to me is the team total of 6 assists. Against better teams we need more assists because those are usually tied to easy baskets. The penetration is nice but we can't have that much of our offense self-created and beat quality teams. Must get easy buckets. +1,000,000,000 Lot of selfish ball in the 2nd half tonight. Guys looking for their own shots, forcing things, out of system junk. Two fast breaks where the one guy tries to take it all the way by himself without even looking for anyone filling a lane -- with predictable results. That crap has to get fixed and now. Well, Benny's Ally-oop attempt would have been pretty sweet

Maybe it's just be, but standing on the side >>> standing behind the basket. Sideline >>>>>>>>> Behind the basket. Agreed -

Petteway pulled in 9 rebounds in the game today, so I can't complain about his play. You can see the determination in the way Benny plays. He is playing as hard as he can. The only reason I'm disappointed in the offense is that we didn't get Runzas. They were up 20 on an opponent they knew they were better than, so I'm not worried about the offense. They shot really well and played fluently when the game was somewhat close. Happy with the defense, other than post defense. Need to find a way, somehow. Still very optimistic about this team. -

Comer and Feeler both had terrible games, so you will be okay once they get back on track

Were there any recruits there last night? This would have been a perfect display of the new facilities and improved fan base. Recruits would have loved it
-
No, I'm about 99% sure that is not the case.

- Got there four hours early and got a front row seat for probably the most anticipated Husker Basketball in my memory. - Student section filled up really fast, and I personally feel like we were pretty loud and involved. - FGCU looked huge and athletic in warm-ups. Wasn't expecting a run-away victory - Pre-game was cool. The Tommy Lee thing was a little weird after the first 30 seconds though. The band got the crowd going. - Awesome start for the 'skers. Needed to keep the crowd into the game and three threes and an and-one from Shields certainly did the trick. - AcroDunk was outstanding. That flip off the back board was something I've never seen before. - Webster was the go-to guy for the first half. He could just slice and dice the defense. His spin move and pass to Rivers was so refreshing and exciting. He has a long way to go to, which is really exciting. - Terran can get to the bucket with ease. A player the Huskers certainly didn't have last year. The banked three was a nice touch too. - I only saw Pitchford post up once, and he didn't really get as many minutes as I think he will the rest of the season. Great shooter, and wasn't a liability on defense tonight, in my opinion. - Benny brought the spark tonight! So much fun to watch him on the break, with his little scoop shot. Very quick, and his hustle play on Comer was awesome. - Shields is a flat out stud, and much more athletic than last year. His game looks like it is resistant to slumps, too, since he is so good at shooting in traffic. - Loved the hook from Vooch! - Hated some of the calls tonight, especially from that tool ref with the spiked hair who made almost every call. The 'skers had 6 team fouls before the first media timeout in the second half. - I wasn't very old during the Husker football dynasty, but I have gone to every football game for the past 5 years or so. I can honestly say that I think this was the best sporting even I've ever been to! Can't wait for the rest of the seaosn!

Actually it looks like I may be wrong about the whole band. I know the drumline is performing, so the band may be as well -

Getting there around 3 or 4 so I can get as close of seats in the student section as possible. Can't wait By the way, I heard that the "pride of all nebraska" will be making an appearance, not just the pep band, so look out for that -
Now THAT line-up would be exciting. Can't wait!
