Selection Committee Games of Interest

Definitely a grind-it-out 55-51 game in Atlanta. Hoping their bubble talk is all said and done for. Georgia Tech is not a good team this year. -
Selection Committee Games of Interest

All is said and done of course, but I'm seeing it from the angle that Penn State has that Tier 1 win that we have zero of. Not sure where that falls in importance in the committee's eyes. -
It's Moos' first year with the program, so that's the wildcard. But President Green and Moos make it pretty clear that the standard they're looking for competitiveness across all athletic programs that have a shot to make postseason play every couple of years. If Miles doesn't make the dance this year, Moos is looking at a coach who has made it once in six years. We'll see where his head is at in the offseason.

I'm not exactly sure how I feel about this. We might be #4 in the conference with 4 teams slated for the tournament and 2 teams on the bubble ahead of us after this game. -
I'm almost certain that it's a lot of fans' superstition that leaving the game early helps the team.

As @hhcdimes has mentioned before, I don't think this is an "earned another year" situation. It's likely a "3 year or gone" sort of situation that Moos has to decide.

@HuskerActuary, getting Nebrasketball into the bubble conversation by fixing one bracket at a time. -

Maybe he's thinking it's either 50% Maryland or it's 50% nobody? -

We still have a few weeks to go, but I think I'm in the mindset that a Friday Big Ten tourney win will get us there. I see the committee looking at our resume and thinking "can they even beat the tourney type of teams?" So if we don't think we can win that game, then we probably do need to start rooting for Michigan. -
Why 'The New Deal' (Fran's contract extension) was kept under wraps at Iowa: https://amp.hawkcentral.com/amp/1075928001 Iowa athletics director Gary Barta on Monday responded with a strong endorsement of his eighth-year men’s basketball coach, calling McCaffery the right man to lead the Hawkeyes “for the long haul.” “When I hired him, he re-energized a broken program. He’s a tireless recruiter. He’s done a great job in recruiting. “I don’t think I’ve ever announced extending a coach’s contract in the middle of the season. The reason I don’t like to do that: It distracts from playing the games, playing the season. “Many times, when we announce coaches’ contracts, it’s for recruiting. In this case, we didn’t need an advantage in recruiting. Recruiting’s been going fine. So I made the decision to wait until the end of the season, knowing full well … it could get out during the season. I hoped that it would be after the season — not because I’m worried about how we’re playing. But I just did not want to have this conversation in the middle of the season. But it is what it is. And there was no conspiracy. “I could’ve announced it. I chose not to. There’s really nothing in it to hide. It’s fair for people to criticize.” Barta confirmed Monday, without revealing the school or number, that there was “more than one” such opportunity. When asked if there were at least two Power Five opportunities, he gave a one-word answer: “Yes.”

HHCC Game #25 - at Wisconsin (Jan. 29, 8:00 PM CST)
HuskerFever replied to HuskerFever's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
My pick of Wisconsin winning at 65 was looking pretty spot on for 42 minutes. Glad we went off on a huge run after that! Huge swing in my points, however. I'll take one for the team -
I think Miles was a little concerned about his roster and his job at the time.

I suppose the seats on the plane have been pretty hot too with four games in eight days and three of those being on the road.

We have been 8-4 or better since 1998-99

Be careful. Didn't Riley just get fired for breaking records that date back to the 1950s? -
Said the one who started an NIT bracket thread after we lost to Ohio State...

It tastes better with hot sauce or ketchup.

Podcasting is hard! It takes a lot of time and dedication.

I think the Big Ten has already locked in on Holtmann. They've got a love affair with the guy this season.
