  1. Outside of Delaware St., this is what they tried to do and a couple of teams ended up being much worse than expected.
  2. So, I ask about MJ and LBJ specifically because he asked about them specifically. Him and his wife adopted him a couple hears ago. The kid is black, they're white and are looking for African American role models to start to introduce him to. I probably won't give them Wilt Chamberlain...
  3. I had someone who knows I'm a big sports fan ask me if I could recommend biographies on major NBA players, he specifically named Jordan and LeBron. I don't read a ton of sports biographies so I didn't have any suggestions. He's got a young son, about 7 or 8 who's really into basketball. Anyone on here have any help here?
  4. That's the same thing Auroran posted.
  5. I had heard that about Parker a couple weeks ago. Just not sure if anything else came of it.
  6. I believe the KC event also comes with a couple cupcakes at PBA. The B1G/ACC game should be a decent one, too. I also think they're playing two of those conf. games early in the year, so we could have a similar stretch like we did this year with MSU, Minn, KU and Creighton.
  7. Been quiet on him since he announced. I thought I heard he was supposed to visit for the Spring Game. Not sure whether that happened or not...I could have been wrong on that.
  8. A comment on in-bounds plays: - I saw a lot, and I mean A TON of teams use very similar action on inbounds play in college basketball, including at some very good programs. It's a safe play that very rarely gets screwed up. - I have seen NU have quite a bit of success on the secondary action off that basic in-bound play. What I guess I'm saying is I think Miles and NU gets a bad wrap here and my thinking has evolved a bit on this. I guess that was two comments...
  9. How many of these games happened concurrently? Games on the same day happen all the time, but I don't recall many happening at the same time.
  10. You've got 3 open scholarships. Need a post player, too, but you can take a guy like Mitchell with that other one without any reservation, IMO.
  11. He's super talented, but he's little. He'd need a year to bulk up. I've been pro Mitchell for a while, I think it'd be a good move, but he's probably not an impact player from day one. I'd still circle back on Wingett. I've been on that train for a couple years now.
  12. They literally were happening at the same time...
  13. NU will have every opportunity next year. Win 13 games with that slate next year and you're in easily. Heck, if it's the right 11, you might be able to get in.
  14. The football brand is still pretty strong. If Frost turns it around like we all hope and think he will, it'll explode again. It's dormant, not weak.
  15. When was the last time this scenario happened?
  16. They hired one of the top 15-20 best coaches in the country and put him in the Dallas/Fort Worth market. He damn well better have success.
  17. So, then, was this a Moos decision or a Bounds one?
  18. Would be a nice rabbit to pull from the hat if he can pull it off. He's pretty slight, but looks really long, too.
  19. Knowing this program not well Fatalism is no fun.
  20. I want to know how the roster shakes out before I settle on how excited I will or won't be for the season.
  21. Yep. HA! I think one thing is clear: The next season is gonna be full of drama, one way or the other.
  22. That's certainly possible, but there are a number of things that could happen that could impact Miles' future here. If he has another 20+ win season, I'm confident they'll be in the tourney. If he does that, he'll be in the catbird seat. We can go round and round about how and why Miles is in the situation he's in and who's at fault, and maybe it's not all on him, but a lot of it is.
  23. A lot of that is on him. He can firm up that ground this season. I get why Moos wouldn't want to give him a long term deal. His tenure here has been more volatile than it has been steady. As much as I maybe disagree with how this whole thing was handled doesn't mean there isn't some merit to it. It's a prove it season for Miles. I do believe he wants to be here and that he wants to be the guy here for a long time. He gets his chance to show he's the guy for the job this season.
  24. I don't believe that's a foregone conclusion at all.
