  1. Merry Christmas! Got some great gifts from the fam this year, hopefully a win tonight will top it off!
  2. This one was fairly predictable. Started off well, looked like they could hang for a while but couldn't keep up vs. a skilled, experienced team. - It was a bizarre start to the game, but NU's energy and intensity really caused problems for Wisconsin. They were the aggressor and Wisconsin didn't seem to respond too well early. - NU didn't seem like the team with the inferior front court early. - What's the deal with Teddy's free throw shooting...? - Wisconsin finally settled in and started hitting some shots... - I like that Coach played him with two fouls, but Teddy's got to learn how to avoid foul trouble more often. - Lat took some shots, which is good, but he seems in his own head right now. He's not even all that close... - Wisconsin started hitting some shots and looked way more comfortable to start the half. - NU found some defensive energy right before the first media time out of the second half. Can they keep that up? - Sitting at about the 14 minute mark of the game and this has been Yvan's best game of his career so far. - And as I say that he gets beat on both ends on consecutive possessions. - Teddy got 'Sconsin'd. Trice hoodwinked that ref on the offensive foul. - Wisconsin just grinds and grinds and grinds. We're not good enough to stand up to that for 40 minutes yet. - Wisconsin had a killer possession that ended with a 3 from Davison. NU responded with a quick, deep 2 that missed. Wisconsin responded with another long possession that ended with a good look from 3 that Davison of course drained... - Surprised we didn't see Andre at all before garbage time. - Wisconsin is a lot different than Doane. I don't think Lakes even got a shot up until there were about 3 minutes left.
  3. Teddy played 25 minutes. Definitely felt closer to 12-15 while I was watching it. I hope he can get a few games where he can stay out of foul trouble.

  5. I know first hand players, coaches and parents know all about this place.
  6. Watched some of the highlights. That was the first time I'd seen Andre in action, obviously, and I'm really curious to see how he develops. He's got a terrific frame. Kind of like Roby in the sense that he doesn't seem to have done much strength training and when he does, could really see him fill out quickly. No idea if he's any good at basketball, but the frame is tantalizing, for sure.
  7. In a battle of my wife's two alma maters, the team that should have won handily, did. I didn't watch one second of this game, so y'all will have to fill in the deets.
  8. Sunvold may be right, but he’s far from unique. I’ve heard almost every analyst saw the same thing about this season.
  9. If the game dubiously ends up on YouTube or something, maybe I’ll watch it there.
  10. Arop has certainly filled out...

  12. The biggest thing I took from that video is that there are some really cool looking gyms in that league.
  13. Loved how they came out of the gates and went toe-to-toe with CU. I like a lot about McGowens game. Maybe not his free throw shooting, but I love his toughness and attitude. He's not gonna back down. Loved the baseline drive by Stevenson, not the forced 3's on his next two shots. He's a fierce rebound, too, which is sorely needed. Mayan was a liability tonight. Yvan can rebound a bit, but he's a liability offensively. I think he'll be a good story in a couple years. It's rough right now. Can't turn the ball over like they have the past two games. That's gotta get fixed. NU actually shot pretty well from 3 tonight, but the turnovers and inability to stop CU's run just didn't give themselves a chance tonight. McGowens had that pretty dunk to bring the margin to 4, I believe. That woke CU up. That's not how it's supposed to work. We saw Banton's potential in the first half. He needs to be at least a marginal threat from 3. He's going to get a lot of defenders that are considerably shorter than him. If he can, he's gonna have a lot of opportunities to get to the rim off the dribble. Thor seems like he found his shot again. That's really good news. Free throw shooting continues to be an issue. Looking at the box score, there's a lot of things look even. The big thing that jumps out at me is, when the teams emptied their benches, NU's A/T was 12/23 and CU was 23/13. NU's got talent to compete, but they're going to have to learn how to stay focused and disciplined for more than 20 minutes. A lot of that comes with experience and experience playing together. Maybe we see some of that develop more as the season progresses, maybe we see it next year. They'll win games more consistently when they get that figured out.
  14. Eh, I wouldn't exactly call that embarrassing. CU's an excellent team. I thought NU showed some of what they're capable of and learned a valuable lesson about needing to stay focused for more than 25 minutes. Everyone knows what CU's capable of. It's not embarrassing to get blown out by them. I thought the Georgia Tech game was way more embarrassing.

  16. I don't like Trey coming off the bench in this game because he's far and away our best front court defender and Creighton has guards that will eat you for lunch if you can't hang. I don't think any of the other perimeter defenders can right now in a man-to-man setting.
  17. First Half: The Huskers got all turnover happy early in the game. That whole business where McGowens jumped in front of Wright to try to draw the foul was just so silly. I don't like the move by McGowens. There's no reason for that to be a technical foul on Mayen. Certainly shouldn't have been a four point play for Georgia Tech... I did like NU's response after that sequence and get 5 quick points. Georgia Tech of course answered with a 5 point spurt of their own. I like Webster the more I get to see him. Huskers got chilly jumpers there for a while... NU doesn't have the shooters to make a team pay for sitting a zone. Lots of slow jumpers today. Halftime: 2nd Half: Quick start for Teddy Buckets in the second half is good. Crispin has a love/hate relationship with McGowens today. McGowens isn't going to be popular in B1G arenas next year. Getting Alvarado in foul trouble might be the deciding factor in this game if NU goes on to win. It's a bummer there was nobody in the building tonight. PBA would have been a frenzy as Webster caught fire from behind the arc. This game is a good test for how to handle crunch time. Tie game with 7 minutes left. Can they make more plays than Georgia Tech? Alvarado was the best player on the court. He really makes GT go. Huskers wilted in the third segment of the second half. NU still has work to do finishing at the rim and making free throws. That was supposed to be something that was going to be markedly improved. It may be better than last year, but it's got a long way to go, still. Teddy Allen just hasn't been good today. This is a really frustrating game. NU had every opportunity to win this game and Georgia Tech was just better the last seven minutes of the game. They were way more disciplined and focused. It felt like they knew what they wanted to get done and NU was just running around hoping something good happened. Seems like Fred got outcoached today. Can't bring this effort and focus on Friday or it's going to be embarrassing.

  19. I’d be stunned if they don’t try to make it up at some point. Won’t be Florida A&M, but it’ll be another buy game.
