  1. Watching Purdue/Northwestern: This feels like NW's No Sit Sunday.
  2. I don't think she's sung yet.
  3. The only game that impacts NU at this point is the one we play. It's all in NU's hands at this point.
  4. Things are coming into focus for NU. Win and you play Iowa on Thursday night. Lose and you play Penn State on Wednesday afternoon.
  5. Now they're mounting a rally.
  6. I hear you, but there's gonna be a transfer. As long as there isn't a second player to leave, we'll be fine. And if one of the coaches gets a chance to be a head coach, I'm not gonna fault them if they take it. And we don't need exponential growth. We need incremetal growth across the board. If a couple of them grow more than that (like Roby or Jordy), that would be ideal.
  7. Well, if we get back to the team we saw most of the time before about two weeks ago, yeah, they might.
  8. - One of the best games I've seen from Jacobson all year. - Thought the effort was good coming out of the gate. They looked a lot more motivated and engaged than they did on Sunday. - One of the better offensive rebounding efforts too. ***Then Minnesota went on their run*** - Lynch is a load. Good lord he's a tough matchup. - Oh, a T on an assistant? With Eichorst on hand? - The last 5 minutes of the first half were just brutal. - How do they let things get away so quickly? NU was right there and then Minnesota just hammered 'em. This team shouldn't be this bad right now. It feels like the whole ball of yarn has completely unraveled. - I don't know if it was coincidental or if it played a part, but this all went to pot after Lee's article...it looks like the players are carrying a burden they shouldn't be asked to carry. - They looked like they were playing out the string. Just no pride. Mostly evident on the defensive end. - I stopped the bullet points somewhere before the 2nd media timeout of the 2nd half...
  9. I've had a job where I did that.
  10. Maybe it's just selection bias, but the times I've watched Virginia it's been very difficult to watch. But looking at their scores, they're better than I thought. And I can't argue with his results. He did win at Washington State, too. Supposedly he turned down Indiana before Crean took the job. I think he'd be a tough get.
  11. Man, Virginia wins and all, but they can be really tough to watch at times...
  12. Prolly depends on how football goes this fall.
  13. ...Damon was talking about the fans leaving early like that was a new phenomenon...
  14. There's 9 in the rotation right now and he's a frosh, too. That's 7 of your 9. That's a pretty significant jump from last year.
  15. We're quite a bit younger this year. Last year they also had the Spain trip on the front end. Last year's decision was Shavon and Benny's. This year, it's likely Tai's, unless Miles values the experience for the seven returning freshmen and sophomores.
  16. I just did a quick survey of shooting percentages this century, just shooting percentage, not broken down by home or road or anything like that. I'm finding a strong correlation between NU having higher shooting percentages with the years they've had their best shooters. I think that's the bigger issue. For instance, in the four seasons, including this one at PBA, their best shooting percentage, by about 20 points was the one that had HWSNBN III on it. Get better shooters.
  17. Ed Chang is in the '18 class. Fuller staying or going won't have any impact on that. It's expected Fuller will go the grad transfer route after the year. I'd like to see another senior transfer guard take that spot or a HS kid.
  18. I want nothing to do with Bruce Weber.
  19. They also lost to Maryland, Penn St. and Purdue, teams we beat. Illinois still has something to play for. They'll be looking at the last 3 games of their schedule as winnable as well, and then similarly hoping to make a run in DC. We'll get a rested, motivated Illinois team.
  20. I'm not a big fan of McDonald's anyway. Does Chick-fil-A have any All-Americans?
  21. To get Purdue off the 1 line, they need to lose twice. They've got roadies at Michigan and Northwestern. Obviously, the ideal scenario would be to get win out and get the #7 seed. There are plausible scenarios where NU can go 3-0 the rest of the way and still finish on the 8 line. I think I found one where they can go 2-1 and be the 7, too. But I've ran several now and didn't write them down, so I could be getting them mixed up. I haven't found a way to move us above the 7, so I think that's the ceiling.
  22. Yeah, came out with 5 minutes or so to go. I woulda probably done it at about the under 8 time out, but he sat a bunch down the stretch.
  23. Eh, not much to say. Tough night all around. It happens. Brush it off, beat Illinois.
