This is Why I Don't Like Adidas...
uneblinstu replied to HuskerFever's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
For an anti-adidas thread, there are a lot of pro-adidas posts in it. -
So, The Team Which Must Not Be Named hasn't offered him, huh?

I hope the coaches wear early 90's style suits, too. -
Dang, more than 40 of those points came in the 4th quarter. What's nuts is that despite him scoring 92, his teammates still scored more than 50 more points to add to that. That's nuts. Not good basketball either.

How does next season end (assuming Miles is retained)?
uneblinstu replied to PimpMario's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Fair enough. I'd be stunned if that's how it played out here *IF* Miles was booted, though. -

uneblinstu's Post Game Chatter: Vol 9, Ed 23 - Iowa
uneblinstu replied to uneblinstu's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Does the rule book treat it like an injury? I honestly don't know. When the same thing happened to Glynn they didn't stop play. He did throw it out of bounds, though, so perhaps that's the difference. -
I think there's a lot more there from him, but we may never got to see it realized. A shame when that happens.

We never got a look at Gill at 100%. I don't know if he'll get there before the start of next season. That's a bummer because I think there's talent enough there to help the team win games.

He definitely saw it. He also said to have that model removed from circulation. Also, that was one of the more impressive moves from Jordy. -

I think it's that specific model. Don't expect to see them worn any more. -

Just got back from the game. Carver-Hawkeye is a really great place to watch a game. Great set up, they've maintained it well. It's in the Bramledge/Hearns Center/Coors Event Center mold. The building was about 75% full. And the next time anyone complains about the atmosphere at PBA, CHA wasn't better. They didn't make any noise at all the first half. There were really only two possessions where they made any noise at all and both were when Iowa was up 6 or more. So, spare me any more "It's not like this at other places" critique of PBA. I think most places are like that, honestly. They used some pyrotechnics for the Iowa player introductions, which was cool and all, but beyond that, it's a better production here. The crowd was fairly uninterested in the Nebraska intros. There were maybe 100 students that added "sucks" after the PA guy announced the Husker players. Frankly, that's a lot ruder than what we do at PBA. I do wonder what it's like when they have what they perceive as a "big" game. They (the crowd) didn't act like they thought it was a big game. Notes: - Congrats to Tai for notching his 1000th point! That's a huge accomplishment. Fewer than 30 players in the history of the program have done that. - Man, the foul trouble with Jordy and Jacobson really hampered NU's effort. - Thought Jordy played well on the offensive end. He's really rounding into an outstanding player. Iowa really struggled to slow him down. He might have had a huge game if not for the foul trouble. - It was really unfortunate when he picked up his 3rd. Miles wanted to put in Jacobson, but he was getting some work done with the trainer. In that 30 seconds of game play, Jordy picked up his 3rd. That really hurt. - Thought Jack had perhaps his best game as a Husker. - The 3 pointer is the bane of Nebrasketball's existence. - Glynn's gotta be hurting. - Roby, man, he's gonna burst out of that bubble soon. It's right there on the cusp. He's gotta get tougher, though. Can't play afraid of diving a loose ball. He's not the only one, but it stands out with him. He's got all the talent and potential in the world. Once the mental side of the game clicks for him, he's gonna be great. - Every time out, every single one, I feel like we get a tantalizing taste of what this team could be. It's a different guy each night, it seems, but, like I said with Roby, once it clicks for them as a group, it's gonna be fun. The waiting is the hardest part. Alright, I'm tired. It's been a long day. I'm turning in. Keep the faith, Nebrasketball fans.

I went back and watched the start of the second half, mostly because I wanted to see the inverview with Lue, but early in the half, with MSU up five, Tai turned the corner, drove to the rim and drew the foul. They called it on the floor, but it probably should have been an and-1 with a chance to call it to two. On the ensuing possession, NU took a bad shot or turned it over or something which led to a MSU runout and got an easy layup. I wonder how the game would have changed had that shot counted and Tai gone to the line. That was a pretty significant 5 point swing. There was a sketchy offensive foul called on Tai a couple of possessions later that was farily head scratching, too. I just wonder, that's all. Alright, I'm done with MSU. On to Iowa.

Nope.

I'd take Ed over Michael at this point. I wouldn't be surprised at all if MJ make a big jump offensively next year. It's not like he's throwing darts scatter shot off the backboard. He's just a little short, usually, almost always on line. The potential is there for him to make a big jump next season. He doesn't need to be a 3 point shooter. It will be interesting to see where Copeland fits in. We don't know much about his work ethic or practice habits or any of that, but the raw material there is pretty tantalizing. And how close to 100% can Gill get? That's a pretty big wild card in there, too. We never got to see that version of AG. It's going to be a really compelling off season and lead up into next year's team.

Hear that Husker Power is going to be killed
uneblinstu replied to hhcmatt's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
They did yesterday. It wasn't the loudest ever, but it was pretty solid. -
I'm reeeeeeally curious to see how this all plays out next year. Personally, I think if Ed is healthy, he'll be there. I'd like to see a front court of Jordy and Ed. I think it could be pretty stout. So, personally I'd say there are 2 spots up for grabs, but I like having all those options.

I'm not killing off anything.

It's "maybe next year" for about 99.7% of all teams in all sports It might be higher than that depending on what you benchmark is. I think this team's better than last year's and I think next year's will be better than this.

To get to 9 wins, Penn St, Illinois, Michigan become must wins. Gotta find two others before the B1G Tourney.
