  1. Just when I got angry and left them for dead….they pull me back in!!! Great win, that was a joy to watch.
  2. After my meltdown last night, I feel surprisingly refreshed. Maybe it’s the entire pot of coffee. I don’t think I can truly emotionally and financially invest in Nebraska basketball anymore. There’s just too many poor decisions and incompetence. If the athletic department doesn’t care enough, I have a hard time finding the effort to really care either, at least at the level I currently do. The amount of season tickets I purchase, the donations, and the time commitment to drive from Omaha to Lincoln for home games is just too much from what I am getting in return. I’ll always be a fan, I’ll always tune in and cheer no matter how bad we are. I think I’m just going to get nosebleeds next year and not donate anymore. I’ll still make it to a few games. Hopefully someone else can enjoy our seats. It’s not like I give that much money, I doubt they will even miss it. I still believe this team can be pretty good. Hoping to get back on track and get these things figured out. There is some talent if we can get it to gel. I’ll be there Sunday at 5:30 hoping we can get right. Even if it doesn’t work out for Fred here, he’s an excellent human being and he coaches for the right reasons. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting him a few times, just a great person. If Nebraska makes the decision to keep rolling with Fred, I’ll come to terms with it because of his character.
  3. Exactly. He has a history of making poor decisions. He retained Frost and let Kalen DeBoer go and it was a such a bad decision he had to fire Frost after like three games. If Rhule works out though I would say he redeemed himself. Firing Hoiberg was a no-brainer. Historically bad coach at a historically bad basketball school. But hey, let’s bump him up to his old salary and let it fly.
  4. Because that’s what Trev does. Hoiberg will probably get another raise and we will enjoy another season of the Zooperstars and students from opposing teams sitting front row at our arena.
  5. Hard to know. Trev loves bringing back historically bad coaches.
  6. Ditto on Trev and the athletic department. I don’t want to trash them, but they really don’t look like they care a whole lot about the men’s basketball program. Between that and the halftime entertainment, it was a bad look. If you’re going to run it back with a historically bad coach, one would think you would be a little more concerned with the optics and the product. This is a red letter game, why wouldn’t they have better halftime entertainment? I mean we aren’t playing at the Bob anymore. At least try to look like you care. We packed the house and created a great environment, stop taking the fans for granted. They may not always be there. Care more. Just my two cents. Go beat Minnesota.
  7. I think so. Likely bolstered by the Tradition Coalition. Ultimately it’s not my money if things go south, so I’m not all that passionate about this one way or the other. The notion that Trev would be poached by a big time school is premature in my opinion. Hopefully everyone wants him soon, that would be great for us. I just can’t see some SEC school clamoring for an AD who retains 3 win football coaches and throws away seasons despite strong evidence against doing so. Big football schools would have made him fire the coach or flat out canned the AD. Regardless. I think Trev is going to be here a while and I welcome stability. It would be great if Trev was here the next 8 years and got our men’s programs competitive again. Perhaps it may be premature but it could work out very well in the end.
  8. Just real clown stuff from the University. Our men’s sports have never been this bad ever. Understand that Trev didn’t cause it, but maybe let’s be a little more practical until we aren’t the gutter dumpster of men’s P5 sports before we lock up an AD who hasn’t really proven anything to a mega contract. I mean he made a terrible decision on retaining Frost and letting Kalen DeBoer go only to have to throw an entire season away and fire Frost early for a big penalty. Now I am optimistic about the Rhule hire, but it’s too early to tell. Giving Fred another year (to me) was a huge risk that quite frankly wouldn’t fly anywhere else. Like Fred and the current team a lot but if he goes .500 or worse again this year it was a horrible decision. Hopefully Rhule and Fred get it going. But until they do, I don’t see any reason to lock up Trev (like that anyway). I like Trev, too. I just think it’s silly. My two cents, I’m sure others will disagree.
  9. As someone who was behind making coaching change earlier this year, I am excited for this commitment. This kid can flat out hoop. If Fred can parlay the upcoming season into a success, this will be an excellent building block moving forward.
  10. They would be the most intriguing backcourt around for sure. That’s a lot of threes that are going to get chucked up though. When they are going in, look out. When they aren’t, there’s not enough defense there to prevent from getting rolled on. It would be entertaining no doubt though.
