I don't get the feeling around here that people are inferring he isn't a power-5 talent. The staff seems like they've been pretty clear about who they wanted to keep around from the Miles era and Williams was on that list. The issue Williams had was that they were recruiting over him in the present and unfortunately some of that is due to his injury. Are we having this conversation if DW tore up AAU last year? As far as OSU, Bama, VT, etc the unfortunate position he might end up in is the same one he's trying to avoid at Nebraska. A lot of people recruited Eron Gordon; it didn't end up with him becoming a star. To me it really matters if either we are not winning or if DW turns into Jarrett Culver. Even then the answer might not be fair...sometimes it's all about finding the right fit. It also matters if it might cost us some other local recruit.

HCFH likes to play 7-9 guys which means 4-6 guys are typically not playing. Unless he's not developing his skill set which seems hard to imagine, it's more like a matter of when than if you'll see him in the rotation. Is that next year? In two years?

This is the Hoiberg era; we will recruit the type of personality you are panning here 24/7 if we think he's a difference maker. Besides his offensive mind the point of HCFH is he has the gravitas that it takes to put together a team filled with divas. What is possibly one more, especially given off the court he is a net positive? To me it seems like the staff thinks he's good enough to come here but not he's not a difference maker to the point where we need to make sure he comes here. Questions to be answered that seem to me like they matter: Who are we using his scholarship for? Is DW a difference maker and if so, when does that happen? Will there be a price to pay for letting the highest regarded recruit this decade from Lincoln walk?

Seemed like he was locked in the rest of the game. Was he throwing a tantrum or was he just frustrated with himself?

Also, we could just be trying to build up the program enough in order to hire Craig Smith

I'm joking of course but Texas Tech was basically an NBA kid (that they sort of lucked into in a sense) surrounded by 3 transfers and an Italian shooter. If we put together some sort of viable team next year I think we could actually look real attractive to a One and done type.

Year 1 - lose Year 2 - NCAA tournamentish Year 3 - Win NCAA tournament and then leave

If we signed this guy we would be looking at 10 Juniors and Seniors for the class of 2021-22

I've been laughing for the last two minutes straight.

Stretch 4. He's 6'9" 210 so he'd play 4-5 for us. Highly regarded out of Australia, committed to TCU when they had Australian recruiting machine David Patrick. He redshirted his freshman year and then showed flashes playing sporadically last season before a knee injury ended his season after 17 games. He decided to transfer and ended up at Chipola College. http://www.verbalcommits.com/players/lat-mayen Has an outside stroke and can rebound so he has a skill set we're looking for.

It's amazing he's as streaky as he is which would imply he has a memory because when he would get back on defense he looked like Scott Bakula just jumped into his body. -
It's some Creighton guy doing the Chewlies gum bit from Clerks

To me it seems like we were proactive in this instance as the last draw for Williams was us signing Teddy Allen. Not sure how much it would matter for the staff to have actually seen him in action as he's been injured since he started...are we more aggressive with him had he been tearing up AAU last summer?

Give me Iowa St and in the future he's the player to be named later in the Michael Jacobson trade.

Nebraska Cornhuskers (5-6) vs North Dakota Fighting Hawks (5-7) Date: Saturday Dec 21th, 2019 Time: 5:00 p.m. Arena: Pinnacle Bank Arena (15,000, 29th largest in D-I) Broadcast: BTN+ North Dakota Head Coach: Paul Sather Location: Grand Forks, ND Conference: Big Sky Nickname: Fighting Hawks Line: Nebraska by 10 Typical Rotation Depth: 8+ KenPom rank: 253 Previous history: Nebraska is 3-1 all time vs North Dakota. Were beat down by in Grand Forks by the North Dakota Fighting Sioux in 1933. The Huskers would win at home in 1934 and the two teams wouldn't meet again until 2011. Shirt not to wear: Green, Philadelphia Eagles Offensive Style: Slow Defensive Style: Guard the 3 Key Injuries: Backup shooting guard Aanen Moody Key Suspensions: None. Jervay Green is back Hoiberg Presser Thorbjarnarson Presser The two takeaways here are Jervay Green being active again and Nebraska staying locked into this game and not looking ahead to leaving for the holidays. Players to watch: Marlon Stewart The former Creighton point guard leads the team in scoring and assists. Currently is hitting at 42% from 3. Stewart was the starting PG two years ago and scored 20 points at the PBA in a 22 point loss. Players to watch: Filip Rebraca The 6'9" sophomore center is the 2nd leading scorer on the team and the leading rebounder. He doesn't shoot from outside but is a high end FT shooter and can knock down mid range shots. Roster points PG SG SF PF C Pct 1 1 Marlon Stewart 6-3 209 Sr 3 Billy Brown 6-3 195 Sr 34 De'Sean Allen-Eikens 6-6 212 Fr 23 Kienan Walter 6-9 205 Sr 12 Filip Rebraca 6-9 220 So 31.3 Though not a lot of bulk, the Fighting Hawks do throw length at you Allen-Eikens is an aggressive inside scorer with an outside shot that hasn't fallen this year Walter is a stretch four Brown is a lock down defender though an unaggressive shooter 6'4 Fr Brady Danielson has been pretty bad offensively though has carved out a large role off the bench 6'7" Fr Gertautas Urbonavicius has been aggressive with his shot but is foul prone and only plays spot minutes 6'1" So guard Davids Atelbauers is just depth The Skinny: First year coach Paul Sather comes to North Dakota from Div II Northern St where he led the Wolves to the championship game. Sather plays a little slower on offense than former long time coach Brian Jones though like his predecessor he is still trying to run opponents of the 3pt line. At this point the Hawks aren't a particularly good team, racking up 3 of their 5 wins thus far vs non-Div 1 opponents. Nebraska coming in as only a 10 point favorite shows that the Huskers haven't quite yet proven to be consistently good. Offensively, the Huskers should be able to shred the Hawks in transition and in the paint though Rebraca is an above average shot blocker. On defense Nebraska matches up well though you have to wonder how much Cam Mack will guard Stewart given his laissez-faire style defense. It's possible that North Dakota will slow roll their way to a close game or even a win. It's also possible that the Huskers will aid them by going through the motions. The return of Jervay Green should add enough spice to keep Nebraska locked in. Look for them to win easily. Prediction: Nebraska 87 - North Dakota 70 View full article

DONU put together a comprehensive list. I do not recall the Kris Douse era at Nebraska https://huskers.com/news/2019/12/19/mens-basketball-huskers-in-the-pros-dec-19.aspx
