here are some debates you can start thinking about for next year.
sg: anton or tai?
who takes over for shields? morrow, roby, horne, mcveigh?
who starts at center? jacobson, hammond, or potential unnamed big man recruit?
i'm ok with glynn coming off the bench because we don't have a lot of scorers on our bench.
What i do think needs to change are his minutes. he should playing the same amount of minutes as shields and white.
There's nothing wrong with coming off the bench. several nba players have made the all star game as 6th men.
Shields is getting most of the minutes at the 4, which is Ed's true position.
Ed has struggled defensively when we have put him at the 5.
he'll have a much better oppurtunity to play at the 4 next year.
this should have been the starting lineup from the beginning IMO. benny is still too big of an offensive liability, and his defense has been pretty average this year.
i've always like benny as a guy who brings a ton of energy off the bench but never saw him as a starter.
if we don't beat rhode island, i'd like to see benny come off the bench for the rest of the year. he kills our offense and hasn't been all that great on defense. 0.8 steals per game is bad for a defensive point guard playing 26 min.
Creighton isn't getting better recruits than us, but they are disciplined and appear to be better coached.
My thought was related to the Jays having at least three post players outplaying our players.
we've been very close to landing some talented bigs, but yea it is becoming a huge problem.
i'm not ready to give up on miles, but he needs to get a couple bigs in a hurry.
That "terrible" announcer is Pete Gillen. 20yr head coaching career with multiple NCAA Tourny appearances.
i didn't say he was a bad coach. i said he's a terrible announcer.
this is turning into quite the spectacle
-Huff listed as doubtful on monday. warmed up with no visible injury.
-jacobson starting out of nowhere.
-the 'Boom' Ref is reffing this game.
i'm half expecting grant gibbs to come out of nowhere and knock out miles with a steel chair.
he's putting up 16.3 and 5 in only 26 min per game and shooting at a very high percentage.
if he kept this up in big 10 play, he would definitely get looks at the pro level.
it probably makes sense for him to come back next year though, because he'll be our main scoring option without shields.
