  1. overall talent is probably better this year, but i am not sure if anyone on this year's team is better than shields/white. my main hope is that we can keep roby, horne, jacobson, jordy, morrow, watson, and mcveigh together for the next 3 years. we keep that core of 7 guys together for 3 years, and we'll win plenty of games.
  2. i also don't blame izzo for wanting white. just because he doesn't like the transfer rules doesn't mean he can't take advantage of them. if denzel valentine wanted to come here from mich st. i doubt miles would turn him away.
  3. I don't know much about UNO's current team, but i'm sure UNO isn't recruiting him for the same reasons UNL and CU are not recruiting him.
  4. i heard that White didn't want the best defender on every team guarding him and that Miles basically told white we won't need you to force up 20 shots a game. White wants to play on a team like mich st/syracuse where he can just stand in the corner and shoot open 3s.
  5. are we getting an official visit? we still have an open scholarship.
  6. regardless of how good evan will be, we needed another guard. He probably won't play much unless tai, anton, or glynn get injured.
  7. he looks like a slightly less athletic version of tai, but might be taller than tai if he is truly 6'5 1/2.
  8. this video lists him at 6'5 1/2. pretty big for a point guard.
  9. dang. that's bad at any level. his numbers at samford were pretty good for a freshman though.
  10. he'll get a pass this year, but 17-18 will probably be the most crucial season for miles. i'd also say that it'll be difficult to fire him if he keeps bringing in top 100 recruits.
  11. based on what i heard, the team he is going to has been mentioned in this thread.
  12. But at what point do we stop making the developing players/long term argument? I feel like we've been playing for "next year" far too many times over the years. yea. it's not a good idea to plan long term in college basketball when players can leave at any time with no penalty other than having to sit out 1 year. and in white's case, there's no penalty.
  13. I actually think white would have gotten a ton of shots. he would have been the best shooter by far on our team at 41% from 3. i'm not sure there's anyone else on the roster that can shoot. webster 35%, watson 26%, mcveigh 34%, jacobson 18%, morrow 0%. Gill at UL 35% i don't think roby and horne are particularly known for shooting either.
  14. the new depth chart: pg watson/tai sg gill/tai sf mcveigh/roby pf morrow/horne/fuller C jacobson/jordy if tai doesn't leave, we should be fine.
  15. have they even made it to the 2nd round of the tourney in the last 5 years?
  16. ok, but he's from virginia and they have been a top seed in the tournament the last 3 years. that was my thought process.
  17. Virginia probably makes sense i guess.
  18. so what coach do you think called andrew and said 'come play 30 minutes a game for us and win a championship!' i have to assume he already knows what school he is going to.
  19. i really hope he doesn't go to another B1G team.
  20. worst part about this is he nearly waited until july to make this decision. now we have 2 open scholarships, and possibly 3 if tai really does leave.
  21. yea, but he would have absorbed some of shields points/minutes, and his numbers would have been better by default.
  22. let it go dude. our roster just took a massive hit. nobody cares whether you are right or wrong. it's not bringing white back.
  23. there has to be more to this story right? i mean he averaged 16 and 6 here and basically had the green light to shoot whenever he wanted. what exactly is he looking for? he can go to another kansas type powerhouse school, but then he risks getting no minutes again to a true freshman. my expectations for next season have greatly dropped, but at least our young guys will get to play a lot.
  24. i don't think lue has a bad relationship with the university, but i think we'd see him around more if the university did more to honor his accomplishments. i heard he is coming for a football game, so that is a good start.
