  1. wasn't ruling him out. just saying that our chances seem better with Elbert as of now.
  2. I think our chances of getting Robinson are a lot better than Bolden at this point. We've heard very little about Bolden other than 1 article on rivals. With Robinson we have an official visit set, his main recruiter in Kenya, and a huge need for another big man.
  3. PG will be a main priority for 2015 with Biggs gone and maybe Parker gone.
  4. just a link to his twitter page. https://twitter.com/ElbertRobinson8
  5. considering Hammond was our first top 150 player ever, I would say that is a step up in recruiting. Wacker has about 20 D1 offers compared to Ubel's 5.
  6. I take that to mean we are going to go all in on Robinson next weekend and if we don't think there is a great chance he is going to commit, Miles is going to tell wacker on Monday that we want him here.
  7. Wonder how Hammond would view things if we signed Robinson. -Sweet! someone to draw double teams, and i can get open shots from the elbow. or -No! this guy is going to take up all the space in the lane.
  8. Bolden or Robinson. which one would you rather have? Robinson- position of need with rare size Bolden- can pretty much do it all at 6'9. I'd probably go with Bolden. Mostly because I think he fits Miles system.
  9. can anyone think of a high school prospect that was 7'1 330 that turned out to be an all conference player?
  10. Doc was a pretty bad recruiter, and he couldn't coach an offense. pretty bad combo. I believe it was someone on here who wrote that Mike Gesell's parents said Doc told them that Nebraska wasn't dedicated to the basketball program (or something along those lines), and that was part of the reason he didn't come here.
  11. just for comparison, Hibbert was 7'1 250 in high school. Elbert will have to put in a lot of work to be a 30 min a night player.
  12. just read that Robinson also has a visit scheduled with Louisville... can you imagine beating out Louisville for Robinson after we lost Agau to them?
  13. Wow. This came out of nowhere. It's really difficult to tell who our main targets are.
  14. It's possible that a school like Creighton is guaranteeing him a starting job from day 1, where i'm not sure we could do that. I don't think there is a guarantee that gilmore starts over petteway, shields, fuller.
  15. Gilmore may be a higher rated recruit, but his offers are not much better than Smiths Gilmore- UNLV, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Nebraska, Creighton, Baylor, OK St, TCU. Smith- Marquette, TCU, Texas Tech, Washington St, Nebraska, Creighton, UTEP, St. Bonaventure, san jose st, wright st. When you consider that Smith is a late bloomer, his offers are pretty impressive.
  16. FWIW, smith said he is now 6'8 on his twitter page. He sounds like a late bloomer, and Miles seems to like those kind of recruits.
  17. SMU is in his hometown, so it's not that big of a stretch.
  18. You also called Webster would never make it to Lincoln. I said I felt like he wasn't going to make it because he had not gotten the SAT score he needed. He passed it on his last attempt. We were very lucky for once. I was also the one who broke the news that the clearinghouse was making their decision about tai in 48 hours. 48 hours later, we found out he was eligible. I'm using all the resources I can to give out info.
  19. I remember reading that Hammond and Smith were AAU teammates. Is it possible that Hammond and Smith were a package deal, and that is why we stopped pursuing Gilmore?
  20. I called it 3 days ago that Gilmore was no longer interested in us, or we were no longer interested in him. -It seemed pretty clear that was the case when he had a visit scheduled with Creighton for 3 weeks, but none scheduled with us. -It seemed even more likely after we scheduled the visit with Smith and Wacker. I would have to admit that Gilmore seems ahead of Smith in skill at this point, but Smith might be slightly stronger and more athletic. I think their potential might be about the same. I think there is a good chance that Smith and Wacker will commit to us if we want them.
  21. Sounds like he is going to be tough to pull out of Oklahoma. He has visited Oklahoma, Ok st, and tulsa. If Hammond has an Oklahoma relationship with him, that would probably be our best chance to get him to visit here.
  22. I dont know norm. We were one of hammonds first officials(I think the very first?), and he committed on the spot and isn't taking any more visits. Based on what we can see, things might be looking better for creighton than us. -He just visited NU and CU a couple months ago, and Creighton is the first place he wanted to go back to. -We have no official set up with him that we know of. -We have Smith coming in 9 days who is the same size and position as gilmore.
  23. this article is just stating the facts, but i find it a good thing that people aren't taking us seriously. We will surprise a lot of people over the next few years.
