  1. who he now follows along with his newest follow, Braxton Miller. He's also following shaq, who he just met. I wouldn't look too much into it yet.
  2. I'm just happy he's not waiting until April to make this decision. It gives us a chance to sway Wacker back to us, or go after another one of our second options. I respect Elbert for taking as many visits as possible until he knew what he wanted. OSU seems likely who he picked. I hope Elbert is prepared to lose half his twitter followers if he does choose OSU.
  3. his comment about Sergej wasn't very promising. "We need him to speed up his development."
  4. Chris Paul Blake Griffin hybrid?
  5. Uh oh. Here we go... @Takeflight35: @ElbertRobinson8 follow me back so i can message u Let me just add this perspective on ER and the visits he's had. Yeah, he was probably star-struck at least a little bit seeing Shaq in Baton Rouge and Lebron in Columbus, Ohio. But, do you really think Lebron cares where Elbert goes to college? You really think Lebron cares if Elbert goes to Ohio State? You think Lebron cares enough to message Elbert about his college decision and where he might want to go? You think Shaq cares? You think Shaq is messaging Elbert about his college choice and encouraging him to go to LSU? I doubt it. But Walter Pitchford cares where Elbert goes to college. And they follow each other on twitter so that Walter can message Elbert. I think Walter is going to want Elbert badly after a year of defending B1G centers.
  6. The concern is defensively and you just made the case also the depth of big men is an area of weakness.
  7. I think the important thing is he didn't break his hip on that fall to curse the new arena. I'm not saying his best position is the 4, but we may need him there. He's our biggest small forward. I said this once, but I don't think Smith and Pitchford can be on the court together often because that leaves us with no real post players on the bench. I doubt Sergej plays much at all.
  8. That's what I'm thinking. I saw they showed Bron Bron at the OSU/UW game saturday night, but I didn't see any 7 foot high school centers anywhere near him... Exactly. Yea, shaq and lebron may show up to these games, but I doubt they want to spend all their time with a 17 year old. Heck, Lebron didn't even go to OSU. How is he suppose to sell them on the program when he never played there?
  9. That doesn't sound good for us. . . His dream is likely to play in the nba. He's going to take all 5 of his visits and why wouldn't he? I know i would. -I haven't seen him asking other school's fans for twitter followers like he did with us. Why would you want a bunch of Nebraska people following you if it wasn't your top choice? After watching the scrimmage, I think it's safe to say we need an inside presence more than any other team on his list.
  10. Tread lightly.
  11. I don't know if we can afford to start both Pitchford and Smith. Our bench would be pretty small if we did that, and I'm not sure Smith will play starters minutes. Tai, Ray, Shields, PItchford are guaranteed to start the first game against FGCU Rivers, Fuller, Petteway, Smith will fill the last spot.
  12. Fuller averaged 11 rebounds a game in high school. I would have liked to see him get more shots tonight.
  13. I felt like Webster was purposefully passive to start the game...like he was letting the other guys have shots. He's going to start day 1 automatically because I think Biggs is out for 3 games. I would be surprised if biggs takes the spot from him.
  14. biggest surprise: Hawkins biggest letdown: petteway just my opinion. I know it was just a scrimmage.
  15. scrimmage notes (watched on huskers.com) might vary from what people saw in person. Shields- got hurt Rivers- didn't play? Gallegos- still can shoot. will start. Pitchford- played great. about what we all expected/hoped Webster- Looked decent. not sure how hard he was trying at the beginning. should start at pg. Biggs- played well. will be a solid backup. parker- not sure he's improved enough to play much this year. Sergej- I think he can play some minutes if we need him. He didn't look too impressive though. Smith- Should be able to be a hustle guy that can bang down low. something we need. Fuller- looked very good. about what i expected. He should get a lot of minutes. Hawkins- greatly exceeded my expectations. Should see a lot of playing time after gallegos leaves. petteway- Looked good. I think he is better at attacking the basket than shooting though. overall, I liked what I saw except for the Shields injury. We are still a little small, but we should be able to compete with any team. The future does look bright.
  16. Shavon is hurt... and i think Miles is done with the MC'ing on that note.
  17. so far it's just been the tim miles comedy hour. He's had at least 12 red bulls.
  18. meeting lebron and shaq doesn't make you a better basketball player, so I don't think it really matters. He should go to Nebraska and make history by getting our first NCAA win.
  19. maybe he's really 6'9 and we are just trying to surprise people.
  20. I have a feeling he'll be 6'7 next year. He is very young for his grade.
  21. Was listed at 6'6 last year. now 6'7 on the roster http://www.huskers.com/SportSelect.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=100&SPID=24&SPSID=23 I think he's now big and strong enough to play power forward for us. He appears to be the only player that grew in height on our roster.
  22. This team will be better, but there is less experience and the schedule is tougher. I think we'll hit our peak in the 2015-2016 season.
