usually guys that even slightly resemble kevin durant are lottery picks now a days though. if he's half decent as a freshman, he'll be a first round pick. he's 6'9 with a 7'3 wingspan and can shoot 3s. i think someone would draft him from potential alone.

I agree that you should let plan B guys visit, but i think it would be more beneficial if you could get the plan A guys to visit first. I doubt Smith and Wacker would sit around and wait as our plan b guys, when they have offers from Marquette, Boston college, Colorado, Creighton, Texas Tech (both), Washington st, TCU (both), Witchita St, etc. Are every one of the offers commitable offers? You really dont know where they sit with any school until they actually commit. Yes you'd love to get the Plan A guys in first but what if their schedule cant get them in until right before signing day and they decide on another school. If plan B guy hasnt committed yet and already visited at that point you can go right to him and try to secure him. You have to play the recruiting game. only the coaches know how much interest bolden and gilmore really have in us. Us, the fans know for sure that Smith and Wacker have a high interest in us to take an official here. We will have to see how things play out.

I wouldn't be surprised if miles is hoping to get commitments from both Smith and Wacker next weekend. I find it strange that we scheduled a visit with Smith who plays the exact position as Gilmore, but we have no visit scheduled with Gilmore (who is visiting creighton in 2 days). Miles said he wants 2 big men, and Wacker is our last post guy on the radar. Bolden would be great, but he is most likely a 1 and done guy and a long shot to get, and for whatever reason it could be possible that miles likes something better about Smith than Gilmore. Smith might be a bit more athletic and might have as much potential as gilmore. Scholarship offers aren't that much different between smith and gilmore.

Anyone have any guesses why we haven't scheduled a visit yet? He visits Creighton aug 23rd.

at least we'll have a pretty good idea of what were doing after smith and wacker's visit in 11 days.

http://www.hudl.com/athlete/2162335/highlights/43975563 well, he can dunk.
-
yes. Would you rather have both zach and david as a package deal, or take our chances of getting either gilmore or bolden?
-
Zach smith holds offers from both Nebraska and Creighton.... Here we go again! Gilmore war part 2.
-
Wacker might be our top priority. Wacker isn't as highly rated as Gilmore, but his offers are just as good. Miles said he wants 2 big men, so it is very possible that Gilmore isn't a top priority since he is more of a small forward.

How can you know that for sure after seeing 2 video clips?

Australian forward Jonah Bolden 2014

We just need Bolden on campus to have a shot. -
Deng Deng 2014 Juco F *committed to Baylor 5.4.14*

We've got some pretty good options for that last 'ship. How does the over sign work? 2 guys sign in the fall, and after the season we can sign one more player that is unsigned? Are we allowed to have 3 verbal commits? -
Hahahaha. Creighton didn't steal him from Miles. Nebraska backed off of the unranked PF...Probably so they could keep the scholarship open for Hammond, who is ranked by ESPN as a 4-Star and the #22 Center in the country. And in the Rivals150. I think all Husker fans are probably ok with that trade off...Go back to your Creighton site. Seriously? How did what I say make me a Creighton fan. We never backed off of Hanson. He visited here and decided to stay committed to Creighton. We wanted him here, but could not convince him. Hanson is more highly ranked than Leslee smith. Those are the facts.Sorry. I'm on my iPhone and I've seen alot of posts from Creighton Fan, and I thought your post was one of them. I also disagree with you about Hanson. From what I have been told, Nebraska backed off of him, because he isn't a Big Ten caliber player. That's fine. According to what I've been told, Nebraska was high on him at one point, but then backed off because he isn't a Big Ten caliber player. Anyone has the right to believe whatever they want to. Even if its wrong. I mean really, you want everyone to believe that Miles decided not to use the scholarship at all, despite having a shortage of big guys? Even more comical - Hanson isn't a Big 10 player, but Vucetic is? The truth is that Miles even had an in with the Hanson family and thought he would be a Nebraska commit. When Hanson chose Creighton, Miles was pretty shocked as was anyone involved in covering Nebraska recruiting (hence Washut's tweet). Hanson is a great kid with great parents (they traveled to Las Vegas for Creighton's games against Wisconsin and Arizona St last year and hung out with Creighton fans all weekend). I couldn't have been happier with the commit. It was a solid get for you guys, but the point is that Nebraska is still having much greater success in recruiting than creighton is right now. 3 top 150 guys in a year, and Gilmore would be our 4th. Hanson would have been our 3rd or 4th best recruit for 2013, and he was your #1 recruit I'd much rather have gilmore and hammond than Hanson

It's up to Harriman. We were somehow Tai's first choice before he even visited campus, so it's possible Harriman could pull off the same thing with Bolden. -

Creighton Fan, Recruiting is all that matters, and we have landed 3 top 150 guys in the last year, and Gilmore would be our 4th. That is where our positive momentum comes from. Our future is much brighter than Creighton's given our recent recruiting success, better facilities, and better conference.

agreed. all the info on here comes from twitter.

when doc left, and we actually started recruiting
-
well... when we are going after the same recruits, I think we do have to worry about each other. And it is reasonable to be making comparisons. It is a big deal that Mcdermot and gibbs will be gone next year. In the MVC, you can still have a chance to win the conference in a down year, but that will not fly in a real conference. After this year, i think it will be a while before Creighton is a tournament team again.
-
Anyone outside of Nebraska doesn't even know what conference Creighton is in our what other teams are in that conference. I doubt Gilmore wants to take on the pressure of being the next McDermott. Creighton's chance at an NCAA tourney run is going to end after this year, and Nebraska's run will just be starting. There's a much better chance of getting recognized for your play in the BIG 10 than the Fake Big East Creighton Fan, if you want people to agree with you, you are in the wrong place.

Do we break .500 in nonconference?
FredsSlacks replied to PimpMario's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Way to go out on a limb there. Jeez! If you ask me, I think we should be on the cusp of the tourney bubble THIS year, and a pretty solid lock for the dance NEXT year. Our roster of, well let's be honest here, actual hoops talent has basically doubled since last year, and we were basically one or two wins shy of the NIT. Now that we'll have a bench that has players on it, I don't see why we can't get those extra wins that will stretch us to the 60 or 70 RPI range. The only Miles recruit we've seen play is Sergej, and so far it has been a disaster. I'm not saying all of Miles recruits are going to be like Sergej, but I think we should wait and see how these new guys do in a game before we say we are a tourney bubble team this year. On paper we have some talented guys, but there has to be team chemistry and experience too. That is why i'm not expecting a tourney bid until 2 or 3 years, but it could happen sooner if these guys play well together. I'm also not ruling out Sergej as being a contributor, but none of us will really know until the games start how good each player is going to be and how much they've improved. -
I wouldn't get too cocky considering Creighton stole Zach Hanson from Miles last year. I do think that after this year, Nebraska will be trending upwards, and Creighton is going to hit a wall after losing Mcdermot and gibbs. We would be a pretty scary team with Gilmore and Bolden. It's hard to imagine NU having this much talent after what we've gone through the last 10-15 years.

This year could be rough just because of the lack of experience. I see us making a big leap next year and will pretty much guarantee that we make the tournament when shields is a senior.
