just wanted to point out that Sergej wasn't somebody that we took a huge gamble on. He had offers from minnesota, vanderbilt, georgia tech, providence, etc. Plenty of high level D1 schools thought he had potential.
I think he moves well enough for being 7'1. I would say it's more coordination that he struggles with. He is always kind of wobbling and doesn't have great footwork.
I would love to see him get to play the last 2-3 minutes of the first half just to see how he looks when the game isn't a blowout.
He could benefit greatly from gaining 30-40 pounds.
He is never going to be a guy that is on the court for a long time, so his best chance to be effective is to put on lots and lots of muscle.
I believe all his points came on the fast break though. I'm not sure he is a guy who thrives in the half court, but he had a lot more confidence getting to the hoop than last year.
I would almost have to think Fuller is redshirting. Why else would he have not played tonight?
There's no way Fuller would have played worse than peltz tonight.
I don't think lack of basketball talent and exposure are a good reason to not move to Nebraska.
Mike Gesell started for Iowa as a Freshman, and only averaged 25 points in class B Nebraska basketball. Virtually every D1 school offered Akoy. I think Edward can become a better player without living in chicago.
Why would they risk all their lives in Chicago if they all want to be in Nebraska?
