Hopefully Doc wouldn't have been the coach if Gessell signed. Good thing Gessell didn't sign if that is the case. He is just any other player. Not sure how many actually follow recruiting that closely.

I somewhat agree with Tex and Handy in that Ray SHOULD BE a role player (i.e. not a top option) on a good team. He cannot create his own shot, does not have the ability to drive, and is not a good enough shooter to run an offense around (a la a JJ Reddick). That being said, I think we will be a better team next year, but not a good team. Therefore, Ray will still be a top option. Hopefully some of our freshman and transfers play at a level that will allow us to create more open set shots for him within the offense so he doesn't have to "jack up" ugly threes. If defense can't focus primarily on Ray, it should greatly improve his percentages, and us as a team. I consider Gallegos the best on the team at creating their own shot. He is easily the most active guy in the offense. The Minnesota game proved what he can do in any game. He wasn't just coming off screens, but taking a couple dribbles for a pull ups. Shields is decent at getting to the basket but Gallegos is still the main focus of every team Nebraska plays. I'll take it the other way. If Gallegos isn't our leading scorer we will be in trouble. His play and work ethic must carry us.

There certainly has been worse weather for a game. This is what overhype gets. At least the Saturday game starts at 1:00 instead of another night game.

Next year we may be on the bubble of the NIT. Probably will play the CBI for the first time. No experience down low will hurt. Year 3 is my pick, but they may still only be a solid NIT team. Probably need one more difference maker.

State outline please. I believe Parker will be getting decent minutes next year. He plays good defense, at least the times I've focused on him. His offense leaves a lot to be desired. He still needs to find his shot and probably still figure out where everyone is in the offense.

At least Miles was as frustrated with Ubel as I was. The guy just doesn't get it done in crunch time. Missing layups, whiffing on defense.

The officiating was no worse or better than any Big 10 game this season. They just don't know how to call a fast paced game. Were they really trying to protect Indiana by putting Zeller in foul trouble? Nebraska just doesn't play very smart. They earned almost every foul by getting beat on defense. Then on offense Nebraska settled for a lot of jump shots like they have all year. Nebraska had low post players...Miles decided not to use them. That is on coaching not the refs. Why wouldn't Creen allow walk-ons and other players that hardly see the court play ball? I'm sure Nebraska's guys wanted another offensive possession. Beating Michigan State would be the biggest upset in years. 2004-05 -- #4 Oklahoma State
