I don't know. We had 2 games we should have won....both UM and PU played bad and gave us chances but we can finish it off. It's about to get bad imo. -

People have complained about Miles not using TO's. Here was just one case were one was not needed. I said somewhere that after games like this all coaches second guess themselves. That's one way to get better the next time the situation comes up.Whether Biggs had turned the corner or not you could see MU's defense was not set & out of balance. With that situation and the ball in the hands of an offensive creator - play on. And maybe I'm nit-picking, but with a three man crew you don't have to go find an official. There is always one standing right in front of you. Good post -
That's what it is looking like. No way Webster is a top 50 player at this point and Biggs is better and takes it to the hole.

No doubt that it's true, but I don't think I like Miles saying it out loud. He's essentially saying he's coaching well enough but the guys he already has recruited simply aren't good enough to compete with the B1G boys. Let's chalk that comment up to frustration. Fans might like a coach promising to recruit better, but players hear, "The guys I have aren't good enough to win. I'm getting new guys." Some players might take it as a challenge, others would take it as being thrown under the bus by the coach. I don't think Miles would want to take the chance on losing his team two games into the BIG season, so I don't think that comment was really well thought out. Good post. If the players here that and they are trying hard they will think the coach doesn't have their backs. Doesn't look like we are any closer than we were 2 years ago.

And two girls won't have dates to winter formal coming up. They just have to go together

Not a good OOC at home. Overall it is good but not as great as coach makes out. Conference games yes.

Huskers draw ACC Champ Hurricanes in BiG/ACC Challenge

would have loved to play Miami last year, but they lose their whole team. Larkin went pro and the others were seniors. Let's punk them in basketball then football. they set this up because we took Miami's AD. Easy to see what they did. -
If Frazier played this year imo he was a 2-3 win difference and they probably finish ahead of last year.

Now that Biggs is on probation, what does Miles do?

As I called it.

This is my thinking too, I think we will have overall more talent but not sure about better players than our seniors in Talley and Ubel provided. Those two will be big players to replace and I don't see it with the players sitting out or coming in. Andre was not a player but he did take up space and make teams not able to penetrate the lane easily. Will be interesting to see how the new guys improve the team if the do.

Louisville has no problem getting rid of players and trading them in for new ones. He's not their top recruit or anything. Really? -

Possible Big 10 Conference Alignment
bison husker replied to hhcmatt's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Maybe East will be called Big Ten with the big time teams that run the conference and the West the little Ten. Most players will probably want to play in the east divison like they did in the Big 12 South.....might not be good for a conference, but most should have seen this. -
Kentucky lands their 6th 5* of the 2013 class...

I coached against Randle in AAU, their team Texas Titans has a billionaire booster traveling all over the country and free for the top kids to play for them and he pays college coaches to coach them Jeff Webster from OU is one of the assistants....any way when he was in 6th grade he was already 6' and stole the ball went around his back to his left hand and layed it up hitting the back board with his hand almost dunked then and I just turned to coach and said we have nobody that can do that. -

Are you serious? The NCAA is overwhelmed. They can't begin to police this stuff. SEC cheating especially is rampant. Alabama scholarship football players are getting a minimum of $10k-$30k per year. Much of it is funneled through churches. It's totally out of control. You're telling me that six NBA-type kids in one year, all 5-star recruits, want to play at Kentucky, knowing how hard it will be to get playing time, in addition to the guys who are already there? That's really hard for me to believe. These guys are each getting $100k plus. You are so full of it.....no way this would stay quiet.....ppl believe the only way you win is pay players......So I ASSume when we start winning we have to be paying players too as we have sucked for so long no way we can win without paying players too. -

Umm, they won the national title last year... Hey, I'm not saying it's not a viable model for building a team if you can do it. I feel it's unquestionably boom or bust though, as you saw how far Kentucky fell once their mercenaries from last year left. It's the kind of model where you could win a national title one year if everything comes together, and then be a train wreck the next year, and managing all of those egos and demands for playing time is not easy. The annual turnover makes it hard to build a cohesive unit, but in Calipari's case, the talent level is so great at times that it overcomes any other deficiencies. Obviously, Nebraska will never be that type of team, not by choice, but simply because we're not capable of landing that type of player outside of rare circumstances. I'm jealous of Kentucky basketball for sure, but I don't like the one-and-done rent-a-mercenary culture, and no team exemplifies that culture more than Kentucky. It is not Kentucky's fault they get one and done players. That is the NCAA as they need to make it like football and baseball once you step on campus you have to be there 3 years or the NBA needs to let them go pro out of HS. -
