  1. Interesting note, Tai's older brother Corey plays for Wellington. Taking a brief look at the Wellington roster, these guys are men, not teenagers. Couple of guys from the U.S. as well. So Tai is more than likely playing against good competition and putting up good numbers, at least in game one anyway.
  2. Another player leaving Purdue.
  3. And you know this how? Please elaborate.
  4. Have you watched any video of Smith?
  5. David Pellom of GW looks like an interesting prospect.
  6. The guy doing play by play for the Hutch game mentioned that much of Seward County's success late in the season was due to Smith elevating his game (paraphrasing here), which is backed up by those stats.
  7. Smith showed some ability in the first half of the Hutch game. Fairly skilled with the ball and a decent athlete. Agree that he didn't really use his size to his advantage and his motor was on and off. I'm sure both of these items will be addressed by the staff. Overall, I wasn't disappointed with what I saw and he fills a need. Now lets land Tummala to finish off this class.
  8. Doesn't Harriman have AAU connections? Didn't he arrange for the team from Indiana to visit?
  9. These are season highlights for the team, but Sai has his share.
  10. OK, I'll do my part.
  11. Looks like Texas Tech is interested in Tubby.
  12. Sorry Silverbacked, but you're mistaken: Huskers Fall to Kent St.
  13. My question was purely out of curiosity since I didn't attend the game. Wasn't trying to justify a close loss to a 'perceived' lesser opponent. What irks me at times is when people expect us to win these games handily just because we are Nebraska, we are in the Big 12 or Big 10, blah blah blah.... Were we really that much better than FGCU last season? We were more experienced, but maybe not much else. Also, these kids on the opposing teams expect to win and are no longer afraid of the big boys. Yes, FGCU is a different team than they were last season and they are on a helluva run, but they have also proven they are a formidable opponent for anyone left in front of them. Do I expect them to beat Florida? No, they very well could get blown out, but it has been fun watching the little guy have his day in the son once again.
  14. Considering their success in the tourney, just curious if those who attended the game against FGCU last season recall Sherwood Brown, Comer, Fieler, Thompson, Murray and Varidel and what your impressions of FGCU where then and now. NU 51 FGCU 50
  15. A couple more videos of Sai. Can't get the second link to work. Feel free to paste or fix.
  16. Regarding taking longer to develop, McGary will be 21 in three months. Most players would be in their junior year where he is a 'freshman'. So to me, his level of play isn't that surprising considering his age. Having said this, I really like his game and wish we had someone like him in the middle.
  17. The incoming freshman will more than likely experience growing pains next season as most do, but hopefully the transition will be less arduous for them as it appeared to be for Parker. I'm hoping all three are able to contribute closer to the level that Shields did this year. I like Benny, but have a hard time finding minutes for him if the new guys are as good as we hope they are.
  18. Talley. He was one of a few players in the conference that averaged at least 13 points, 5 boards and 2.5 assists per game. I think he was underrated as a scorer (very good at finishing with his off hand, nice mid-range game and could get hot from 3) as well as a defender. Considering what he was asked to do this season, he gets my vote.
  19. I was impressed with Bol too. Decent offensive game near the basket and pretty athletic. Good defender as well.
  20. He had 24 to lead his team today. Nice looking player.
  21. I needed a good laugh 49r and you provided it. Thanks. On a serious note, I don't know if I have encountered anyone who isn't optimistic about the future of Nebraska basketball since we've gotten to know Miles and company. Can't wait to see the squad next year.
  22. Good interview with Eric on huskers.com. Seems pretty pumped about the future of husker hoops.
