But I've read all 1,500 of yours and learned lots. So, who got the better deal, huh? You've learned words I put together in sentences - whether they were right or made any sense is highly debatable

I feel like I've read all 100,000 of those... I've learned nothin

Coaches really don't like it when guys make calls out of their area.... BUT, coaches really like it when refs make calls out of their own area and it helps them.

Sipple nailing it! Great article
basketballjones replied to PimpMario's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
A Sipple article I agreed with and wasn't a puff piece.... I musta drank too much last night. He's right, the conversation is really going to chance next year. If the record is ugly by this time next year, so will the conversation. Patience is running thin. -
Fwiw, and I'm not saying UNO plays great defense, but using points allowed as a measure of a defense is not the best way to go about it. Especially when they score so many points and play such a frantic pace. They almost lull you to sleep allowing you to score, because when they turn on the jets, they turn on the jets and you don't have enough gas to play with them. Not saying we'd lose - I think we'd win - but they're the type of team who would give us absolute fits. Shavon and White would have massive games against them.

Ed Chang is a 5-Star type player
basketballjones replied to basketballjones's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
That's a pretty bold statement saying he's a "once in a generation in-state talent". There have been players way better than Ed Chang in state in the past generation. I'm not saying Ed isn't a good player but that might be setting the bar a little high with praise like that. You're right... He's similar to all the other 6'7"+, super long, athletic, with absolutely beautiful strokes from outside that we've had in this state. I kid! I kid! I know... Maybe went a bit superlative. But I watched a bunch of his highlights then finally got to see him play live. He's the real deal. Dreams of tournament wins were dancing through my head. So shoot me, ha! -
Ed Chang is a 5-Star type player
basketballjones replied to basketballjones's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Not sure where in my post I said, "Ed Chang is a 5-star and better than Arop." Wasn't comparing the two. I just really want Ed Chang as a husker. And btw, Arop and Chang are different years and different positions. Unfair to say "Arop is better" as you're comparing different players unfairly. -
If we develop Arop and get Chang, Miles will be here a long time.
-
If we do not get him I will be EXTEMELY disappointed. Once in a generation in-state talent. Reminds me of KD

Out of curiosity - does a bench warning notify both teams that they need to watch out?Good question, I think that Tim might have said a bit more than Mark Maybe but you can't warn one and not the other. Poor officiating. That's not true at all... If Maryland didn't do anything egregious but we're getting close = warning. If Miles cussed him up and down = T -

Our spacing has always been poor under miles unfortunately. -
Correct, Dean. However my counter to this would be - why even play a zone if you're going to get that complicated out of it? Just play a switching man with a lot of gap responsibilities. If you want to trap, you're still going to have to rotate around it and closeout to the ball. I would think with our size issues defending the post and rebounding, that we'd really struggle to do those things out of a zone... But who knows!

I don't see how Morrow could get out of a big league high school program these days without seeing the inside of the weight room. I've seriously questioned that also.

Well that man is clearly a genius....

I want you to make an Xs and Os post, but I don't know where to have you start.Dimes? I've made a couple of drawings on snaps, not necessarily videos. Most of the videos posted on here have been clipped by someone else, not clipped by a member so that's a different story. Can you give me an example post so I have a better idea of what you're looking to do? I wanted to do a breakdown of our offense, how others do the same thing but differently, and some thoughts on it. I'm just not a techie unfortunately.!
