  1. Neither Nebraska...or Creighton should be afraid to play UNO. Of course...we have scheduled them multiple times recently and I bet we do so in the future.
  2. Not really wondering if he will transfer next year...more of, is there really any drawbacks to this signing considering how late in the game it is? He may be someone who can come in and help right away...if not, maybe he looks elsewhere for playing time?
  3. Worst case, if it doesn't work out...he's asked to transfer after the season ends. I don't think you'd see Nebraska ask a 4th year guy who was a "please join our team" signee to transfer under any on the court circumstance. If my Math is correct we now have 1 scholarship open for 2017. I'm playing the what if game here...but if Evan Taylor is not able to provide valuable minutes next year I think he will be a likely transfer candidate. And I'd imagine we will be signing more than two recruits in this next class.
  4. It's for sure better than leaving the scholarship vacant IMO. He may turn out to be a kid that can help us..especially if he can give us 5-10 minutes of solid play each game. Worst case, if it doesn't work out...he's asked to transfer after the season ends. Lengthy guard....Mo recruiting him, my guess is the staff sees Taylor as someone who can come in and help out on the defensive end.
  5. 35% from the field...18% from deep. Not good. Solid assist/turnover ratio. Hopefully a stout defender that can take over Benny's role. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Will they be quality minutes though? No disrespect to Jordy at all...as he appears to have the makup of being a good one but true freshmen at the center position usually have a rough go at it. With that said, I guess it won't take much to improve upon what we got out of the 5 last year.
  7. NC St just doesn't make much sense to me assuming he is doing this to "showcase" his talents at a program that can go deep in the tournament. NC St was just as bad as we were last year and they lost their best player to the draft.
  8. He was very rarely...if ever a non-factor. He scored double digits in 17 of our 21 Big Ten games...and even when he was "off" the defense had to be aware of him so he stretched the defense out. Not to mention, his ability to rebound. Until proven otherwise we don't really have that guy on the current roster IMO.
  9. Doesn't hurt...I have him in the starting 5 already as we are going to need rebounding help with White gone. If his foot is healthy, I think we will see a more active Morrow on the offensive end.
  10. he'll get a pass this year, but 17-18 will probably be the most crucial season for miles.i'd also say that it'll be difficult to fire him if he keeps bringing in top 100 recruits. I don't believe he's in danger of losing his job but he won't get a pass for another dismal year. And I agree on next year being a crucial year for him. Hopefully that means no more key departures.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Would you feel any better about him if he stopped making jokes and tweeting stuff during halftimes and such? If we have don't make the postseason this year or next year? Unless we are bringing in great classes it will be tough to feel good about the projection of the program. This year it's probably going to be tough to stay above .500 but next year, assuming no key departures we should compete for a NCAA appearance IMO. BTW, he doesn't tweet at halftime.

  12. Assuming we don't sign anybody else and leave two scholarships floating around I will go with... 1. Watson 2. Gill 3. Roby 4. Morrow 5. Jacobson Tai will get plenty of minutes backing up Watson/Gill and seems to prefer that first man off the bench role. Lets just hope our guards can stay out of foul trouble the whole year.
  13. What are you basing your comments on about Gill can fill it up from 3 and he's probably being our biggest threat from 3? He was not a great 3 point shooter at Louisville so just wondering why you think he's a big threat now? I'm not even sure he would be in my top 3 players I consider our biggest threat to shoot 3 pointers. Just curious what you are basing this on? I'm guessing it stems from the flashes that fans saw in last years fall scrimmage and talk out of practice this past season? I think Gill is a better shooter than what he had shown at UL and he is going to get his change to prove that just like Petteway/White did. With that said, most of the talk has been about him being a very good downhill player getting and finishing at the rim. That may be more difficult now that AWIII bailed.
  14. Maybe. McVeigh was making just over two three pointers per 40 minutes last year. Nowhere did I say he won't improve...not sure he will shoot at a better clip but he will certainly be getting more shots. I think McVeigh is probably our best candidate to make teams pay for packing it in but we will need others to knock some down from deep. Hopefully Watson and Tai continue to improve on their numbers. As it stands..until proven otherwise I bet opposing coaches will be just fine with this group settling for threes while they clog the lanes. 16. I don't necessarily think you are replacing White as last years 4 with Jack as this years 4. I think Morrow/Jacobsen can match White's D and rebounding.i was thinking morrow and jacobsen matching shavon more than white. white will be missed, but honestly i think gains on rebounding and interior D will counterbalance losing shooting. and even then, i think gill vs benny needs to be pointed out every time that people think we're losing two big guns makes our team worse. What we get out of Gill remains to be seen but as of now it would appear we have zero personnel that is going to strike fear into the opposing team from deep. That once again is going to make this team very easy to defend. Another year of watching other teams pack it and watching us struggle to counter.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk So let me get this straight. last year we had shavon and white... .364 and .410 respectively from deep. watson wasnt good (freshman). mcveigh was about .340. tai was .350. ok, so given that... is it really that much of a stretch to think that gill, tai and mcveigh could hit at a .370 pace between them? could watson jump up to around .340? i'm still not seeing how losing benny does anything but help (.316 from 3 last year). how much different overall is that from last year when you take into account the fact that we'll actually have an interior this year? seriously... i'm not saying losing white doesn't hurt -- of course it does. but when you compare to last year.. it's a different equation just having jordy around. if our guards put in the work this offseason (and they have from what i've heard) then the biggest loss is who we want shooting in the last 2 minutes. some yes, but huge? it's one thing to worry about having everyone sag down and defend the interior when you don't have an interior -- and let's be honest, we haven't had an inside game at nebraska since marik and outside of him it's been 20 years. it's quite another when you've got the bodies to bang people around a bit and a few guys who can shoot average (not good, average). losing white hurts, but it's not like we're going to drop from scoring 72 down to doc sadler levels just because of him. edit: and i'll reiterate. rebounding makes up for a lot, and having an interior means more shots for those shooters. i'll take two shots at .370 over 1 shot at .410 every day of the week, and i can't count the number of one shot possessions we had last year. McVeigh is obviously going to get more minutes this year...but between him and Tai this year the both of them combined for making just over 1 three pointer per game...combined. So no,as it stands I don't think any team is going to be afraid to defend the three pointer. Perhaps Gill will be that guy...but it may be asking for a lot judging by his stats at UL. One hope is new blood in Lewis coming on board and hopefully changing things up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  18. I would say that would be a pretty good accomplishment with how our roster looks right now. We went 16-18 last year and aren't returning two 15+PPG players. The sophomore class is going to have to take a major leap and the freshman are going to have to be pretty damn good for us to make the nit next year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Roby hasn't played a minute of D-1 ball yet. I think we are doing him a major disservice if people are expecting him to come in and be all world. He is going to have his freshman struggles just like last years freshman went thru. Unfortunately this staff is going to have to ask a lot of him because we are very thin at the 2/3. The minutes will help him down the road...assuming he stays at Nebraska which based on the past 4 years is a question mark...but this team is going to go thru some ugly spells again next year. If the writing was on the wall one would think Miles was doing some 5th year transfer recruiting of his own but there is no evidence of that. If he wasn't doing so, he better be on the phones now. We need another body for minutes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Whoever he picks...it will probably be at 11:59 PM before he has to enroll. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. General consensus seems to be White didn't want to play for a losing team his last year of college ball. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. If Webster leaves any chance Miles has open tryouts? I may be able to give a minute or two. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. In now way is this good for Nebrasketball. Unless finishing at the bottom of the Big Ten is good. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk If AW3 is carrying a me first mentality, it definitely is good for the team. A team can be talented and still not perform well if it has internal issues and everyone isn't on the same page. See Nebrasketball 2014-15 We are not winning more games without White no matter how much you want that to be true. Next year is likely to be very ugly again unless we are able to pull a few rabbits out of a hat on the recruiting trail. No offense to Roby and Horne...but it's not fair to be huge expectations on them as freshman and we will be needing them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  25. Some life advice... don't be such a douche even when you're right. It speaks to larger issues. No, it speaks to a delusional college student athlete. This is where I call it quits in this thread. There is the possibility that no one is right in this. Bad way to handle it from White perspective obviously, but unless you know his reasoning you can't completely judge his motive. Nor does it really matter...he's gone and we are left scrambling. This shit is getting old...the "youth" excuse won't fly going forward. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
