I don’t think they ever get a handle on the money side of things, they just need to start making these contracts 2/3 year commitments from both the school and the player. If the player wants out he has to repay whatever his previous school still owes him and sit out a year. The school should have no way to get out of it. That would drastically bring this stuff back to earth. Bring back the 5 years to play 4 and get rid of all this 6th-8th year bullshit too.

The fact that we were losing the rebound battle 13-6 halfway through the first half and ended up winning it 24-31 is amazing to me with the size they had. Our success on the boards this year is very interesting to me as it seems like we have 6ish guys that grab 5ish boards most games rather than 1 dominant rebounder

Be nice to see Griffiths get 15ish minutes of run in this game, never know when we might need him in conference play either due to injury or foul trouble

Gonna need a good second half outta Wooster to get this thing done. There length is legit, and the refs seems to get to a certain amount of fouls called and just say ya we are good for the half. -
I was watching the game with a casual Husker fan who said he thought worster was terrible last night and I tried to explain to him that I’m not sure what I’d qualify him as good at but we seem to be pretty good in the minutes he’s on the court. I prefer him on the court with meah at all times and I think he needs to take more of those jump shots around the free throw line in the 2 man games.

I’ve Been pretty critical of meah this year but man his impact was felt tonight as it was vs Indiana and vs that Blue instate school down the road. Have to think even though the offense isn’t pretty when he’s the pivot point this is how hoiberg envisioned him helping us when they got his commitment -

If they call half the body fouls Hawai’i is getting away with we would be in the bonus… -

Gonna need to bring the hard hats for this one, it’s going to be a free for all in the paint the way the first half of Hawaii’s game looked last night -

Junk half offensively, nice to have 2-3 guys that can go get buckets from the block and mid post area though -

You’d like to think hoiberg, Jacobsen, frager, janowski, and bolis are back too. But with NIL Who knows might be hard to bring back that core even if we have the type of year we are hoping to have. -
I was in section 119 Friday night and Berke missed or just didn’t pass it to meah on multiple post up chances the second of which would of been a pretty easy dunk as he had his guy pinned to the opposite block. I chalked it up to we just don’t do a great job of passing to bigs when they have good positioning but meah was definitely pissed about it when he came off the floor. id like to see a few more meah post ups and a few less meah top of the key touches but thats just me
-
Seems like when meah and worster are on the floor they run mainly pick and roll stuff where as Friday night with worster in foul trouble we were back to meah being that pivot point up top which resulted in 5-7 empty trips with several of those being lay ups the other way for Indiana. Need pivot to uhlis/williams with meah as the picker offense when worster isn’t out there. unless there’s an injury GG won’t get a rotation spot, hopefully he sticks around for next year

It does seem odd that Morgan isn’t closer to that 25-30 minutes a night mark. Feels like an above average post player n pick and roll big from what we usually have then handles the ball on the perimeter fairly well for what we want and he’s definitely a serviceable defender and rebounder IMO. He was a great pull outta the transfer portal for us, great fit

Gonna be interested to watch coley the rest of the way, her box score wasn’t amazing today but between her quickness and length she was a pain in Minnesotas ass all afternoon. I like the turnstile substitutes with the current state of our team, best way to try and replace Potts is find the hot hand each night IMO. -
If we can win at MSU with Berke out this weekend then this team is definitely legit. Gonna be a tough task as there’s only 15 fouls to go around instead of 20 for the front court.
-
I think finishing in the top 6 in the big ten is within reach, we rebound better than last year as a team, feels like we are more versatile when it comes to scoring, and overall we field a taller/longer rotation than last year. Saying all this we can’t afford any injury’s of more than a week or 2 especially in the front court. i believe the big ten is deeper and quite a bit better than last year to both from adding teams and Michigan/Maryland looking much better

Kudos to hoiberg and staff. Idk what they had for NIL money but I’d guess a significant amount went to bringing back Williams and Gary. Was still able to get what looks like 2 dudes in essegian and Berke, 3 good role players in Morgan, meah, and Worster. Then what looks to be a worth while project in griffiths if he maintains today’s effort. is Morgan what breidenbach was billed to be? I Really like Morgan’s game. if Uhlis can get into the lane in big ten play like he did today that’s gonna be such an asset, that type of play is what last years team really missed IMO. What a fun development Jacobsen is off the bench. Different type of player than Sam is but brings the same sorta stuff to the court when we need it.
