  1. Indiana looks like they are gonna build a lot of houses with all the bricks they have thrown up the last few days.
  2. Let down defensively and intensity wise was pretty predictable after the hard 40 minutes vs Creighton. A bit disheartening how many straight line drives they had in the second half but the line ups we had out there were pretty funky also. feel pretty good about our front court assuming everyone’s healthy. Things look better with meah setting more picks and handling the ball less up top. Morgan is a bit clunky but is pretty skilled offensively and seems to rebound at a high clip. Berke does it all and has been a much better rebounder than expected. Not enough positive things to say about what Gary does for us. I don’t see it with GG on defense. Don’t think he’s ever gonna be a good on ball defender. I do think he eventually runs into making some shots and athleticism/length wise he brings some great things off the bench. I just wish he was stronger with the ball when he has it in his hands. had alil higher hopes for Uhlis too. Didn’t think he would light up the score board but thought he would take care of the ball and be somewhat of a defensive stopper….he doesn’t look like either so far It’s great to have a guy like Jacobsen who you can throw into the rotation in a pinch but doesn’t have to be in it every game too.
  3. Ashworth was back and they shot 35 percent from 3 even. Got killed on the boards though
  4. Why are we helping our 7’1” center in the mid post? sure hope whatever happened to Berke is nothing there, he had a pretty big gimp in the tunnel
  5. I’m not sure we have any lob throwers? We tend to miss a few wide open cutters per game too. What we do have it looks like is guys that can put their heads down and get to the rim and guys that can make 15 footers.
  6. I don’t think so, I think it goes Berke, Morgan, meah in terms of minutes played per game going forward with Gary getting quite a bit of run at the 4. I want to clarify I don’t think meah is worthless, he very much has a role. He just can’t be the pivot point of the offense from the high post or 3 point line. Very much looked like some offensive adjustments were made last night.
  7. They cut his minutes down to 11 and stopped trying to make him the pivot point of the offense. He has a role it’s just not a 20 minute a night role on this team. Hopefully the shift to a more 1 on 1 iso offense and mid range jumper game allows him to get a few easy buckets per game going forward. I still think think Morgan should start over him.
  8. I get that he was homesick it sounds like but leaving Virginia sure looks like a mistake…feels like he’s went the wrong way development wise. green always felt like a bit of a project(1 I very much wish we woulda landed) but he seems quite a ways from a finished product yet too.
  9. This team embraces the 1 on 1 mid range and attack the basket game when essegian isn’t on the floor and keeps up the rebounding and free throw shooting we might have something. not the biggest player or the most talented player but we are still going to be talking about the effort Gary plays with on this board in 10 years. didn’t have Berke holding his own vs a potential all American for 15+ minutes at the 5 position on my bingo card…he continues to really impress as an all around player.
  10. Atmosphere was great today if you were there, sounds like it was equally great last night for the woman’s game. meah needs to sit and Morgan needs to take a majority of those minutes, then trim to rotation down to 8ish guys. St. Mary’s looks pretty damn good, very physical and offense is both efficient and they have 3-4 guys that can shoot it. Shorten the rotation and I think we can win some of these type of games in the Big ten. Do we give Janowski a look to provide some bench shooting?
  11. Essegian and Griffiths are gonna have to find their strokes from deep or the defensive efforts and improved rebounding aren’t gonna matter in the long run
  12. Morgan get hurt tonight? Felt like he wasn’t in at all in the second half?
  13. Going to be a long Big Ten season I fear….gotta shorten that rotation in a hurry I think
  14. Took my 2 oldest to there first husker game today and the environment was a lot of fun for them, really got into the second half defensive chants when we were trying to will some stops for the skers. Bummed we didn’t get to see prince in a skers uniform today but seeing 14 3s go through the net somewhat made up for it. Foot speed on the perimeter is going to be a problem again this year unfortunately but post play looks to be improved over last year, they just refused to throw it into the post for most of the first half. Bozan is gonna be a good one once she figures out the defensive side of the ball, very skilled, good hands, and looks to be all of 6’4” to me. Rimdal looks like a pretty good option to help fill Shelly’s shoes too. Everyone stays healthy and we get the right draws 20+ wins and a chance at a sweet 16 seem in play.
  15. Yup, has a low post game and a mid post game. If he fixes his three point stroke I could see us running the offense through him when he’s on the court. Then let’s just hope he stays in front of his guy on defense for the most part and grabs the rebounds a 6’9” guy should
  16. Unless something changes this summer I don’t think we should be to enamored by the thought of Berke being a plus defender
  17. Feels like our athleticism will be improved from last year?
  18. I wonder if brazile went back to Arkansas because we were no longer recruiting him or if that was the plan all along from his camp. also no idea what the basketball program has for NIL but from the guys we have gotten or Atleast gotten on campus for visits it has to be a healthy amount.
  19. The length we could have on defense with him and Morgan in the front court and GG at the 3 would be crazy. id be kinda shocked if a bigger school doesn’t jump in though. Sounds like he was expected to stay in the draft ?
  20. You guys seem to be forgetting we may have gotten a program changing player in Britt prince, still need some depth in the post but the last 2 classes seemed pretty good from my point of view
  21. Illinois although replacing basically everyone has had a good offseason
  22. I would guess they still add a 6’3” plus player as depth. It just won’t be the caliber of player we hoped for.
  23. Have things changed where players not from the United States can directly receive NIL?
  24. Um ya, 6’10 guy with as much offensive skill as any 4 we have had since Copeland. Really rounds out the overall roster with him either being the starting 4 or being one of the first guys off the bench.
  25. Rosters kinda clunky right now. We have sacrificed some shooting for some length which I think we needed to do. Don’t feel great about anyone after my perceived starting 5 + hoiberg though. A 4 man that could play 20+ minutes a night would go a long ways to shoring things up. IF GG is the guy recruiting services thought he was out of high school and he can start at the 3 then slide Williams to the 2 a lot of this would be a moot point to. Would just plain outscore people with enough length on defense to force a lot of turn overs and bad shots. That feels like a big If tho
