The makeup calls the last 5 minutes of the first half were outrageous. And entirely predictable. After Bo Ryan went nuts on the block-charge call (it was close, but I think they got it right), I said at the time: "Watch for the makeups the rest of the half." Sure enough. The one area my wife thinks I'm actually smart.

Good point; losing Massachusetts, New York and California was virtually impossible, so perhaps this was a good choice after all. -

Mondale. Bad karma for those games next week, Jimmy. -

You have become a homer, Extreme. You must have missed some game action. I have no problem with arguing more minutes for Fuller, but to suggest that concern about his on-ball defense is just "crap" is reality avoidance at its finest.

6-15 from the line. We better get that figured out.

I must have missed this before. Between this and the constant praising of his personality, I get a huge Biggs vibe and it probably explains some of his issues at Louisville. He very well might be right about having a better chance at the NBA at Georgetown...assuming he can make it on the court. I think we could handle some headaches if the talent was there but I'm not sure the talent/drama ratio is where it needed to be. It's probably for the best for both parties he didn't end up here. We all want local D-1 kids to play here so thankfully we have a guy like Arop coming down the road. I've always envied those who are not burdened with self-awareness. This is my bad. Should have gotten back to this post and Dimes post as well quicker, but it was from the thread from like a year ago when Akoy was being recruited the first time when I posted that. Definitely didn't mean to sound bad or anything like that. Your posts were fine, Ben. My response was directed at Agau, not your post. He has a little better chance than me of making an NBA roster, but not by much.

A "medical redshirt" allows a player to get an extra year of eligibility if (1) she has played in 10 or fewer games, and (2) has a season-ending injury. Banham had played in 10 or fewer games, AND had a season-ending injury. I don't know how strict the NCAA would be on the second requirement. One would think a chronic stress reaction might qualify, and a doctor could state that rest through the season is indicated. But Connie suggested on her show that Chandler and Jasmine couldn't meet the "season-ending injury" part of the test for a medical redshirt. A non-medical redshirt is only available when the player does not play at all. So Chandler's 4 minutes in one game disqualifies her for a standard redshirt. I would think they could get the season-ending requirement given the chronicity of her problem. However, based on Connie's remarks last night, either we think she can help us this year and therefore we don't want to pursue a medical redshirt, or they think she couldn't meet the second requirement. it used to be a percentage of games played (20%), but I believe it has now changed to a certain number of games. Probably to be more fair to the players on teams that don't make the postseason.

Rivers was very active in the first half. Liked that a lot. Sorry to be negative, but I have to get this off my chest: Our crowd flat out sucked tonight. Place was dead. Big winnable game, and nothing. I got a lot of stares for yelling tonight. sorry to disturb the peace in section 118. -
Says Walter Winchell. Got this one. Do I win a prize? Late to the party Norm. Bugeater got that one last night. (granted, other forum, but he got it.)

Great win. Hopefully coming home we can start to work some other players into the lineup. I question whether we can get very far playing 5 players so many minutes.

Yeah, I'm sure he is bummed out by another Creighton loss today, so he is trolling around tonight trying to make himself feel better.

Great story, Jimmy. Thanks for sharing. That movie touches a lot of us. My own dad played in the State Tournament in the 40s, when Class D played on the stage in the coliseum, for a tiny Nebraska school which hasn't existed since 1962. When the movie came out, he said the caravan of cars to the road games perfectly replicated the experience of his little town. And I still remember the running one handers he shot, consistent with some of the footage in the movie.

Except the part about getting a buyout, which didn't happen. And that it has nothing to do with HHC lore. Jay Fan might have missed those parts.

I was thinking Kidney coached an even younger team, such as 6th grade girls. UBEL: Kidney, and perhaps Brad Guru, also were not fans of Ubel, and constantly dissed Doc for playing him. Ubel and the too deep rotation were the sources of all of our woes in those years. DOUBLE DOUCHE: Nickname (Baseball 13, and perhaps Royal Fan) for the notorious and evil Double Jay Alum, who obsessed over hating the Huskers despite his Omaha residence. He would occasionally protest that he was a Husker agnostic rather than a hater, but then got busted indoctrinating his 5 year old daughter to also hate the Huskers. Upon which he expressed his pride in her cheering against the Huskers. Ultimately banned. But other similar posters continue to be accused of being Double Douche under a different handle.

Did anyone see what Tarin did at the end of the first half to earn Coach Miles' displeasure? Coach rode Tarin hard all the way to the tunnel. I was guilty of texting while (not) watching, so I missed the last couple of sequences. -
Tee has to find her shot. We will struggle to win with her going 2-14. The ball is coming off her hand in bad shape. Supinating vs. pronating, if that brings back any memories from basketball camp. Our lack of post size continues to be a problem at times, although we only lost the offensive rebounding category by 2. I just can't imagine how good we would be if we had gotten Chartrice White, who had 22 last night in an Illini win over a good Iowa team.

How far forward that "bigger role" will go will depend on Fuller. You have to deserve and earn court time with this coach. I hope he does. With that, I'm heading to PBA. -
I'm just going to go to each game and enjoy it the best I can. Win that game if possible. Wears me out to always be looking ahead to the implications for post-season play.
