  1. A couple of things...Jaz the last two games is the only player over 30 minutes per game. Allison, Issie, and Alexis are in the mid 20's. Looked at some of the B1G teams and they have minimum 2-3 players over the 30 minute mark. Not saying it would have made a difference in the last two games but when you need more production we need our best group on the floor.
  2. I also would point out Drake almost took Iowa down. It went to OT before Iowa won. I think this is more than just a problem from the last two games. As JB says, more wood to chop.
  3. Agree Jaz is trying to do too much with the absence of Sam. I also do not get Trinity Brady in the starting line up. Her last true meaningful time for a season was 2020 when she played in 17 games. 20-21 was all of two games and 21-22 was a completely missed season. The last two games have been all of 11 minutes and 15 minutes with almost no production. IMHO she would have been better coming off the bench. Maybe Maddie, of one of the Kendall's in the line up. We are missing a reliable three pointer shooter and a 4-5 this year. Maggie will help but most likely still a month away. One thing Sam did was force the drives sometimes. More often than not made to the free throw line. Jaz and Allison seen to want to avoid contact in the paint.
  4. Would like to see Weidner take more than three shots. She is good at the FT line. Sometimes you need to call your own number a little more often. She can be a three level offensive player for us as well as Jaz. That could take up the missed Haiby drives she is known for.
  5. Outside of a poor shooting performance last year, and if they did not shoot so poor may have even won that game. When does Amy say to herself that she needs to rethink her approach to Creighton and teams similar to Creighton? I think Amy can be real predictable. How often has she changed her starters depending on opponent? Outside of illness, injury she sticks with the same group from the opening tip, to the start of the second half for the season. Yes there are the rare changes but not very often. Has she improved as a D1 P5 coach? Yes she has but she still has little things that seem to come back and bite us in the...well you know where I am going with this. Now I do think a loss like this can serve as a wake up call for us. I expect a better game at Drake.
  6. Kind of what I expected against Creighton. Amy can point to defense, turnovers but this is what they have done to us when we play in Omaha for all the games under Amy's lead. Not much to say, hopefully the team (players and coaches) learn from it.
  7. Now I know where to voice my displeasure to. Thanks!
  8. Looks like the rate is $29.99/month. I will be listening to B107.3 tonight.
  9. Was hoping to have it also on BTN+ as I have maybe only one other time heard reference to Flosports. Very disappointed this game is not on a more known entity.
  10. Alexis and Issie did not have great games on Friday. As I noted during the first game Alexis was receiving ice, or heat for her lower back (would think heat to keep her loose) during the first game. I did not notice any treatment during this game so hopefully a minor problem. We did not get into any type of rhythm for the paint so that can be part of our numbers as a result.
  11. We really are a guard, small forward heavy team. Amy should have looked for a transfer (4-5) to come in. I hope Alexis has just a minor problem with her back and is able to play through it. If the VB team play in Omaha I think it was stated Maggie was taking a couple of weeks before starting her BB season. That would put her after Xmas just in time for the Michigan game. Coley is not a front court player, and Stewart can be a liability on the defensive end. If we lose Alexis or Issie for a few games or longer it would be tough sledding until Maggie gets here.
  12. Granted UNO did not offer much of a test for us but when that happens we should win in a dominant fashion. It appears Issie is starting where she left off from last year. I expected Allison to show much improvement from last year. I did notice Alexis was getting heat (??) when she went to the bench for her back. Hopefully just something minor. Nice game from Krull yesterday. Not sure who listened to the post game presser from Issie and Maddie but you can tell she is happy to be home and with this group as they are with her. Maybe it was Sam that asked her and Amy her role, namely coming off the bench being a scorer ( well it was done before). Thought both handled it well considering Amy knows and maybe Maddie as it was a reference to Leigha Brown. Also liked seeing the girls sitting together rather that by front court and back court as we have seen since Amy has been here. Looking forward to Friday.
  13. Taking a long lunch from work today. Looking forward to my first in person game action.
  14. Mendelson will not ever see the court unless it is to replace an underperforming starter. Cook has too many high level players (23 class again ranked #1) coming in here at MB or RS attacker. Allick was on an USANT as was Mendelson. Allick will be a multi AA when she is done at NE. I think she will settle on WBB in a couple of years.
  15. While I can appreciate what Bluder has done as a coach, I think it is more you like her or you don't as a coach. Same goes for Clark and Czinano. Very good players at this level but think they can come off as not very humble IMO.
  16. I would guess as they thought it was season ending and not something pressing where it needed to happen right away (she was walking without any type of support at the intro night a few weeks back) they may have just decided to work her into the surgeon's schedule. Again just a guess on my part.
  17. I would be surprised if Sam is back by the end of December. Going from out for the year to maybe back later in the season (if all goes well) sounds like end of January or early February.
  18. Nice to see Williams having Cook give a talk to the team via a very small Twitter snippet.
  19. As much as I would love to be there I will be in Kansas at an event.
  20. I think in the 20s is a good place for us to start. Yes loosing Sam will hurt at some key moments but I feel we have more then enough talent to make up for the loss. I also agree we are thin at 4-5. Certainly once Mendelson joins the team ( hopefully after picking up some hardware in Omaha) I do think will be a great addition but I would have loved to see us picked up one from the portal. That said we just need to play within our selves and we should have another great year. Expect both Allison and Alexis to take a good jump this year. Jaz will be our floor general that makes this team so much better.
  21. After the season Jaz had last year she should have been selected this year.
  22. Also a little surprised by their ranking. Will be a adjustment without Naz. The still have plenty of talent so maybe a little too low. If Brown can stay injury free and have a complete year will be a plus from them.
  23. Was there as well. Brady started along with Jaz, Issie, Alexis, and Allison. . Will be interesting how fall camp goes. Was thinking we may see Krull in that roll as a starter. Of course no Sam on the court and Dillard as well. Was hoping to see a little of Dillard. What I expected from what we seen on the court. There is a replay on the WBB portion of Huskers.com.
  24. Not to take anything away from Sam but...Jaz was the best player on the team a year ago and the numbers back it up.
