We have 3 games left. I think 1-2 is a realistic outcome. If we go 0-3 then we need a complete change as much as it will hurt the program on a whole to start over. 1-2 and Williams need to take a hard look at not only herself, but her assistants and as loyal as she is to her staff, that could be hard for her. 2-1 or 3-0 I just do not see happening. Even if it did still think Williams still needs to take a hard look at the program as a whole. If we strike the first year we are 53-51 in the B1G currently. We can and should be better than that.

So I like to watch interactions within our team, our opponent and with the officials beside watching the action on the court. So I thought it was interesting during the first time out of the Northwestern game the girls was coming back to the bench, Bourne had a nice start to the game, here was coach Mays coming out on the court to talk with Bourne and Issie was not having any of it as she was going right to the bench and there was Mays following her. We all have seen Amy go off during the game on calls, pushing it as far as she can without a "T". Wonder if at some point those same officials just tune her out, or make/not make calls based on her interaction with them.

Just a little about Allison Weidner. Before her injury she was the most athletic player we had. Certainly on par with other players in the conference. Noticed a few tell her good luck with her recovery. KBA reached out to her during warm ups, and Shyanne Sellers post game here in Lincoln stopped by the center huddle to say something to her. That was of course after the game she had in Maryland. She has the respect from other teams that she deserves. Hope to have her back as close to 100% for next year.

I came to this board after Connie was asked to go. Have to wonder does she even want to get back into a coaching role? How old is her son? Is he playing somewhere?

Having a year like this makes recruiting hard, even in your own backyard. Also those here may look at their options. So what does Trev do?

What is hard to watch for me is both AM and MM work so hard to get good position on the blocks, and we do not attempt to get them the ball. When your bigs work hard like that you need to reward them and we just don’t seem willing to do that. Passing, defense. It’s like a broken record stuck in one spot. As close as I am, also not sure I want to watch the Iowa game in person.

Hake played 8 minutes and no shots.
-
We played mostly with our starters, all 30+ minutes and still lost. We no longer play as a team. Williams has lost this group. Time for her to go.
-
Keller is a very good coach, she will get her chance to be a head coach soon. Don’t see it happening at MN.

Agree that the reporters need a mic in there area when asking post game questions. Sam, anything to add this this?

Matt works for the university. The tough questions need to come from our reporters like Sam.

For those that watched on BTN+, nice to see Bourne and Kiser exchange a few pleasant words before the opening tip. Played better but as pointed out, we do not have a deep bench. Michigan was without Phelia, and Kampschroeder and still have players to turn to. I do think Brown just did not mesh well with Williams, and maybe a few players that do mesh well with Williams so it was better for her to move on. Plus easier for her parents to see her in person. Also credit to KBA for seeing Brown as a point, it was a bit of a gamble and has paided off well for them. That would be one thing about Williams, if Brown would have stayed, doubt Amy would have made such a move. If we can play this way at MN it should be a win. But with this team, feel like I am Forrest and his box of chocolate's.

MM is still 17, not 18 til April. Hard to work on things mid season so I will give her a pass.

I had high hopes for Coley. She did come in early. Looked promising to start with but think she doesn’t seem to grasp both offense and defense very well. Notice she sometimes gets direction from her teammates when on the court.

Another Aussie is coming in.

This team is not going to the NCAA. Would not be surprised if we are one and done for the B1G tourney and then one and done for the NIT. Would also not be surprised if we see some enter the portal after the season. Not saying I know anything but would think a few will consider it.

While missed FTs hurt, (AM going 1-6 is a 56% FT shooter this year) and the 20-0 run they made really hurt, per the official stats we went from 1:43 in the 3rd and did not make another FG til 1:36 in the 4th. In that stretch a lot of missed in close shots where we could have turned it into a three point play when we was fouled and plenty of poor decisions (turnovers) as well. Sam, yes we have a tough schedule down the B1G stretch, and it will not get any easier but as talked about more going on with this team. AM looked pissed after the game and I am not sure she did the post exchange with everyone. She could not get through it fast enough. Another tough game to watch and I can understand not making a 2-3 hour drive to watch this in person. I am 40 minutes away plus work in Lincoln so it is easy from me but if I have a long drive in it just would not be worth my time. Would still watch it.
-
We need to go 3-3 down the stretch to even entertain a thought of the NCAA tourney. From here on out we need no bad loses. This game maybe our best chance to get a win against a team ahead of us. If there was a time to play a complete game tonight's the night.

NUtball, I think this also goes back to my point in the other thread. We need to play with more aggression. We play too passive. Krull should have got up and locked in defensively and let her know we will not take that type of play from them.
-
I do think you are correct that Amy only wants players that fit the culture she wants here. Players like Leigha Brown do not fit what she wants here and if they do come, then they may leave early. But I would add part of the difference from last year to this year is we had players (Cravens, Cayton) that play with a more aggressive stance, think boxing...last we took a punch and punched right back mostly, this year we take a punch and we either fold or wait too long to punch back. You need a healthy balance of both in my view. You hope you get players that are more aggressive that know how to channel it. Now this is not the only problem with this years team but just one of many.

This team has some serious problems. Too much experience on this team to make this many errors. It can not just be the players. This is more than loosing one player (Allison). Thursday could be a long night.

All three complain on calls. All three are good enough to not be doing it. Miller would have fit into V Stringer's teams quite nicely. Brown actually stops playing to complain to the officials. Clark who I think is the worse of the three, would guess she was this way early on (club). -

As far as Brown, Clark, and Miller...I would use the term aggressive and they all push it as much as they can. Jaz's attempt at a behind the back pass and missing badly could be looked at as a "hot dog" type of play. I would also add they all three players get favorable reviews from B1G and national media. We may not like how they play, but all will do well come time for conference awards (All-B1G) or national awards (All-American).
