I feel like the media is basing more on what she has done as a player that what she has done as a coach to this point. Being her first coaching job can be tough. Will see how she does this year.

Cain is having a great year so far. I hope she can continue. We need her on both ends if NE will make a serious push for the NCAA tourney.

Watching this game in person and then watching the game on BTN after I got home. What looked like some missed calls during the game actually were called correctly. They still missed some traveling calls. Was surprised to see the women ref was a one time NBA official. She also was fired from the NBA. I still think they missed some fouls but they really did not want to make it about them unlike some other recent games.

Well our girls may read this forum, they may not. The same could be said about Volleytalk where the NE fans are quite active. When you play at a D1 school this come with the territory.

Real time has the NE/WI game already played? NE 3-1 and WI 1-3?

I think getting to the final four as an official is more about who you know than how well you call a game on the court. I heard Matt and Jeff before remark about how we should have a good call to the game because one or two have done a final four. Then only to see them miss some obvious calls.

I have watched a lot of women's BB since NE entered the B1G and I think there are some refs who do not like NE in the B1G and will make calls against NE for that reason. I also think the B1G tends to treat the top teams (Maryland) better. If at the end of the game if this was Maryland, and MSU I would bet money the call would have gone Maryland's way. If you watch other games you can see calls go in their favor. Iowa last year got those type of calls. look at the Iowa game, Doyle toward the end got the benefit of a few calls where there should have been a no call or an offensive foul, but low and behold NE got called for the foul. It is not just WBB, if you watch the men play you can see it there as well. Yup, happens on the football field as well. Volleyball is actually pretty good but we are one of the top teams in the country so they don't have a lot of choice plus I think it is harder to make calls that way in the match. I do think Connie's teams played with a tougher mental edge. That is something you recruit in a player. I do think we have some on this group but it has to start with the seniors and I do not think our seniors have that edge. Nicea comes close but Amy's teams do not play that way.

So who thinks this is the last game of the decade as the WBB twitter account would suggest? I myself tend to think we have one more year to go. Anyway let hope the Big Red keep it going! GBR!

It is too bad the refs had to interject themselves into the game in the 4th quarter. Doyle was given some free trips to the line by them. A few times it was all her and the call went against NE.

So will that be in the printed edition or is it online only?

While I would like to see Leigha move into the starting lineup it has more to do with the quality of play from Sam or Hannah. Leigha normally comes in for Sam. While Sam had 10 points, and 6 assists, she also had 5 turnovers. Sometimes that is Hannah's assist/turnover numbers. I guess I would like to see Hannah come off the bench.

I think either Whitish or Haiby should sit and Brown should start. With B1G starting if we can't be a legit threat from three then our inside game will suffer.

Hannah play a great game against Duke. This is what we need from our senior. The 2 to 1 ratio for assists to turnovers is pretty standard for a point guard. Granted she is not a natural point guard but she did pretty well as a sophomore and took a step back last year. Coach Williams comments post match talked about the assists against made baskets after the game. It was quite high. We also had 20 turnovers which is too high.

I think that is just what we need to expect from Hannah. Sometimes she may have 5 assists but then have 3-4 turnovers. Most times if you can have a 2 to 1 ratio it is acceptable. She has not been close to that for a while now so I just don't expect it to change.

Brady was in a game, and Kissinger was in practice. Interesting how it effects people differently. Knuckles missed one volleyball match and attended the home match. Stood with her teammates with no glasses and it looked like no ear plugs. Hope to see both back soon!

So any word on Trinity, and Taylor's progress coming back from concussions?

So those of you at the game did you notice both Taylor, and Trinity did not spend a lot of time on the bench? Taylor spent a little more time than Trinity. After the half both came out with sunglasses, and ear plugs. Would not be surprised to not see either one on Sunday as well.

Brown and Haiby, nice to see a forward, and guard capable of both putting in 20+ on a given night. Reminds me of Moore and Hooper. Our two most complete players on the offensive side, and getting better on the defensive side. I would say if they are both on our chances are good for a W.

So I finally have a season ticket. I went to 10-12 games a year normally. Excited to the season to start. Looking at Huskers.com, I would think maybe the starters came from the coaching staff?

Brown - We need her offense , she can create her own shot plus can get to the line Haiby - much the same as Brown Eliely - Defense, can she be a reliable scorer? Mershon - Defense and a great role player Cain - She needs to be a consistent player this year. Less silly fouls and a reliable presence on the block Bourne - If Cain has not taken her game to the next level. Again need a presence on the block NE needs to get off to a better start, less coming from behind. I think this group can get NE off to a good start

OK - So I have viewed this forum for years. Big WBB fan. I think a big question for this team is who will be the leaders this off season, and into the next season? This year lacked leadership. If they are to move forward then Hannah, and Nicea need to step up. Also think we need to see more from Sam, and Leigha as well. Maybe Williams should talk to Cook to get some advice as he has it figured out.
