Everything about that half was shit. They all participated. Sure, some were more shit than others, but it was a team effort. -

Gotta haves, portal or otherwise
cornfed24-7 replied to Norm Peterson's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I think he needs 2 ready to go scorers and a PG from the portal. Easier said than done. A Palmer type. Next year can’t be about the future. Hoiberg has to win. He has to build on this year. If he back slides next year to something that resembles his 1st three years I don't see how you retain him. But if he has success next year I think you could justify an extension of some sort and give him some breathing room and not constantly be in win now mode. -
Cut the cord like 3 years ago and got Hulu. Great decision. Never thought I would watch on my phone much. I bet I watch 75% of it on that damn thing. Apparently Cocomelon and Blippi overrides what I want to watch

unelinstu's postgame chatter: vol 15, ed 9: Creighton
cornfed24-7 replied to HuskerFever's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
The team most certainly does. Myself, however, will be basking in that glorious disposal of trash for quite some time -
I agree. Especially after this year. I absolutely did not think we would be competitive. Transfer portal is the wild card next year. But I do think he needs to strike gold in it. And that gold better not have an attitude problem and value a team 1st approach.

Those are really big ifs. Look I'm on record stating I was completely wrong about this years team. And I applaud Hoiberg for the job he's doing this season. But to view this year as year 1 is silly in my view. Don't get me wrong, gun to my head at this very moment, I say Hoiberg gets another year. But there's a lot of season left. And a culture might be established in a year, but maintaining it is a completely different beast. Hoiberg isn't going to have old man Walker and a kid that grew up whose dream it was to play for Nebraska in Griesel next year.

MLS and Sporting KC - Official Thread

A timely article with some data points to back up this sentiment "Put in other mathematical terms, that is nearly 300% growth in the last 40 years. There is no other sport in America that has taken off as quickly over the last 40 years as soccer among high schoolers." https://www.cnn.com/2022/12/12/football/soccer-popularity-us-world-cup-spt-intl/index.html -

And his defense is getting better. He has his physical short comings, but it looks like he is learning how to minimize them. -

Ha! Funny you asked. I posted this in a different thread today - I really like what he's doing this year. Its unfortunate we're only seeing this type of team in year four. Even if he does come back next year the ugly truth is he's pretty close to being in coaching no mans land. He's not getting an extention. Its the same place Miles was at in his last years. Its a good thing there's a portal because that's likely Hoibergs only chance to turn this thing around if he's retained. -

If they continue to compete like this the wins will come, but yeah, what you said.
