Vengeance is Mine, Sayeth the Herbie--83 I Don't Know Nothin' 'bout Stealing No ADs, Ms. Scarlett and Cream!--71 RIP Hattie. You ain't ever forgotten in this house....:) We're either going to start another killer streak or we;re going out like lambs... I'm going with elite 8 because I'm heavily medicated...THREE (3) -
I have to work in the land of "gurus" and all of them are a bunch of hustling frauds. Their one skills seems to be detecting the most gullible person in the room and then working them over.

I watched my first Husker basketball game ...

My two faovorite college teams growing up were....Michigan and Iowa...:) Michigan because of my father (I had no allegiances b/c I grew up in Europe as I mentioned in another recent post) and Iowa because my older sister went to colelge there before I ever knew Nebraska was even a state...:). As you might imagine,, I didn't take too well to us joining the B1G. It's hard to quickly overhaul a long lifetime of favorites. Edit: Full disclosure, I still secretly root for those two teams when they're playing anyone else...:) Just like I still do with Creighton for the same reaasons. I was going to CU games before I even set foot in Lincoln for the first time. I remember watching Bird play at the civic in those ridiculous shorts and being blown away by how much better he was than anyone else on the court. -
TV Ted is a name I hope to never hear on a broadcast ever again....as someone on twittler put it earlier, he's like the Angel Hernandez of basketball officials...

just try to ignore the next possible game this time....want no part of Houston....this is one of the biggest reasons I wanted to get to a 7 seed, which we likely would've done if we make it to the finals. on the other hand, A&Ms as good an opponent to break the streak on as any and the broadcasters will get plenty of fodder for canmera closeups off Trev looking confused as to who to root for...

uneblinst's postgame chatter: vol 16; ed 32- Indiana
tcp replied to Bugeaters1's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
humphries! i was tucked away in Yong-in going native for 15 mos. Would've killed to have a Burger King, but at least we hadminimal adult supervision and the single biggest bar in the ROK, so fun was always right around the corner. -
I'd be happy if they just stopped the bleeding for two years and not make any more stupid consultant-driven changes just to put some cash into someone's pocket. I'd swear one of these regent types has a nephew running their own third-rate internet-content company and they're getting inside jobs as much as that site sucks.

uneblinst's postgame chatter: vol 16; ed 33- Illinois

I agree that any head rot that happens in a game dissipates afterward...a trait common in teams as old as ours is. (we also can't forget that our team is frigging *old*) But that still leaves the question of "in-game" psychology when you're playing in a sudden-death environment as all tourneys are. Maybe to think of this another way: is this a team really well built for the grind of conference play but not so much for the faster dynamics of tourney play? -

I'm still concerned about this team's composure under pressure....if you look at the bulk of their games in the last few weeks, you see a trend of us either blowing people out (15 pts plus) OR losing (although this ony happened twice). In those two losses, we were unable to get the lead out to an inapproachable point and folded down the wire. There's also the little issue of letting refs get into our heads, as I think they did (and with good reason, obviously, but still, you gotta get above that) yesterday. Hopefully I'm wrong and that this team can handle the pressure of a wire to wire game in the tourney. But it's just one of those things that strts sticking out as a trend if it lasts for 3-4 weeks. -
