i still want to think that the committee's going to give us credit for the full strength win versus Minny in December. Rasmussen will be on top of that one, I think. But maybe I'm just guzzling far too much kool aid this week. I can't help it. It's delicious!

Blutto Blutarsky: "What the hell is this, a Michigan board! Come on!" Perfectly fair position. I've watched both play lately and I think we're better. But we'll see, won't we? Oh yes, we will see. (insert maniacal laugh here, but not too maniacal).
-
we're not, which is why i used the words I did. I'm suggesting that if someone were two watch the recent games of both teams, they'd likely conclude that at this time we're better than the Wolverines. That's pretty much all I said and all I meant. Will that happen? No idea. I ain't in the room. But if word on the street is correct--not to mention previous committees claiming to watch a ton of games from bubble teams--then I'll argue that we'll appear better than Michigan at this time. That might not hold up. And then I can revise my opinion if that changes.

meh. we keep winning, we're in. the reality is that I think right now we're a better basketball team objectively than Michigan. I trust that the committee will see it that way when this is over. just keep beating who we should and we're fine. and one thing this team has done is beat the teams it should. and that bodes well for us. we don't upset anyone, really. but we don't get upset, either. and that favors us right now. Edit: one thing that I hope we learned: no more tournaments where the losers bracket is appalling. honestly, if you want to look at the loss that probably hurt us most, it was the damned UCF game, because that loser's bracket dropped us like a rock. Or at least it seems that way.

let's go husker women! keep the monster season going!

Ooooh, Chambers is gonna get it! His batting average is gonna drop faster than a french hooker's bloomers. Wait...

we were 14-8 at one time. We're going to finish at 23-8. Outstanding. (we're not losing again this regular season. I have Jobu's word on it and he's' fat on chicken)

Hate wins most days. So my only quibble is with the empirical accuracy of the hashtag. I can't even imagine an America that wasn't freebasing hate speech at a high rate of speed. I'm proud of these guys for being counted, however. on a college campus no less. knowing that there are a lot of fans out there that are going to quietly sympathize with the nazi nutter although they're potty trained enough to keep it at a low volume among their own. Sports and politics have a long, sordid partnership. We don't often notice, because the politics in most sporting events are the kind we view as "normal", or "good". It's when an opinion or perspective that is introduced in that arena that contradicts or deviates from the familiar stories we unconsciously accept that all hell breaks loose with fans. From Kaepernick all the way back to Smith and Carlos in Mexico City, to Louis versus Schmeling to the day we opened up the arena to every military recruiter and flyover ever. I love this team more than I did two days ago because they were willing to deviate a bit from the cultural traditions of the state they play for, even if standing "against hate" isn't exactly going out on a limb on a diversity-obsessed college campus.

ha! Yeah, that'll teach me to type on my meds, won't it? it's been an interesting life, that is true. -
It's also why I don't think the quadrant system survives this one and only season. this is a pretty big flaw. schedules are probably too determinant as it is; the quadrants have magnified what was already an acknowledged problem, especially in mis-weighted (uneven) conferences like ours, where you rotate the opponents you play twice.

so does the 2 pt loss at psu. and the 5 pt loss at osu. we've had quite a few chances to nail that coffin lid down and we passed. So if we misss the tourney, it'll have been our own doing. all that said, I'm just really enjoying this season, and find myself not really worrying at all about how it finishes. this is a fun team to follow. and they've given us a great ride. if that ride goes to the NIT, I'm still going to enjoy it.
