He must have *really* soft hands. He also must have like an 8 foot wingspan because there's no way he has more than a 24" vertical jump. At best. He has touch. But I hate his FT form.

You mean this Adam Howard? https://archive.knoxnews.com/sports/vols/mens-basketball/ex-ut-coach-donnietyndall-blaming-former-assistant-for-show-cause-315ca989-3b37-58e4-e053-0100007f84-377196971.html

Every other team in America got the same extra year for Covid that our kids got. Which makes CJ Wilcher a sophomore and Sam Griesel a 1st year Husker. It's not necessarily appearing likely that Trey will be back. Still a good possibility he's gone. No word on Lat yet, but still a good chance Lat is gone. That's not going to leave a lot of returning Husker minutes.

I was only looking at the guys who counted against our scholarship numbers to try to figure out if we had room to hit the transfer portal beyond the Griesel kid.

I will say this might be one of our better recruiting classes in a while. Last year was over-rated. I've seen some film on the two guards and I think they're pretty talented kids with some athleticism that should translate. I'm very worried about Blaise Keita's knees. In what limited action I was able to review of his, it seemed like he was VERY slow running up and down the floor. He looked like he was in pain. He was running like an old man. He did NOT look like the guy he was his freshman year when he lead his team to the juco national title. I'm hoping and assuming he's still in recovery mode and that he'll return to the athletic form he had as a freshman. If that happens, he'll be very good. I think Denim Dawson is really raw. Diving on the floor for loose balls in practice isn't going to get him on the floor. But we have a couple of freshmen and a NDSU transfer who could give us an infusion of quality depth, so there is some slight reason for some optimism. But I am not going to engage in or pay attention to "if they improve to X%" or "team chemistry is better than last year" etc. I am totally in "show me" mode. Some small reason for some optimism, but they're going to have to prove it.

Someone help me: 1. Sam Griesel 2. Blaise Keita 3. Jamarques Lawrence 4. Ramel Lloyd 5. Denim Dawson 6. Quaran McPherson 7. CJ Wilcher 8. Wilhelm Breidenbach 9. Oleg Kojenets 10. Keisei Tominaga 11. Trey McGowens 12. Lat Mayen 13. Derrick Walker Unless someone else moves out, our roster is full up, right? Are we still out recruiting like there will be more spots to fill? If so, whose? And, by the way, that's a really young team. Again.

Lang, buddy, good to see you. Been a minute.

Can you cross off Mark Turgeon?

I'd be happy to start some rumors if you'd like. In fact, I might have already done that.

Nominations for Staff Backfills
Norm Peterson replied to HuskerCager's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
How about we get an SEC bag man with a shady recruiting background? And then not have him deliver any top notch recruits. It'd be peak Nebraska. -
I do believe Keita would come in as a sophomore.
-
I checked. They don't have any eligibility left.
-
Wouldn't suck if Baylor Scheierman wanted to transfer here, too.

So, it seems like you've taken umbrage to the fact I suggested you're an expert, someone who could potentially give non-experts advice on a particular topic. Was "expert" too mild of a term for someone with your degree of proficiency? I'm confused. I thought it was a compliment.

Boy, what I'd give for a Doc Sadler record and pay scale over the last 3 years.

Boy, I've heard the same "rumor" from multiple people about what Matt's issue was that gave him health problems. And it's been my understanding for awhile that he would be gone at the end of the season, so this was no surprise to me at all. I can't really say what I've been told because I don't want to get anyone in trouble. But let me just say that if you have a weak stomach, you probably shouldn't eat a lot of spicy food, maybe, or do things that would invite a lot of stress into your life. And if you DO do things that would invite a lot of stress into your life and you're not sure how to handle it, consult with an expert in the area like @royalfan who would perhaps be able to give you great advice, like start small, don't make it habitual, set the family's milk money aside, stuff like that. Good luck to Matt's next program.

2022 PG Cale Jacobsen -> Nebraska
Norm Peterson replied to Huskerpapa's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
Whatever and 22, but who's counting? -
Too many of them, actually. "Tom, Tom, pick up the phone; I know you're there."

All this talk about who stays/goes. Listen: It's year 4. You're Fred Hoiberg. You kept your job for another year, but there are no more do-overs. It's put up or shut up time. You do not have the luxury of taking on a project. You do not have the luxury of keeping a project. You must find a way to win in year 4. Anyone on the current roster who isn't a sure bet to make the rotation next season needs to go. Try to keep your best recruits (you can't go entirely scorched earth because, in the event there's a season 5, you don't want to have to do this all over again.) Identify your biggest needs and hit the remaining uncommitted recruits as hard as you can, along with the transfer portal once it opens in full swing. You need: The best available scorer The best available pure shooter The best available rebounder The best available ball-handler/distributor You better hope you can catch fricking lightning in a bottle.

Apparently, my humor is too immature for this board. I still enjoy a good fart joke, what can I say?
-
In the post-game, he said he gutted it out and left it all on the floor. At least I'm pretty sure that's what he said.
-
I didn't see it. Did he drop a deuce?

Grant McCasland will be OFF the board this time next year because somebody gonna scoop him up this off-season. Kansas State men’s basketball coaching candidates: Grant McCasland, Jerome Tang and Dana Ford lead our list – The Athletic

Alonzo Verge: From goat to GOAT?
Norm Peterson replied to Norm Peterson's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Well, most definitely not GOAT. And not really goat, either. But closer to goat than GOAT.
