He's missing an opportunity if he doesn't at least visit.

FIFY You gotta remember we're talking State Penn here.

I'd maybe buy that if Reece left it on the floor. But she continued it into the post-game interviews and onto Twitter. She's not letting it go. She's not taking the high road. She's not being the bigger person. Caitlin Clark is. By any metric you want to describe, other than actual, literal, physical stature, Caitlin Clark has clearly been the bigger person in all of this.

Papa, can you think of any instance where Clark followed an opposing player around the court for 15 seconds during the closing moments of a game, or any other part of a game, making taunting gestures to them? Have you ever seen any player not named Angel Reese follow an opponent around the floor for 15 seconds making taunting gestures in their face and NOT get whistled for a T?

Players taunt all the time. Sometimes it's obvious and direct; other times it's more subtle. I've seen plenty of times where opposing players will waive their fingers in front of their faces as if to indicate they can hit that shot with a hand in their face and you can't stop them. I've seen players get called for technical fouls for taunting. Usually, the technical is when the taunting is directed at a specific opposing player and is at close range. The kind of taunting where you might anticipate retaliation that could lead to a fight. But the sort of general, from across the floor, firing an imaginary arrow or something like that is pretty benign. Which is why I find it so confusing that people are comparing the Reese girl from LSU literally following Caitlin Clark around the floor as the final seconds ticked off of the national championship game trying to get in her face and taunt her with Clark waiving her hand in front of her face in the middle of the Louisville game some distance away from any Louisville players and trying to say those two situations are equivalent. There's taunting, and then there's taunting that will draw a technical foul. What Clark did vs. Louisville is obviously the first type. What Reese did at the end of the title game is obviously of the second variety. And people are trying to say they're the same? I mean, have people lost their ever-loving minds?

Michigan departures are a bad sign for Juwan Howard. Really bad sign. He has recruited well. He's brought in probably the best talent in the league. They haven't won at the level the talent would suggest they should. And now they're hemorrhaging players. And not just end-of-bench guys, either. Howard punching that opposing assistant coach was a symptom.

F Dawn Staley more.

2021 SG Hunter Sallis ->Gonzaga->Wake Forest
Norm Peterson replied to AuroranHusker's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
Telling Robin Washut we were definitely still in the mix and then releasing a top 10 the very next day without us in it was trash. I'm still bitter. -
Anyone remember my great April fools joke a few years ago? Like maybe 10 years ago? I had people really going. I think it was like news of a transfer, either in or out. Hopefully someone has a better memory than me. I always liked a *good* April fools joke.

2021 SG Hunter Sallis ->Gonzaga->Wake Forest
Norm Peterson replied to AuroranHusker's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
I don't care. He's going to go somewhere else. I'm not just not getting my hopes up, I am affirmatively saying I don't care. Let him be somewhere else. I'm not interested. -
I despise Dawn Staley more than I don't like Iowa, so I'm happy for the Hawks getting to the finals.

At this point, he's just one of a thousand kids in the portal AFAIC. My hopes aren't up b/c I don't care about him and think we can get other kids who would be just as good for us or even better.

Transfer Kerr Kriisa -> West Virginia
Norm Peterson replied to hhcmatt's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
Did you see Kriisa's shooting numbers? He attempted only a few more three-pointers THIS year than Keisei did the last TWO years combined. That's maybe why @AuroranHusker would wonder. -
2022 F Isaac Traudt - Virginia->Creighton
Norm Peterson replied to Navin R. Johnson's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
I don't hope he gets what he wants, because him getting what he wants means a successful Creighton team and I really don't want that. I hope he fails. I hope he fails spectacularly. I hope we feel too sorry for him to boo when Creighton is in town. -

I'm not sure what to say. Congratulations to Texas Tech? I'm surprised he didn't get the big promotion years ago. He caught my attention his one and only season at Arkansas St. when they beat Georgetown on the road. North Texas finishes as a Kenpom #31 team, their best finish ever. -

I have some news for Isaac. He’s not from Creighton, he’s from Nebraska. He never lived in Crete. He can’t go home to Craig. Note: I was using talk to text and said Creighton all three times but my Siri didn’t wanna write it and I don’t blame her. -

Still no announcement. I wonder if CU's medical team hasn't cleared him. Which would force him to go somewhere else and that team would then go on to reach the Final 8. I have that script somewhere around here. -
Might be Jameer, not Pierre. Developing.

Chucky is on the phone with someone in Virginia right now and trying to work out a conference call with a guard named Pierre.

This is exactly why I think we should make the 5 year thing permanent.

4th in spending; last in results. That's gonna leave a mark.

Sure. It is now. Just wait till ChatGPT2028 comes along and ruins it for everyone. Five years from now, we're going to be sitting here reading some AI bot having a discussion with itself under multiple screen names arguing exactly how many shots we should be taking/allowing from 3-7 feet from the rim with under five to play in the game -- because some evil computer sonofabitch is going to program his AI thing to create a bunch of message board chatter so we don't start wondering what's in this soylent green stuff we've been eating these last few years. And we'll all be like yeah I wondered whatever happened to that kid who missed a bunch of open treys at the end of that MSU game. Anyway, pass me some more of those eyeball-looking things.

I knew the dad of a kid from Lincoln who went to play for them (you can probably guess who that was.) The hate was real. We're not imagining it.
