Twelve Big Ten teams in the top 50. That's insane. Has that ever happened before? -

And then Watson stumbled getting back up and my heart skipped a beat. And Miles must have seen his season flash before his eyes because he immediately subbed Glynn out and he was done for the night at that point. Y'know, we're up 50 and your starting PG is out there making hustle plays and that's great and all … but no need to risk him getting injured, especially when things are getting a bit chippy out there. -

Some of us said we liked his recruiting film. Others questioned whether he was P5 material. I think he's shown he was worthy of the 'ship. -

So far as the coaches from Clemson and Seton Hall know, Isaiah is just a guy who gets some points in transition from time to time but is 0-1 from three point range, not someone you need to worry about jacking up treys. What I know? Isaiah might be officially 0-1 from 3-point range on the season, but he's about 50-80 at halftime in two games. ? My guess is he's been told not to hoist three pointers until we're facing a team that can actually beat us. -

Yeah? Well, I know something the coaches from Seton Hall and Clemson don't know. ? (If you think I'm being cryptic, you're right.) -

Well, you knew we wouldn't be able to continue rolling teams by 69 every game. It'd just be nice to see us put one of these inferior opponents away rather than letting them hang around within 50 or so. Got to develop that killer instinct. Wait, what year is this again? -
Well, he put up 131 receiving yards yesterday, so now he only needs to average 72 yards receiving the last 2 games to hit the 1,000 yard mark. I think he gets there. Sure, Michigan State and Iowa both have stout defenses but no more so than Ohio State and Wisconsin, where Stanley had 87 and 93 yards respectively.

2019 SG Jervay Green (Juco) - LOI

Just realized one of Jervay's teammates is Henry Tanksley who used to play for Garth Glissman at Parkview Christian here in Lincoln. -

A 2-point shot off the dribble, one of the lower percentage takes out there.

In their first game against LSU, our next opponent, the SLU whatever they are, had 2 players score in double figures. Mo Greenwood, a 6'7" senior forward, scored 12 points in 25 minutes of play while shooting 5 of 8 from the floor including one 3-pointer and one freethrow. The other double-figure scorer was freshman guard Parker Edwards. Good ol' Parker. Parker played all of 10 minutes. But he made good use of his time on the floor. He hit 6 out of 8 3-pointers and went 5 of 7 from the charity stripe and wound up with … 25 points (he hit a deuce as well.) In 10 minutes. Nearly 40% of his team's points. In 10 minutes. Far be it for me to tell Michael Lewis how to do his job. But if #3 is on the floor, we probably should make sure someone has a hand in his face. Just sayin.

Ed especially.

Good news for Stanley is that he only needs to average 92 yards/game receiving in our last 3 games to become the 1st (or possibly 2nd depending on JD Spielman) Husker receiver to reach the 1,000 yard plateau for receiving yards in a single season. And, over the last five games, he's been averaging … 92 yards/game. So, if he keeps that up, he'll break 1,000 yards on the year. Good luck Stanley!

He'd lead the league in steals. Too soon?

2018 G Xavier Johnson - Decommit to Pitt

I don't think Benny's 32% was good. But I would take 32% from Amir in a heartbeat. It wouldn't be "good" but it would reach the category of "that didn't suck too badly." -

Dourisseau was an enigma. His shooting form was really good. He could elevate off the dribble with great balance and be in alignment. But even on a catch-and-shoot situation, his shot would generally miss badly. I began to wonder if he needed glasses because it was like he couldn't judge where the rim was. Does anyone remember the time Dourisseau banked in a trey from the corner? I think it was against Creighton one year. But how the hell do you bank in a trey from the corner? Well, he did it. -
Here's a somewhat sobering stat: How many catches does the third-most prolific WR on the team have? Hint: JD Spielman has 59 catches; Stanley Morgan has 51. If you guessed (or knew) Mike Williams is in 3rd place with 10 catches, you'd be right.

I get what you're saying: You sensed Mike and Ed full of fear Having seen Cope and Palmer all year With playing time down If they stuck around Both felt it best to disappear

uneblinstu's postgame chatter: vol 11; ed prologue
Norm Peterson replied to uneblinstu's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
This is one way in which the way the ADs have handled Miles' contract has hamstrung the program. He's been coaching for his job for a couple of years now and probably would have been terminated two years ago if Eichorst had the political capital at the time to pull it off. He hasn't been able to coach for the long term. He hasn't been able to take chances on project recruits who might need a couple of years to develop, or allow a kid to redshirt who would benefit from the time to develop. His lack of job security (exemplified by non-extensions or 1-year extensions) has meant he's had to "sacrific[e] the future of the program for this year's success." And, eventually, that process of robbing Peter to pay Paul is going to catch up when the future inevitably arrives. -

And the thing about Amir that makes him different from Benny Parker is that, if he can shoot 32% from three as a senior like Benny did, it would have an entirely different impact on how they'd have to play him. Reason being that Amir has the ball skills and length to get to the rim and finish. You didn't have to respect Benny's ability to drive and you could help off of him. With Amir's ability to get to the rim, if you get him up to that same 32% shooting from outside, it's a whole different ball game. -

Who said good? I'd just like to see him go from "OMG THAT'S HORRIBLE!" to "Hey, that really didn't suck too badly." By the way, I think people can develop jumpers. Tai Webster, just as an example, went from shooting 17% from three as a freshman to 23% as a sophomore and then 35% as a junior. So, it can happen. Benny Parker, actually, is another one. He went from 15% as a freshman to 0% as a sophomore (on 5 attempts) to 29% as a junior and 32% as a senior. I'd take 32% from Amir as a senior, no question. -

I'm comfortable with the switch, and I'll tell you why. Amir Harris is long and bouncy. He gets his hands at the ends of those long arms into passing lanes and gets deflections that lead to steals that lead to points in transition. It happened the other night. And it nearly happened a lot more times. He's going to be very disruptive defensively with his length, and he seems to relish that defensive role. I envision him becoming our defensive stopper. He can guard 3 positions and, in a pinch, 4. Imagine him being able to switch every screen at the top of the key. Imagine being on the other team and trying to shoot over top of a 6'6" bouncy guy with what has to be a 7 foot wingspan. He also has pretty solid handles and seems to be a good distributor. I'd like to see him rework that jumper from the ground up, but Xavier's was no better. Maybe even worse. Besides, have you seen what we have coming in next year? Not even talking about Dachon Burke or Jervay Green. There's a video out there where Mika Adams-Woods hit something like 20 treys in a row during warmups. Kid can shoot. Amir has time to develop that jumper; doesn't have to have it this year. And we'll have other guys who can shoot, so ...
