Update: We're still on track. I said we needed at least 7 of the 10 games. Split these last 2 and we get there. Win 'em both, and we're 8 wins in our last 10 and very much on track for the goals we hoped to reach. The ones we lost fell into the "acceptable" loss category. It sucked HOW we lost at Minnesota, but that's not going to look like a bad loss on our resume at the end of the season.

Back up to #21. Yay us. -
Miles expanded that thought on his post-game and said he doesn't think there's a game on the schedule they can't win. He admitted in past years, though you wouldn't necessarily say you *couldn't* win it, you would say it might take a miracle. But this year he doesn't think there's a team we play that we can't beat. If they play like they did tonight, that could very well be true.

Well, whadya know. Ask and ye shall receive. -
I've been looking and I still haven't seen anyone anywhere else point out that Vince Marrow, the recruiter for Kentucky on Wandale Robinson whom we flipped, was a GA for us that took a job at Kentucky and took a number of our players/recruits with him when he left. That's karma, amiright?
-
Yes. Courtney Love was here on campus and was recruited away by Vince Marrow, went to Kentucky and then the NFL. That's in addition to the DB they stole. So, I don't care to hear anything from Kentucky fans complaining about us stealing Wandale Robinson. Didn't seem to bother them when they were taking players from us.
-
Did I mention Vince Marrow also stole Courtney Love from us?

Safety McWilson decommits from NU via twitter after almost a full year of being committed. And switches to Kentucky just days before signing day. https://www.omaha.com/huskers/blogs/recruiting-safety-mcwilson-decommits-from-nu/article_3676914a-77e8-5602-a62d-ef983300ea95.html #TurnAboutIsFairPlay

I haven't seen anyone else point this out, but there's a delicious irony in us getting a recruit to flip from Kentucky. Especially considering that his primary recruiter at Kentucky was Vince Marrow. Remember when Mike Stoops was first hired there and lured Vince Marrow away from our coaching staff? Fine, Vince was just a GA for us and was offered a full-time assistantship with Kentucky. No hard feelings there. And, yeah, he also took his kid with him. Kid wants to play for his dad, fine. But then he also took THIS COMMIT from us on his way out the door. So, turnabout is fair play as far as I'm concerned. Can't believe no one else has brought this up yet. Assuming someone has and I just missed it, but I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else.

Brady Heiman is not ready for Big Ten play. He’s barely good enough for Class C-2. Why did we even offer. He should be playing Y-league. -

All I can say is Brad Underwood is an asshole for calling time out there and the Ohio State players are assholes for fouling. -
Oh, yeah, NZ. Australia light. Ooops.

Yeah, way worse. Tai's shot actually never looked *bad*. There were things you could do to tweak it, but if you go back and look at some of his Australia film before he signed here, he was a guy with a decent shot. I think he shot over 40% from three in a tournament for his Australian national team back then. That gave me a lot of hope for his future here. I think it was @basketballjones who discussed how Tai's shot never really had good rhythm to it, but just due to sheer effort and hard work, he developed into a decent shooter. The form ain't bad, though. I would never have suggested to break Tai's shot down and start over from scratch. Amir, on the other hand, oh booy. I wonder if he's ever watched video of his shot just to see what it looks like. His mechanics are just awful. And if he's a guy who isn't taking many jumpers (and making even fewer), there's little risk to starting over and building him back from the ground up. I don't know that Amir will ever be a good shooter; the goal, probably, should be to get him to at least the level of being adequate. But it has to start with a major overhaul of his shooting mechanics.

Jordy was a Rivals 150. I think he slipped in and got the last spot in the 150 in their last update for that class. He improved a lot over the course of his freshman year. He regressed his sophomore year. But, at his best, Jordy was never as polished and skilled as Brady is right now, and that's not to say Brady is polished. Brady has more skill, but I think he's just a better player overall. Jordy was slow to the ball, had stones for hands, and just seemed to have a low hoops IQ. I think Brady is the opposite of all those things. Jordy had the advantage of mass going for him. That helped him be more effective. I had hoped to see Jordy develop some of the back-to-the-basket moves that Brady has shown. He should have taken a giant step forward over the summer after his freshman year. Those improvements never materialized and then he quit on his team. I think he mentally checked out long before he actually left, though. Brady is far more skilled. He just lacks the mass and the stamina he'll need to be effective. When he gets some meat on his bones, next off-season, though, he'll be a capable role player here.

Plus we'll need a guy with some reps under his belt for next year after Copeland and all of them graduate this spring.

He's hit 5 of his last 12 3-pointers (41.7%) and hasn't turned the ball over in the last 2 games including a 32 minute, zero turnover, 16 point performance against Richmond. To go along with 3 rebounds and an assist. In his 7th game out of high school. He's averaging 24 minutes, and 7 1/2 ppg. I don't care what you say, that's 4-star material right there. Show me 4-star recruits outside the top 50 who are having more impact than that, and I'll show you just as many 4-stars who are having less impact. For comparison purposes, those numbers compare pretty favorably with what Ty-Shon Alexander and Mitch Ballock -- both 4-stars -- did for Creighton in their first 7 games last year. -
