  1. OK, cool. So, we have a guy with a court case coming in on Saturday? What did I miss?
  2. Is this Lewis speaking or you speculating about stuff? Not sure if the above passage is you summarizing what Lewis said or not. thanks
  3. In the tweet, you said "it's a little worrying that the #fbi was in there." I was just asking clarification. You're saying you haven't seen anything linking FBI and Matt A or St. John's, just what was in that tweet, correct? Thanks
  4. I haven't seen anywhere that the FBI was in to investigate St. John's. I looked for a link. Do you have anything or is it based on the tweet you copied/pasted?
  5. Cam Fletcher? He's just a 6'6" 4-star SF from St. Louis, right? Should we be recruiting him?
  6. Do you know something or are you just engaging in some wishful thinking? I'm OK with wishful thinking but I'd rather hear that you know something.
  7. The Ballock kid at Creighton, I believe, had shoulder issues in high school, which I understood caused some blue blood programs to back off of him. He's done pretty well since.
  8. So, as things stand right now: Assistant 1: Abdelmassih Assistant 2: Gates Assistant 3: TBD Spec Asst: Lutz
  9. What was Lutz doing before?
  10. It's been within that timeframe.
  11. There was an ugly scrap a few years back here on this board that involved a political post that I made. It angered some people, and I probably lost some friends over it. At the time, @tcp suggested political posts have no place on this board for a variety of reasons including that they divide a fanbase that should be united over the reason this board exists. I agreed back then not to make political posts on this board. And I've avoided it ever since. I think we've had a tacit understanding not to post political stuff since that time, which has occasionally been reinforced by @hhcmatt. There's no hate here on my part. I just think we should all adhere to the same guidelines and keep politics off the board.
  12. If this isn't political, I don't know what it is. I thought we weren't doing politics on the board anymore.
  13. Probably why he has a good list of schools after him.
  14. I know it's funny to attack Boehm when nobody outside the athletic department knows what it is that he does, for sure. But I think we should give some credit where credit is due: None of the coaches he took part in hiring and none of the programs under his supervision were caught up in any NCAA infractions. The players graduated on time. Our APR scores were good. We haven't been penalized, sanctioned or placed on NCAA probation. We haven't had scholarships pulled or been banned from post-season play. You can joke and say things like "we banned ourselves from post-season play" or "with our win-loss record, we don't warrant an investigation." Haha. I get the humor. But, in all seriousness, there is intense pressure to win when you're at the helm of a revenue sport in a major conference. A lot of people out there glance sideways at the rules that govern things like recruiting, and white lies and pushing the ethical envelope are rationalized if it leads to a better caliber of recruits. And FBI investigations into neighboring programs have cast a pall over those schools' athletic programs, so pushing the ethical envelope is not unheard of or without precedence even nearby. So far as I know, WE have not been implicated. I would rather struggle to achieve mediocrity while preserving my honor and integrity than win dishonestly. Make fun of Marc Boehm if you want. Talk about the lack of basketball success during his tenure. But don't, then, forget to mention we've run clean programs while he's been here.
  15. Something's weird in the way they've done their stats. According to the NJCAA website, he lead the team with 14 plus minutes/game. Only 4 guys are listed as having averaged double-figure minutes. Not sure which stats we can believe, but certainly not the minutes/game.
  16. Virginia had one hell of a 2016 recruiting class. Four Rivals 4-stars, 3 of whom were starters this year and ALL THREE averaging over 40% from beyond the arc. Diakite's a senior, and he's their eraser who protects the rim. Then the three juniors -- Jerome, Guy, and Hunter -- are the shooters who spread the floor. And then the tiny, little Clark kid is a freshman who, y'know ... anyway. Diakite is Roby at 6'9". They list Key as a guard but he goes 6'8" and 225# and leads them in rebounding. They have a couple other tall guys who average limited minutes. So they just won a national title with a primary rotation that features NOBODY taller than 6'9" and nobody heavier than 228#. In fact, their starting lineup went 6'9", 6'7", 6'5", 6'2", 5'9". Interesting.
  17. They kept showing him during our game against TTU as well. Got so tired of that back then. To see them continue to spotlight him was just annoying. But I found it funny when they panned the TTU student section, there were guys wearing Mahomes football jerseys to the basketball Nat'l Champ game. It's like the way Creighton fans always used to mock Nebraska baseball fans by saying they all wear their Eric Crouch jerseys to the baseball games. Thought that was funny.
  18. 6'6" guard, shoots 37% from three. EricWilliams Jr. Duquesne Dukes #50 G Class Sophomore HT/WT 6' 6", 205 lbs Hometown Port Huron, MI 2018-19 season stats PTS 14.0 REB 7.6 AST 1.4 FG% 42.4
  19. Without researching, I tend to agree with this. That's my understanding. Results in an average of just over $250K, which is about what Gates is getting, so makes sense.
  20. That doesn't seem like good enough position to warrant making the jump. I doubt he'd do any worse than that a year from now. But he could show a lot this next season and potentially really raise his draft stock. That'd be worth waiting a year, I'd think. If he's in the 50s, I gotta think he'd come back.
  21. I think Hoiberg's deal is intended to give him an extra $200-250K to divide among his three assistants.
  22. I wasn't going to say anything, but, yeah. To "toe the line" doesn't mean to push things right up to the boundary of illegality; a better definition would be to follow the rules. When one "toes the line" one is doing that which one is supposed to do. To "toe the line" means you're following the rule, not violating it.
  23. His scoring numbers per 40 minutes were like 49, so I don't think that's a misprint.
