Huge win for Big 10 tonight as Illinois takes down FAU.

Free Agency is upon us and there are a lot Of FAs to choose from so far. How many QBs do we take? Do any QBs stick around?

uneblinst's postgame chatter: vol 16; ed 8 - Creighton

One thing that, I think Norms point speaks a little to of, is that Big 10 referees are known for giving guys reputations. With as much passion and emotion that Keisei brings, we do not want him getting a reputation as a complainer or someone they need to keep an extra eye on. The last thing we need is Kelli or some other referee giving out quick techs because Keisei has that rep. -
I’ll be completely honest, I don’t feel we have enough info yet to accurately say… at least not for me. The Creighton game sucked, but it’s a wonkey game all together. It gets a little extra umph because of the situation. It’s a rivalry. Blue state/red state. I could go on and on. Anything can happen in that game and it did. I feel like the next three will tell us more than the previous one about how this team might fare this season. Not every game is going to have the local media attention and umph that Sunday did. We started out 7-0 which most teams would have with our schedule. But we’ve also looked good doing so. We looked like an NCAA team in those wins. There weren’t close games that came down to the wire. We dominated the first 7 which most NCAA teams would also do. But just your run of the mill Power 5 team probably has 1 to 2 of those games closer than it should have been. The next three are all winnable and also all loseable. They are games that an NCAA lock probably goes 2-1 or 3-0 in. They are games that a bubble team will need to win at least 1. CU sucked, but, at least for me, I can’t say what the state of the team is just yet. We’ve done what we needed to against lower tier competition AND lost Sunday while looking ugly doing so.

Can confirm from TV— pretty hard too.

Nebraska (7-1) vs. Minnesota (5-3) Game Thread

Minny has one of the better boards out there at Gopher Hole and I wandered over there this morning. They aren't too confident, but also see this as a must win if they want to make anything of this season. They've already played their first game and are 0-1. They don't expect a large crowd, so jumping on them early would be fantastic. -

They hit multiple shots late in the shot clock and those that didn't go in, it seemed like they got an offensive rebound. Neither of those helped with the above and I think caused us to play faster than we wanted to early. -

Missed opportunity early yesterday was not feeding Mast inside. CU started with Kalk on Allick and Schierman on Mast. Picking up 1-2 more fouls on him early does wonders for us knowing how well he shot the rest of the half. -

TBF, most of the team wasn’t a real threat to score yesterday and those that were they were on tight. They played KT really tight and close yesterday and he still managed 20 which is wild. However, it looked like they were ok with letting Gary, Mast, Allick, Boogie, etc shoot it from out there. -
It’s never a good day when the guy who predicted a groin kick and a half turns out to be the top dog in this competition. Haha!

Woke up this morning surprisingly feeling ok. We got out butts kicked yesterday. We let the moment get to us… but I don’t think our 7-0 start was a fluke. Most Power 5 teams would have been 7-0 with our schedule. That’s true. But Nebraska isn’t one of those most and in years past we wouldn’t have been. Most Power 5 teams have danced and won when they’ve gotten there. Learn from it, don’t let CU beat us twice, and let’s wash our hands of this one. I’m already over it. Go Big Red! We’ve got to beat Minny. -

Brice took 0. That’s completely unacceptable. -
Duquesne is 91 Oregon State 226
-
That numbers good enough for 9th in the B1G and we have 3 teams over 100 and 1 team over 200.
-
We’ve got a ways to go.

A big ole dose of reality drops us to #58 in Pom so far. I don't think individual sheets have updated on T-Rank but we did drop from an 8 to a 10 seed. (Not that we're anywhere close to the tournament)

- The referees did not lose us that game-- but they were horrible and the fact that McD didn't get a tech around the 10 minute mark was ridiculous. When we went on our run, that was about the time he was on the referees hard and he pretty much got them to change the way they were calling things in that moment. - At the end of the first half, their player jumped into our player. That is not a foul and I'm pretty sure that an offensive player initiating contact is or was recently a point of emphasis for referees. - We'll rarely, if ever, win shooting like that from deep. Baylor will rarely ever shoot like that in the first half again... and he's a pretty good shooter overall. - This game doesn't take away anything from our overall goals. It's one game and we can't let CU beat us 2 to 3 times. Two big ones this week in which we could go 2-0. - The weight of outside expectations should be a nice lift off of our shoulders for a while. We won't have any national eyes on us again any time soon and I'm ok with that. We didn't handle being "the game of the day in college basketball" as it was touted. - Part of us shooting so rough from deep, I think, was that the wrong people were taking the threes. Allick shot 4, KT only got 4 as well and BW didn't even shoot one. -

Other than mentally breaking us, this game doesn’t mean squat in the long run. Fred has to get er done this year though so he can let this one beat us Wednesday too. -
