2021 4 PG Carter Whitt -> Wake Forest->Furman
hskr4life replied to thrasher31's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
Woo Boy— our HS recruiting continues to strugggggleee. -
The Big 10 is just going to come out of this whole ordeal looking so silly. We already do.

Have a feeling that B1G is going to look like a big joke in the FB world in a few months.

2021 SG Hunter Sallis ->Gonzaga->Wake Forest

This'll drive the Miles haters crazy. Couldn't base his firing on possibly getting a kid to commit to us years down the road over KU, Kentucky, UNC, Ect... but id doesn't take the sting out. -
This is a conversation I think we need to have.

The full game where Martinez ran wild on KSU on a Thursday night is on YouTube. Trust me-- I went to school at KSU and played it often. -
What makes you think we'll be any better than we were a year ago? --- Well... It can't get worse than last year and I believe all of the players that played last year will be better in year 2. I also have faith in the coach to improve the players. Also, KU didn't even make the dance last year so I don't feel bad for where we ended up. And, if better, how much better? -- I would say that a .500 record would be a good goal. How would you fill a Hoiberg roster? -- Whatever he thinks he needs to win. What pieces, if any, do you think we're missing? -- We're missing the "known." Once again, we have so many unknowns and no "knowns." We're missing that one player that we can be like "yep-- he'll take us there." Feel free to quote this post and fill in the blanks as you see fit.

I'm all for ways to make MLS soccer more interesting and relevant. If that means a merger with Liga MX, then I'd be good with that.
-
No doubt that MLS has come a long way! You're starting to see some talent actually stay in the MLS as well. A long ways to go, but not as long as it was 10 or even 5 years ago.
-
I've been watching some Premier League-- especially Pulisic who has been killing it. MLS still has a long ways to go.

Congrats Bugs! I actually worked as a summer maintenance temp for 3-4 years while in college. I also have family working for NDOR!

Sanchez looked nervous as all things be. Didn't look confident from the word go.

And SKC finds their stride once again. Ughhh-- I hate that live sports are back. (I was excited for about 88 minutes)

Wisc. transfer Kobe King is 'N'

Title change: Kobe King is N and Out -
Watching the video in that article— he certainly has hops!

Will be turning pro instead of going to South Alabama.

Well... we know why Davis left now.

Not the biggest of losses. Kind of a gunner, but was 0 for his career here and really just played in mop up duty. Really telling that he didn't even get into a game until the last game of the year. Good athlete, but his game just didn't translate to the D1 level for the little time that he was on the floor. He should be a good pick up for someone, but he just wasn't going to get it done on the court here. HA!

Will they or won't they: A poll
hskr4life replied to Norm Peterson's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
As someone who was recently furloughed, I hope beyond hope that things start getting back to normal. We have to find a way-- a smart way-- to get things going again by August. I am fine with spectatorsless sports. That will be plenty of TV $$$$. I don't see any reason why athletes couldn't be allowed on campus even if there are no in-person classes. -
This quote caught my eye!

I actually decided after our Wednesday loss in the Big 10 tournie that I would need to take a break from watching sports. Mentally, I was just discouraged. Haven't watched any live sport except Horse Racing since that day.

Underrated post!

No one said that Leigha did anything negative for the program and fans. In fact-- she did a lot which is why everyone is so touched by her leaving. Assumptions and speculations are what a message board is for. Whether right or wrong, they are going to happen. Especially when you get a "no comment" that doesn't clear anything up directly from the source. She left-- that is why these "comments" are being made. If you transfer out of a program, people are going to be upset. You are correct, they are kids, they are making tough decisions. But part of growing up is learning that decisions have consequences. Decisions have an effect on not just you but a whole group of other people. There are also a whole group of people on this board that invest a lot more time and money into the WBB program than I do. I've seen multiple posts that have wished Leigha well and nothing that has said anything more negative than the assumption that this was in the works prior to the announcement. It's disappointing for all of us to lose our best player. I hope that Leigha is happy-- but you can't expect a fanbase to be all fine and dandy after losing their best player in the off-season that we have experienced.
-
Me thinks someone was talking to someone that was talking to someone before a decision to transfer happened. This seems very quick.

The one thing that is holding me back right now on going out and finding a new coach NOW is everything that is going on in the world. Do we really want to be going through a coaching search at this time?

Meh-- One starter transfers... ok I can see that at schools. Two starters transfer... sure that may happen for some schools. But three likely starters transfering after losing multiple to graduation and one being your literal best player doesn't scream "this happens everywhere" to me. Sorry, I just don't buy that THIS happens everywhere. Starters-- sure, lots of transfers-- sure. But our situation-- no.
