Well Santa ate my kids cookies last night, so if we’re to go 11-9 we gotta win today. I’m thinking we pull it off too. -
Yeah— No rhyme or reason. I guess it’s my nickname for him. When we first signed him, I thought he pronounced his name “you-Vaughn” and so I would always just type Yuv for short and the nickname kind of stuck for me.

Sobering stat as we head into the new year... In 2020 Nebraska basketball was.... 5-22 with our only wins over Iowa, McNeese St, NDSU, South Dakota, and Doane. We still have two games to go, so we could technically finish 7-22, 6-23, or 5-24. I'm going to go out on a limb and say we'll double our win total at least in 2021. Edited to add that our other major mens sports didn't do so hot either..... Baseball in 2020 - 7-8 Football in 2020 - 3-5 -
I’ve noticed we also pass up a fair share of shots off the ghost screen pop. We’ll dribble sometimes, but the pop man never really goes anywhere with it. Whether it’s lack of confidence or whether they don’t feel like they have time to get a shot off— I don’t know. But if we’re not going to do something on those pops, we should set an actual screen as mentioned.

I actually thought Lakes was a little better on the D end than I expected. Pretty active and goes hard for rebounds. Anything we get from him outside of 3’s is icing on the cake. -
Maybe Yuv just needs to shoot FT line hook shots. Ha!

Merry Christmas all! I asked Santa for the Big Red to go 11-9 in the Big 10 this year. We’ll see if he’s real or not.

Time to right our wrongs and go 1-1 in the Big 10!! -
Good post! I said in the game thread that the missed back-to-back bunnies might be the tipping point and I truly believe it was. It's completely different if we hit our layup to go back on top.
-
So if we "get the Covid" and don't play another game until March first-- at the rate we are moving without playing-- we'll be 49th and darn near lock territory. Win a game or two in the Big 10 tournament, finish the season 6-4 (.600 win percentage) and you never know. I think we got a shot.

We’ll probably be NWs No sit Sunday game this year to put em in the dance

The Petteway run didn’t happen in the Big 10 because we were overly talented. It happened because we were basically the opposite snowball of what we have now. EVERYTHING went right, EVERYTHING went in. When Petteway or Pitchford shot, I was surprised when it didn’t go in. Pitchford was basically automatic to make at least 1-2 threes before the U 16 of the first half. Now, I’m surprised when we make it. We just need to get that snowball rolling the opposite direction.
-
It’s the same reason we don’t make open threes and miss bunnies. We think too much as shooters, and we lack confidence. Winning builds confidence but confidence also is needed to win. When you’re not doing either, it’s tough to break the snowball. We lost a lot of confidence in that Nevada loss.

Im not positive about TOS but I did watch each time down the floor. Stevenson didn’t stand once that 2nd half. You could see it in his face and emotions when he got pulled in the 1st half. -

Knowing our luck, this would the game where our players turned it on and “Wisconsin” would still roll. -
I didn't watch the presser... did any media member ask about this. This was.... so strange... to say the least.

Honestly, we shot our best when we were not trying to have an offensive flow and just running and shooting. Maybe we just run like a bat out of hell and see what happens. We may lose some games by 20-30, but we shot our best percentages when we were taking contested, run and gun jumpers. Start Banton, Lakes, McGowens, Teddy, and Eduardo and just run run run. -

I think we were all thinking that Teddy could be “the guy” but, the more I watch, I think Teddy needs “the guys” around him to suit his game. At WVU, he had that.
