I wouldn't be completely surprised if being asked to play the 5 isn't at least a large part of the reason he didn't bother to make a visit. He's a wing that wants to play the wing because that is where he will play at the next level, whether in the NBA or in Europe. This isn't like the Pitchford situation. Pitch was a big that wanted to play outside. Harris is a wing that would be forced to play a position that he isn't physically cut out to play. Yes he is tall, but he is skinny and not a wide body at all. I don't think missing on him is bad news at all. I've been pretty vocal in stating that he isn't really a true big man and don't think he is gonna fix what is ailing.

I don't see paying to rent PBA for practice time in the summer as being a viable alternative. Besides, I'd rather see them after they play in Spain rather than before. By the way, can Gill even go on the Spain trip? Personally, as an Omaha resident, I'd just like to see the staff let the guys play in the Omaha summer league like Doc did several years ago.

The problem for Harris will be on the defensive end. If required to play in the post, he'll be pushed all over by Big 10 posts. He can be Pitchford offensively if that means you want him running around on the perimeter, but he's not going to be doing a lot of posting up or scoring from the block.

Wow, that would be a pretty small lineup. Harris is a very skilled player, but if people are expecting him to come in and play like a traditional center, they are going to be severely disappointed (especially on the defensive end). That is not his game - on either side of the ball. His offensive game is not really suited to be a back to the basket guy. He is a solid rebounder, but his numbers may be inflated by the fact that Providence had a lot of guys to box out and their system sends several guys to the glass. Basically, Harris is a wing. Is their enough room for another wing with Shields and White?

I kinda figured Chin would be the natural pick as well. That all changes when ai found out that Hunter was credited with landing the 2 kids from Chicago. Since Hunter obviously has some relationships there and we know Mo has ties there as well, it would almost seem foolish to put another Chicago guy on the staff.

I know a way for you to be less concerned that 6 of 11 players Miles has recruited have left the program prior to eligibility being up: Name those 6 players. I think that is a good point. Of course, isn't the flipside to that coin that there are issues with recruiting and evaluation of kids.

He is not a center. He's skinny and likes to shoot outside. He'd be strictly a swap for TP. I don't even think it is a switch as Pitchford is much beefier and has the size to be a center (the issue was want to). Harris just doesn't have the same body type. He would be a good PF that could play significant minutes while Morrow adjusts to the college game, but he probably wouldn't solve the lack of a big man problem.

I don't know that lack of tournament success smack is exactly the best road to go down with Nova fans.
