Terran Petteway's Mother has passed away.
Red Don replied to ShortDust's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Here is the obituary. http://www.galvnews.com/obituaries/article_fd8069be-e06a-11e4-bdf5-6f21d84fa9da.html It is nice they acknowledged the Cornhuskers. The coaches attending just shows the regard they have for Terran. Interestingly, all of the (male) children, and all the grandchildren (but one) have names starting with 'T.' -
Just says coaching staff and four players (unspecified) I presume that would include Tim Miles

Posting here because of Nebraska Connection. (Mods please move it this in not the appropriate forum.)

(Mods, please feel free to move thread if this is not the appropriate venue) Sam Dekker @dekker 1h1 hour ago This is the epitome of the meaning of College Athletics! Truly sorry to see him go (except if he were to play against the Huskers again)!

Providence ahead at 2-0 at end of 2nd. Providence a more polished team, but Mavs are young- big majority of their players are freshmen & underclassmen, which should bode well for the future. -

Providence just scored 1-0 @ about 8:30 in the 2nd. Omaha goalie Massa making a lot of great saves, but Omaha needs to generate some offense. -
Nice gif!

2015 PG Bakari Evelyn -> Nebraska -> Valparaiso -> Iowa

Have we discovered a new descriptor? Fat Fingered = Flub (like a "Frasier Crane" = major faux-pas, after Dianne left him at the alter in Italy) -
It seems like we've seen several teams come out of nowhere this season (i.e. Maryland) because of stellar play from incomings. Nebraska is an unknown this year (much like 2013/14).

Terran Petteway's Mother has passed away.
Red Don replied to ShortDust's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Such Sad, Sad news to discover this morning! I couldn't possibly add anything to what has already been so well said except Sincere Sympathy and Prayers to the entire Petteway family in this time of sorrow. Thank you for publishing the poignant picture, Dimes. It's worth a Thousand words! -
Tom Izzo and Bo Ryan are my two favorite (opposing) coaches in the B1G. Both Gruff, but fair. I think Bo Ryan gave Nebraska a lot of respect when we beat them last year at 'The Vault.'

Their crystal ball predicts Michigan 67% to Georgia 33%. Who would 'down' vote this post? Seriously... smh Uhm, Red Don, apparently. Edited to add: I assumed it was a "fat finger" mistake and took care of it for you. GUILTY! As Charged! The "Usual Suspects" (and here I didn't even know it until you spotted it Norm - looks like I'm going to have to go on a diet - or quit weighing-in ) Oh, btw, I hope we get a visit soon from Mike Edwards - and blow his socks off! (Edit: Sorry but I neglected to thank you for fixing it Norm. Nice to know someone has your back.)

We do best when we are over-looked Underdogs! I hear Penny Barker, Wai Tebster and Perran Tetteway are very under-rated. This will be a good chance for Mim (always did like those too-cute nickmames, like Tubby, Doc) Tiles to demonstrate his coaching skills! (Edited to nickmames - that was a typo, the rest, I'm dyslexic )

Since I live in Omaha, the finances of Lincoln's district have not been studied by me. Yet, the whole project is amazing and a long term benefit to Lincoln in my detached view. I would love to hear everybody with knowledge state why the project was a gift to the city/university/whoever (depending on your point of view). I think Lincoln, in any event transformed itself into a much more dynamic town. (Knowledgeble? Sorry, not me.) I don't live in Lincoln so not paying any property taxes there, nor am I knowledgeable about PBA or its finances, but let's think about this for a minute! It seems to me that if current occupancy revenues are $10 million, and it takes $20 million to support/repay the debt incurred; that would mean city property taxes would be needed to fund the debt service shortfall in the interim. It does not seem unreasonable to me that revenues could double in six years, because of increased attraction of people to the area for all the various PBA events (Inflation alone should serve to increase revenues a lot over that period of time). But, even if it were to take, say, 10 years to double; revenues will not plateau at 10 years, but continue increasing in the future. Any revenue over that required by the debt service would be a direct benefit to the city. I don't know what the alternatives were? Have the University construct a new Arena for Basketball/other Sporting Events; funded by State taxes? In this case, how would the University (that invested the funds), benefit from the increased population/business drawn to the area by its new arena (other than ticket/direct sales from a likely underutilized venue)? A 'new car' does not seem like a good analogy. Unlike a new car that generates no new revenues and begins depreciating the moment you drive it off the lot, the PBA starts generating revenues for itself and for the surrounding area after it opens. Just something to think about.

It seems officials are being asked to do too much, trying to enforce rules that cannot be applied consistently. It seems that it’s not so much what the official sees as it’s the Anticipated calls and what he Expects to see!

In my case I think it's success envy!
